IF YOU CAN REJECT IT GOD CAN CHANGE IT

TITLE: IF YOU CAN REJECT IT, GOD CAN CHANGE IT

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Isaiah 38:1-5
Supporting Texts: Mark 10:46-52, Luke 8:43-48, 2 Kings 7:3-8

INTRODUCTION
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of people who faced seemingly impossible situations. However, they refused to accept their circumstances and sought divine intervention. When you reject what is not aligned with God's will for your life, you create room for His power to bring about transformation. This sermon will explore several biblical accounts where individuals rejected their unfavorable situations, and as a result, God changed their destiny. If you can reject it in faith, God can change it.

1. HEZEKIAH: REJECTING SICKNESS

a) The Prophecy of Death
In Isaiah 38:1-5, we read that Hezekiah received a death sentence through the prophet Isaiah. Instead of accepting this decree, Hezekiah turned to God in prayer and tears, rejecting the verdict of death. His faith and refusal to give up resulted in God granting him 15 more years of life.

b) Turning to God in Prayer
Hezekiah's story teaches us the power of prayer when we face challenging situations. By rejecting the initial prophecy, he changed his outcome. When we call on God, He is faithful to hear and answer.

**Biblical Example:** Hezekiah (Isaiah 38:1-5)
Hezekiah's rejection of death brought divine intervention. Similarly, whatever situation seems final in your life can be changed if you reject it and seek God's help.

2. BLIND BARTIMAEUS: REJECTING BLINDNESS

a) Refusing to Stay Silent
In Mark 10:46-52, Bartimaeus was a blind beggar, living in darkness and desperation. But when he heard that Jesus was passing by, he refused to stay silent. He cried out for mercy, rejecting his blindness. Despite people trying to quiet him, Bartimaeus persisted until Jesus healed him.

b) Persistence in Faith
Bartimaeus’ persistence demonstrates that when we reject our limitations and cry out to God, He can bring healing and restoration. It is our determination that draws God's attention.

Biblical Example: Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52)
Bartimaeus rejected blindness and received his sight. Likewise, when we reject our limitations and believe in God's power, miracles happen.

3. THE WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD: REJECTING INFIRMITY

a) Refusing to Give Up
In Luke 8:43-48, the woman with the issue of blood suffered for 12 years. Despite spending all her money on doctors with no success, she refused to give up. She rejected her infirmity and believed that if she could only touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, she would be healed. Her faith brought about her healing.

b) Faith Beyond Obstacles
The woman’s determination and faith overcame every obstacle in her path. Sometimes, rejecting an undesirable situation requires boldness and faith, just like hers.

Biblical Example: The Woman with the Issue of Blood (Luke 8:43-48)
She rejected infirmity, and God changed her situation. When you take action in faith, no matter how long the problem has persisted, God can bring healing and deliverance.

4. THE FOUR LEPERS: REJECTING STARVATION

a) A Desperate Situation
In 2 Kings 7:3-8, the four lepers faced certain death from both famine and their illness. Instead of resigning to their fate, they rejected starvation and took a bold step by going into the Syrian camp. To their surprise, God had already driven out the Syrians, leaving behind abundant food.

b) Bold Action in Desperation
The lepers' story teaches us that sometimes, rejecting a negative situation requires taking bold steps of faith. They acted in desperation, and God honoured their decision, providing for them miraculously.

Biblical Example: The Four Lepers (2 Kings 7:3-8)
They rejected starvation, and God provided food for them. Your bold steps in rejecting what is not from God can lead to supernatural provision and breakthrough.

5. REJECTING NEGATIVE SITUATIONS IN YOUR LIFE

a) Identifying What to Reject
There are things in your life that God never intended for you to accept—sickness, poverty, fear, failure, etc. Just as Hezekiah, Bartimaeus, the woman with the issue of blood, and the four lepers rejected their circumstances, you can also identify areas in your life where you need to say "No" to the works of the enemy.

b) Standing on God's Promises
When you reject what is contrary to God's Word, stand firm on His promises. The Bible is filled with assurances of healing, deliverance, provision, and victory. Declare those promises over your life and refuse to settle for less than God's best.

CONCLUSION
If you can reject it, God can change it! Hezekiah rejected the prophecy of death, Bartimaeus rejected blindness, the woman with the issue of blood rejected infirmity, and the four lepers rejected starvation. Their stories teach us that faith and determination can change our destinies. What are you going through today that you need to reject? Whatever you reject in faith, God is able to change it and give you victory.
