"In that day his burden will be lifted from your shoulders, his yoke from your neck; the yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat."

"How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how he went around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with him."

INTRODUCTION 
The anointing of God is a powerful force that breaks every form of bondage and oppression. It is not merely a symbolic gesture but a dynamic, transformative power that works in our lives to remove burdens and destroy yokes. In this sermon, we will explore the nature of this anointing, how it operates to break yokes, and how we can access and experience its transformative power in our lives.

1. UNDERSTANDING THE ANOINTING

a) Definition and Purpose of Anointing (Isaiah 10:27) 
Isaiah 10:27 explains, "The yoke will be broken because you have grown so fat." This imagery signifies that the anointing is the divine power that breaks yokes of oppression and removes burdens. The anointing is not just a feeling but a tangible force that comes from God to deliver us from various forms of spiritual and physical bondage.

b) The Anointing of Jesus (Acts 10:38)
Acts 10:38 reveals, "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power." Jesus' ministry was characterized by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, which enabled Him to heal the sick, deliver the oppressed, and perform miracles. This anointing was crucial for His mission and serves as our example of the power of divine anointing in action.

c) The Anointing in the Old Testament
In the Old Testament, anointing was often associated with kings, priests, and prophets. It was a sign of divine selection and empowerment. For example, David was anointed by Samuel (1 Samuel 16:13), signifying God's choice and empowerment for kingship. This practice highlights the anointing's role in enabling individuals to fulfill their divine assignments.

2. THE POWER OF THE ANOINTING TO BREAK YOKES 

a) Breaking Bondages of Sin (1 John 3:8)
1 John 3:8 states, "The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work." The anointing of Jesus was pivotal in breaking the power of sin and the devil's work in our lives. Through His anointing, Jesus overcame the forces of evil and set us free from the bondage of sin.

b) Delivering from Oppression (Luke 4:18)
Luke 4:18 declares, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free." The anointing brings liberation and healing, addressing both physical and spiritual oppression.

c) Empowering for Service (Acts 1:8) 
Acts 1:8 says, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." The anointing empowers believers for service and witness, equipping them to accomplish God’s purposes and impact the world.

3. RECEIVING AND WALKING IN THE ANOINTING 

a) Seeking the Anointing through Prayer (Luke 11:13)
Luke 11:13 advises, "If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" We must seek the anointing through earnest prayer, asking God to fill us with His Holy Spirit and power.

b) Living a Life of Obedience and Faith (John 14:15)
John 14:15 says, "If you love me, keep my commands." Walking in obedience and faith positions us to receive and operate in the anointing. Our relationship with God, characterized by love and obedience, allows the anointing to flow freely in our lives.

c) Using the Anointing for Kingdom Purposes (1 Corinthians 12:7)
1 Corinthians 12:7 states, "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good." The anointing is not just for personal benefit but for the advancement of God’s Kingdom. We are called to use our anointing to serve others, proclaim the gospel, and bring about positive change.

4. PRAYING FOR THE MANIFESTATION OF THE ANOINTING

a) Prayer for Personal Deliverance (Psalm 107:14)
Psalm 107:14 says, "He brought them out of darkness, the utter darkness, and broke away their chains." We pray for personal deliverance from any yoke of bondage, asking God to break every chain and set us free.

b) Prayer for Empowerment for Service (Ephesians 3:16)
Ephesians 3:16 prays, "I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being." We seek God’s empowerment through His Spirit, asking for strength and effectiveness in serving His purposes.

c) Prayer for Impactful Witness (Acts 4:29)
Acts 4:29 states, "Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness." We pray for boldness and effectiveness in our witness, asking for the anointing to make a significant impact in our communities.

CONCLUSION 
The anointing that breaks yokes is a powerful and transformative force provided by God to deliver us from bondage, empower us for service, and fulfill His purposes in our lives. As we seek and walk in this anointing, we experience freedom from oppression and the ability to make a difference in the world. Let us embrace this divine empowerment, trusting in God’s promises and living out the anointing in every aspect of our lives.

1. I declare that every yoke of bondage and oppression is broken by the anointing of God in our lives.

2. I decree that God’s anointing is empowering us for service and effectiveness in His Kingdom.

3. I proclaim that chains of limitation and stagnation are being shattered by the divine anointing.

4. I declare that boldness and impact in our witness are flowing from the anointing of the Holy Spirit.

5. I decree that our lives are transformed and refreshed by the anointing, fulfilling God’s purposes.

6. I proclaim that the power of the anointing is overcoming every obstacle and challenge we face.

7. I declare that we are living in obedience and faith, positioning ourselves to receive God’s anointing.

8. I decree that significant change and impact are occurring through the anointing in our lives.

9. I proclaim that the anointing is bringing healing, deliverance, and freedom to every area of our lives.

10. I declare that we celebrate and walk in the transformative power of the anointing that breaks yokes.
