RESTORATION OF WASTED YEARS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Joel 2:21-27

Key Verse: “And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” (Joel 2:25)

Supporting Texts: Isaiah 43:18-19; Job 42:10-17; Psalm 126:1-3; Romans 8:28; Jeremiah 30:17; Zechariah 9:12; 1 Samuel 30:8-19

Description: God is the Restorer who is able to redeem lost years, recover wasted opportunities, and bring His children into a season of abundant restoration.

INTRODUCTION
One of the greatest pains people experience is the feeling that precious years have been wasted. Some have lost years through poor decisions, sin, sickness, financial hardship, delayed breakthroughs, broken relationships, spiritual attacks, or circumstances beyond their control. Such experiences often leave people with regret, disappointment, and hopelessness. However, the God we serve is not limited by time. He has the power to restore what appears permanently lost and to accomplish in a short time what human effort could not achieve over many years.

The promise in the Book of Joel came after a devastating season in which locusts had destroyed the harvest of God's people. What seemed like complete devastation became the setting for one of the greatest promises of restoration in Scripture. God did not merely promise another harvest; He promised to restore the years themselves. This reveals His ability to redeem time, restore opportunities, and replace shame with honour.

Every believer who trusts in God can look beyond the failures and disappointments of yesterday. God's restoration is greater than human loss. He can restore spiritual vitality, family relationships, finances, health, ministry, career, and destiny. What the enemy intended for destruction, God is able to transform into a testimony that glorifies His holy name.

1. GOD IS THE GOD OF RESTORATION
The nature of God is to restore what has been lost.

a. God Restores Wasted Years (Joel 2:25-27)
The Lord is able to redeem every lost season and replace it with fruitfulness.

b. God Heals Broken Lives (Jeremiah 30:17)
His healing brings complete restoration to every wounded area.

c. God Gives Hope for the Future (Jeremiah 29:11)
His plans remain good despite past disappointments.

d. Nothing Is Impossible with God (Luke 1:37)
No loss is beyond the reach of God's power.

Biblical Example: Job lost his family, health, and possessions, yet God restored him with double blessings because of his faithfulness (Job 42:10-17).

2. REPENTANCE AND RETURNING TO GOD PRECEDE RESTORATION
Spiritual restoration begins with a sincere return to the Lord.

a. Return to the Lord Wholeheartedly (Joel 2:12-13)
God responds graciously to genuine repentance.

b. Confess and Forsake Sin (Proverbs 28:13)
Mercy follows sincere confession and repentance.

c. Seek God's Face Continually (2 Chronicles 7:14)
Revival begins when God's people humble themselves before Him.

d. Walk in Obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
Obedience positions believers for covenant blessings.

Biblical Example: The prodigal son returned to his father in repentance and experienced complete restoration of his relationship and dignity (Luke 15:17-24).

3. GOD RESTORES WHAT THE ENEMY HAS STOLEN
The Lord has power over every work of the enemy.

a. Pursue Divine Recovery (1 Samuel 30:8)
God gives wisdom and strength to recover lost blessings.

b. God Reverses Captivity (Psalm 126:1-3)
He turns mourning into joyful celebration.

c. The Thief Must Restore (Proverbs 6:30-31)
God's justice ensures that losses are not permanent.

d. God Causes All Things to Work Together for Good (Romans 8:28)
Even painful experiences serve God's greater purpose.

Biblical Example: David recovered everything the Amalekites had stolen from Ziklag because he sought the Lord before pursuing them (1 Samuel 30:18-19).

4. RESTORATION BRINGS GREATER GLORY
God's restoration often exceeds what was originally lost.

a. Double Honour Replaces Shame (Isaiah 61:7)
The Lord exchanges disgrace for lasting joy.

b. The Latter Glory Shall Be Greater (Haggai 2:9)
God's future blessings surpass former experiences.

c. God Opens New Doors (Revelation 3:7-8)
He creates fresh opportunities that no one can shut.

d. God Gives Abundant Increase (Ephesians 3:20)
His blessings exceed human imagination.

Biblical Example: Joseph's years of slavery and imprisonment ended with extraordinary promotion as ruler over Egypt (Genesis 41:39-44).

5. MAINTAIN YOUR RESTORATION THROUGH FAITHFULNESS
Lasting restoration requires continual dependence upon God.

a. Walk by Faith (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Faith sustains believers through every season.

b. Continue in Prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Prayer keeps the believer connected to God's power.

c. Give Thanks Always (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Gratitude preserves God's blessings.

d. Serve God Faithfully (Matthew 6:33)
Kingdom priorities guarantee lasting rewards.

Biblical Example: Ruth remained faithful to God and to Naomi, and the Lord restored her life with a godly husband, a family, and a place in the lineage of the Messiah (Ruth 4:13-17).

CONCLUSION
God specialises in restoring lives that appear beyond repair. No matter how many years have been wasted or how many opportunities have been lost, the Lord is able to redeem time, restore joy, and bring His children into a season of abundance. His promise remains sure: He will restore the years that have been consumed by the enemy and replace mourning with rejoicing.

Therefore, do not allow your past to define your future. Trust in the unfailing promises of God, walk in obedience, remain steadfast in prayer, and expect Him to do what only He can do. The Lord shall restore every wasted year, recover every lost opportunity, and establish you in a future filled with hope, fruitfulness, and lasting testimonies.

OVERCOMING EVERY MIDYEAR BATTLE

OVERCOMING EVERY MIDYEAR BATTLE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: 2 Chronicles 20:1-30

Key Verse: “Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.” (2 Chronicles 20:17)

Supporting Texts: Exodus 14:13-14; Isaiah 54:17; Romans 8:37; Psalm 46:1-3; Ephesians 6:10-18; James 4:7; 1 John 4:4

Description: God gives His people victory over every battle they face, enabling them to overcome every obstacle and finish their journey in triumph.

INTRODUCTION
The middle of the year is often a season of reflection and evaluation. Many people begin the year with excitement and expectations, but by the middle of the year they may encounter unexpected battles, disappointments, delays, financial pressures, health challenges, family conflicts, spiritual attacks, or discouragement. These battles can weaken faith and make believers question whether they will ever fulfil God's promises.

However, the Bible teaches that battles are not signs that God has abandoned His people. Rather, they are opportunities for God to demonstrate His power, faithfulness, and sovereignty. Every major breakthrough in Scripture was preceded by a challenge, and every great testimony emerged after a season of testing. The God who brought Israel through the Red Sea, delivered Jehoshaphat from overwhelming enemies, and gave David victory over Goliath is still fighting for His people today.

As we journey through the remaining months of the year, we must refuse to surrender to fear or discouragement. Our confidence rests in the Lord, who has promised never to leave nor forsake us. Every battle confronting us shall become an opportunity for divine intervention, supernatural victory, and greater testimonies.

1. RECOGNISE THAT EVERY BATTLE BELONGS TO THE LORD
Victory begins by understanding that God is our Defender.

a. The Lord Fights for His People (Exodus 14:13-14)
God goes before His children and defeats every enemy that rises against them.

b. Do Not Be Afraid (Isaiah 41:10)
God's presence removes fear and strengthens His people.

c. God Is Our Refuge and Strength (Psalm 46:1-3)
The Lord remains our safe place in times of trouble.

d. Trust God's Power Above Human Ability (Psalm 20:7)
Our confidence must rest in God rather than in earthly resources.

Biblical Example: When Pharaoh pursued Israel at the Red Sea, God fought for His people and completely destroyed their enemies (Exodus 14:21-31).

2. FIGHT SPIRITUAL BATTLES WITH SPIRITUAL WEAPONS
Believers overcome through God's power rather than human strength.

a. Put on the Whole Armour of God (Ephesians 6:10-18)
God provides spiritual protection for every believer.

b. Resist the Devil (James 4:7)
Satan flees when believers stand firmly upon God's Word.

c. Pray Without Ceasing (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Persistent prayer invites divine intervention.

d. Declare the Word of God (Hebrews 4:12)
God's Word is powerful against every spiritual opposition.

Biblical Example: Jesus overcame every temptation from Satan by declaring the written Word of God (Matthew 4:1-11).

3. MAINTAIN FAITH DURING TIMES OF TESTING
Faith enables believers to stand firm until victory comes.

a. Walk by Faith and Not by Sight (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Do not allow present circumstances to weaken your confidence in God.

b. Hold Firmly to God's Promises (Hebrews 10:23)
God remains faithful to everything He has spoken.

c. Refuse Discouragement (Joshua 1:9)
Strength and courage are necessary for every battle.

d. Wait Patiently on the Lord (Isaiah 40:31)
Those who trust God receive renewed strength.

Biblical Example: Job remained faithful despite severe trials, and God ultimately restored him with double blessings (Job 42:10-17).

4. PRAISE INVITES DIVINE VICTORY
Worship releases God's power into impossible situations.

a. Praise Before the Victory (2 Chronicles 20:21-22)
Jehoshaphat appointed singers before the army, and God defeated their enemies.

b. Give Thanks in Every Situation (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Gratitude demonstrates confidence in God's faithfulness.

c. Rejoice in the Lord Always (Philippians 4:4)
Joy strengthens believers during difficult seasons.

d. Worship with Confidence (Psalm 100:4)
Praise opens the heart to God's presence and peace.

Biblical Example: Paul and Silas praised God in prison, and the Lord sent an earthquake that opened every prison door (Acts 16:25-34).

5. GOD WILL GIVE YOU COMPLETE VICTORY
The end of every battle for God's children is victory.

a. You Are More Than a Conqueror (Romans 8:37)
Through Christ, believers have overwhelming victory.

b. No Weapon Shall Prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
Every attack against God's people shall fail.

c. God Will Finish What He Started (Philippians 1:6)
The Lord completes every good work in His children.

d. Your Testimony Shall Glorify God (Psalm 126:1-3)
Every battle shall end with songs of thanksgiving.

Biblical Example: David defeated Goliath through unwavering faith in God, bringing victory and honour to Israel (1 Samuel 17:45-50).

CONCLUSION
Midyear battles are not meant to defeat you but to reveal the greatness of God's power. Whatever challenges have confronted you during this year, remember that the Lord has not abandoned you. He remains your Defender, Deliverer, and Everlasting Help. Every battle that seems impossible to overcome is an opportunity for God to display His mighty hand.

As you continue through the remaining months of the year, stand firm in faith, remain steadfast in prayer, clothe yourself with the armour of God, and continually praise His name. The Lord shall fight for you, every enemy shall be defeated, and you shall finish this year with undeniable victory, overflowing joy, and glorious testimonies.

7. Father, turn every midyear battle into a testimony of Your greatness, in Jesus name.

8. Lord, surround me with Your divine protection and favour, in Jesus name.

9. Father, let the remaining months of this year be filled with victory, peace, and supernatural breakthroughs, in Jesus name.

10. Lord, help me to finish this year stronger, victorious, and full of Your glory, in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall overcome every midyear battle by the mighty power of God.

2. Every enemy fighting against your destiny shall be defeated by the Lord.

3. The Lord shall strengthen you, preserve you, and uphold you with His righteous right hand.

INTRODUCTION
Throughout the Scriptures, whenever God visited His people, remarkable transformations followed. Barrenness gave way to fruitfulness, bondage was replaced with freedom, impossibilities became testimonies, and hopeless situations were turned into glorious victories. Divine visitation is more than God's awareness of our circumstances; it is His supernatural intervention to accomplish what human effort cannot achieve.

As we enter the second half of the year, many believers carry expectations that are yet to be fulfilled. Some are trusting God for healing, financial breakthroughs, restoration, promotion, marriage, ministry growth, open doors, or spiritual revival. While the first half of the year may have brought challenges and delays, God's timetable has not changed. He is still able to visit His people suddenly and perform mighty works beyond human imagination.

The second half of the year can become the most glorious season of your life if you position yourself for God's visitation. When the Lord visits a person, years of waiting can end in a single moment, closed doors are opened, forgotten people are remembered, and impossible situations become living testimonies. Therefore, expect the Lord to visit you with His mercy, favour, and power.

A consecrated life welcomes God's presence.

Persistent prayer prepares the heart for miracles.

God has not forgotten you. The second half of the year is another opportunity for Him to demonstrate His faithfulness, mercy, and power in your life. Every delay, disappointment, and unanswered prayer is subject to God's divine visitation. When He arises on your behalf, no force can hinder His purpose for your life.

Therefore, remain steadfast in faith, prayer, holiness, and obedience. Continue trusting the Lord even when circumstances seem contrary.
