INTRODUCTION

Every great building begins with a pattern, design, or architectural plan. Before the physical structure is erected, the architect has already determined what the building should look like. In the same way, God does not want His people to build anyhow. He is the divine Architect who has a pattern for our lives, families, ministries, churches, and assignments.

When God instructed Moses to construct the tabernacle, He did not leave him to depend on his personal creativity or imagination. God specifically commanded him to make everything according to the pattern shown to him on the mountain. This teaches us that divine assignments require divine instructions. What God has ordained must be built according to what He has revealed.

Many things fail because they are built on human ideas rather than divine principles. A person may have passion without direction, talent without discipline, ambition without God's will, or activity without divine approval. If we want what we build to endure, we must discover God's pattern and faithfully follow it.

The greatest danger in spiritual building is building from human wisdom without divine direction. Many people build their marriages, ministries, careers and relationships according to culture, personal preferences, popular opinions and worldly standards. However, God's approval is not determined by how attractive a structure appears but by how faithfully it conforms to His pattern.

Heavenly pattern means God's revealed design, principles, order and purpose for a particular assignment. When we build according to God's pattern, we build with divine backing. When we depart from His pattern, we may produce something impressive but lack the presence, power and purpose of God.

1. GOD HAS A PATTERN FOR EVERYTHING HE WANTS US TO BUILD

God is a God of order and purpose. Whenever He gives an assignment, He also has a standard by which that assignment should be carried out.

a) God Gives Divine Instructions (Exodus 25:8-9)
God gave Moses specific instructions concerning the tabernacle. This demonstrates that divine assignments are not to be executed according to personal preference but according to God's revealed will. Before building anything significant, we must first hear from God.

b) God Gives A Divine Blueprint (1 Chronicles 28:11-12)
David gave Solomon the pattern for the temple and explained that the design came by divine inspiration. God can give His servants a blueprint for accomplishing His purposes. What heaven has designed must not be altered by human convenience.

c) God Requires Faithfulness To His Pattern (Hebrews 8:5)
The earthly tabernacle was described as a shadow and example of heavenly realities. Moses was required to reproduce what God had shown him. Faithfulness means doing God's work God's way.

d) God Is Interested In The Details (Exodus 26:1-30)
God gave Moses detailed instructions about curtains, boards, sockets, coverings, and other components of the tabernacle. Nothing was insignificant in God's sight. We must therefore learn to value divine instructions, even when they concern things that appear small.

Biblical Example: Noah built the ark according to God's precise instructions. He did not redesign the ark according to his own understanding; he followed God's measurements and instructions, and the ark became the instrument through which his household was preserved (Genesis 6:14-22).

2. BUILDING ACCORDING TO GOD'S PATTERN REQUIRES OBEDIENCE

Knowing God's pattern is not enough; we must obey what He has shown us. Divine revelation becomes fruitful when it is translated into practical obedience.

a) Obedience Must Follow Revelation (James 1:22)
God does not reveal His will merely to increase our knowledge. He expects us to act on what He has revealed. A person who hears divine instructions but refuses to obey them cannot successfully build according to God's pattern.

b) Obedience Must Be Complete (1 Samuel 15:22)
Partial obedience is still disobedience. Saul lost his kingdom because he did not completely follow God's command. When God gives us instructions, we should not select the portions that are convenient and ignore the difficult ones.

c) Obedience Requires Trust (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Sometimes God's pattern may not make immediate sense to human reasoning. We must trust God even when His instructions appear contrary to our expectations. Faith allows us to obey what God says because we trust the wisdom of the One who gave the instruction.

d) Obedience Produces Divine Results (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
God connects obedience with blessing and advancement. When we walk according to His Word, we position ourselves within the boundaries of His purpose and promises.

Biblical Example: Abraham obeyed God's command to leave his country and kindred without knowing the complete destination. His obedience positioned him for the fulfilment of God's covenant (Genesis 12:1-4).

3. HUMAN WISDOM MUST NOT REPLACE DIVINE PATTERN

One of the greatest dangers in spiritual work is replacing God's instructions with human methods. Experience, education, intelligence, and expertise are valuable, but none should take the place of divine direction.

a) Human Wisdom Has Limitations (Proverbs 14:12)
A way may appear right to a person and yet lead to destruction. This is why our decisions must be submitted to God's Word rather than based solely on human reasoning.

b) God's Ways Are Higher (Isaiah 55:8-9)
God sees what we cannot see and knows what we do not know. His pattern may sometimes challenge our preferences, but His wisdom is superior to ours.

c) Success Must Be Measured By God's Standard (Galatians 1:10)
Popularity, applause, numbers, wealth, and recognition are not sufficient measures of spiritual success. The ultimate question is whether what we are building is pleasing to God.

d) We Must Avoid Copying Ungodly Patterns (Romans 12:2)
The world constantly presents patterns for success, leadership, family, wealth, and influence. Christians must refuse to conform to patterns that contradict God's Word and allow Scripture to transform their thinking.

Biblical Example: King Saul attempted to solve a spiritual problem through human reasoning when he offered a sacrifice instead of waiting for Samuel. His failure demonstrated the danger of substituting personal judgement for divine instruction (1 Samuel 13:8-14).

4. THE FOUNDATION MUST AGREE WITH GOD'S PATTERN

A beautiful structure with a faulty foundation cannot stand for long. Likewise, our lives and ministries must be established on the right spiritual foundation.

a) Christ Is The True Foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11)
No foundation can provide lasting stability like Jesus Christ. Everything we build must ultimately be centred on Him and established upon His Word.

b) The Word Of God Provides The Pattern (2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Scripture equips God's people for righteous living and good works. The Bible must therefore remain our authoritative guide for faith, conduct, ministry, and daily decisions.

c) Character Must Support Calling (Matthew 7:24-25)
Jesus compared those who hear and obey His words to a wise builder who constructs on a rock. Spiritual gifts without godly character cannot sustain a lasting ministry.

d) What Is Built On Christ Will Endure (Matthew 16:18)
Christ is building His Church, and the forces of hell cannot ultimately overcome what He establishes. When our lives and ministries align with Christ, we participate in something that has eternal significance.

Biblical Example: The wise man in Jesus' teaching built his house upon the rock. When the rain, floods, and winds came, the house remained standing because its foundation was secure (Matthew 7:24-25).

5. WE MUST REGULARLY CHECK WHAT WE ARE BUILDING

A wise builder does not simply start a project and walk away. Progress must be examined to ensure that the construction remains faithful to the original design.

a) Examine Your Spiritual Life (2 Corinthians 13:5)
We should regularly examine our faith, character, devotion, and relationship with God. Spiritual self-examination helps us identify areas where we have departed from God's pattern.

b) Examine Your Ministry (1 Corinthians 3:10)
Paul warned that every person should take heed how he builds. Ministers must continually evaluate whether their methods, motives, teachings, and priorities agree with God's Word.

c) Correct What Is Wrong (Revelation 2:4-5)
When God reveals that something has gone wrong, the appropriate response is repentance and correction. We must not defend what God is asking us to change.

d) Continue Until The Work Is Finished (Philippians 1:6)
God is interested not only in how we begin but also in how we finish. We must remain faithful to His pattern until the assignment is completed.

Biblical Example: The people rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem under Nehemiah's leadership faced opposition but continued working until the wall was completed. Their perseverance demonstrated the importance of remaining faithful to the assignment (Nehemiah 4:6; 6:15-16).

CONCLUSION

God has a pattern for everything He has called us to build. Whether it is our spiritual life, marriage, family, ministry, church, career, or destiny, we must not build according to the opinions of people or the standards of the world. The instruction remains clear: “See that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.” When God's pattern becomes our standard, our building will have divine approval and lasting value.

Therefore, let us return to the Word, seek God's direction, obey His instructions, and continually examine what we are building. It is not enough to build something impressive; we must build something that God approves. May we have the grace to build according to the heavenly pattern and finish our assignment faithfully, in Jesus' name.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, give me the grace to discover and understand Your divine pattern for my life, family, ministry, and destiny, in Jesus name.

2. Lord, deliver me from every human pattern that is contrary to Your perfect will for my life, in Jesus name.

3. Father, give me a heart that obeys Your instructions completely, even when they are difficult or contrary to my personal desires, in Jesus name.

4. Lord, help me to build my life firmly upon Jesus Christ and the unchanging foundation of Your Word, in Jesus name.

5. Father, expose every wrong foundation upon which I have been building and give me grace to make every necessary correction, in Jesus name.

6. Lord, deliver me from the temptation to substitute human wisdom, worldly standards, and personal ambition for Your divine direction, in Jesus name.

7. Father, give me spiritual sensitivity to recognise when I am departing from Your pattern and the humility to return to Your will, in Jesus name.

8. Lord, establish everything I am building according to Your purpose, and let nothing contrary to Your will destroy the work of my hands, in Jesus name.

9. Father, give me perseverance to continue building according to Your pattern despite opposition, delay, discouragement, or misunderstanding, in Jesus name.

10. Lord, help me to finish my assignment faithfully and let everything I build bring glory, honour, and praise to Your name, in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall receive divine understanding to recognise God's pattern for your life, and you shall not wander into paths that are contrary to His purpose for you.

2. You shall build your life upon Christ, and every storm that rises against you shall not have the power to destroy what God has established in your life.

3. You shall not be controlled by human wisdom, worldly standards, or ungodly counsel, but you shall walk continually in the wisdom and direction of God.

4. You shall receive grace to obey every divine instruction given to you, and your obedience shall position you for the fulfilment of God's promises.

5. You shall not build in vain; the works of your hands shall be established, strengthened, and preserved by the power of God.

6. Every faulty foundation affecting your progress shall be exposed and removed, and you shall rebuild upon the solid foundation of Jesus Christ.

7. You shall have spiritual sensitivity to recognise divine direction, and you shall not mistake human opinion for the voice and pattern of God.

8. You shall overcome every opposition that arises against the work God has committed into your hands, and you shall complete your assignment successfully.

9. You shall experience divine order in your family, ministry, career, and destiny, and everything concerning you shall increasingly align with God's perfect purpose.

10. You shall finish well, finish strong, and finish according to the heavenly pattern, and your life and labour shall become a testimony of God's faithfulness and glory.

Description

God does not preserve His people merely to keep them alive; He preserves them so that they may fulfil His purpose and experience His goodness. Psalm 91:14-16 concludes the psalm with powerful promises of deliverance, answered prayer, divine presence, honour, satisfaction, and salvation. This sermon calls believers to look beyond present challenges and confidently expect to see God's goodness in the land of the living.

INTRODUCTION

There are seasons when circumstances seem to suggest that the story will end in disappointment. Difficulties may surround a person, prayers may appear delayed, and the future may seem uncertain. Yet David made a remarkable declaration: “I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.” His faith was anchored in the expectation that God still had something good ahead of him.

Psalm 91 closes with God's own declaration concerning the person who loves Him, knows His name, and trusts Him. God promises, “I will deliver him,” “I will set him on high,” “I will answer him,” “I will be with him in trouble,” and “with long life will I satisfy him.” These words reveal a God who is personally involved in the lives of His people. He is not distant from our struggles; He is present in them and faithful to accomplish His purposes.

Therefore, we must refuse to allow present circumstances to determine our expectations of tomorrow. We shall see the goodness of the Lord. We shall live to testify, experience God's faithfulness, overcome adversity, and fulfil our divine assignments. Our confidence is not in human ability but in the Lord who preserves, delivers, answers, satisfies, and saves His people.

1. GOD WANTS YOU TO SEE HIS GOODNESS

God's goodness is part of the believer's testimony.

a) Believe You Will See Goodness (Psalm 27:13)
Faith enables us to expect God's goodness even when circumstances appear difficult.

b) Remember God's Goodness (Psalm 103:2)
Remembering previous blessings strengthens faith for present challenges.

c) Trust His Good Plans (Jeremiah 29:11)
God's purposes for His people are not designed for destruction.

d) Wait For The Lord (Psalm 27:14)
Divine delay does not mean divine denial.

Biblical Example: Joseph (Genesis 50:20). What appeared to be a terrible chapter became part of the story through which God preserved Joseph and many others.

2. I SHALL SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING

God's goodness is not merely a future expectation; we can experience His faithfulness in this life.

a) You Shall Live And Testify (Psalm 118:17)
God's preservation enables His people to declare His works.

b) You Shall Eat The Good Of The Land (Isaiah 1:19)
Obedience positions us to enjoy God's blessings according to His will.

c) You Shall Experience Restoration (Joel 2:25-26)
God is able to restore what has been lost and bring renewed joy.

d) You Shall Have A Testimony (Psalm 40:1-3)
God can transform seasons of waiting into seasons of testimony.

Biblical Example: Job (Job 42:10-17). After a season of severe trial, Job experienced restoration and saw the faithfulness of God.

3. GOD WILL DELIVER ME FROM TROUBLE

Psalm 91 does not deny that trouble exists; it promises God's presence and deliverance in trouble.

a) God Will Answer (Psalm 91:15)
God hears the cries of His people.

b) God Will Be With You (Psalm 91:15)
His presence remains with us even during difficult seasons.

c) God Will Deliver You (Psalm 34:19)
Though the righteous may experience many afflictions, God is able to deliver them.

d) God Will Honour You (Psalm 91:15)
God can turn seasons of shame and difficulty into seasons of honour.

Biblical Example: Daniel (Daniel 6:19-23). Daniel entered the lions' den, but God delivered him and turned his trial into a testimony.

4. I SHALL ENJOY DIVINE PRESERVATION AND LONG LIFE

God desires His people to fulfil their purposes before Him.

a) God Satisfies With Long Life (Psalm 91:16)
The psalm speaks of God's satisfying preservation.

b) God Preserves Your Going Out And Coming In (Psalm 121:7-8)
The Lord watches continually over His people.

c) God Preserves Your Destiny (Psalm 138:8)
God is able to complete what He has begun concerning your life.

d) God Will Fulfil His Purpose (Philippians 1:6)
God is faithful to complete the work He has begun in His people.

Biblical Example: Caleb (Joshua 14:10-13). Caleb testified that God had preserved him through the years and enabled him to continue pursuing God's promise.

5. I SHALL EXPERIENCE VICTORY OVER ADVERSITY

Your present battle does not determine your final outcome.

a) God Is Greater Than Your Enemies (Romans 8:31)
If God is for us, opposition cannot ultimately defeat His purpose.

b) No Weapon Shall Prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
God promises to defend His servants against weapons formed against them.

c) God Gives Victory (1 Corinthians 15:57)
Victory ultimately comes through Jesus Christ.

d) We Are More Than Conquerors (Romans 8:37)
Through Christ, believers can overcome adversity with confidence in God's love.

Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:20-22). Judah trusted God, worshipped Him, and witnessed divine intervention against overwhelming opposition.

6. I SHALL SEE ANSWERS TO MY PRAYERS

God hears the prayers of His people.

a) Call Upon God (Jeremiah 33:3)
God invites His people to call upon Him.

b) Pray With Faith (Mark 11:24)
Faith-filled prayer expresses confidence in God's ability to answer.

c) Pray According To God's Will (1 John 5:14)
Effective prayer is aligned with God's purposes.

d) Wait For God's Answer (Psalm 40:1)
Sometimes the answer requires patient waiting.

Biblical Example: Hannah (1 Samuel 1:10-20). Hannah prayed persistently, waited upon God, and eventually received Samuel as an answer to prayer.

7. MY TESTIMONY SHALL BRING GLORY TO GOD

God's goodness should result in joyful testimony.

a) Declare His Works (Psalm 118:17)
Those who experience God's preservation should testify.

b) Tell Others What God Has Done (Mark 5:19)
Our testimony can become a means of encouraging others.

c) Praise God For His Faithfulness (Psalm 107:1-2)
Thanksgiving acknowledges God's goodness.

d) Give God All The Glory (Psalm 115:1)
Our testimony should point people to God rather than ourselves.

Biblical Example: The man delivered from demons (Mark 5:18-20). Jesus instructed him to tell others what the Lord had done for him.

CONCLUSION

The conclusion of Psalm 91 is a powerful reminder that God is not only interested in preserving us from danger; He wants us to experience His presence, deliverance, answers to prayer, honour, satisfaction, and salvation. We may pass through difficult seasons, but those seasons do not have the authority to cancel God's purpose. The God who kept us through yesterday is the same God who will preserve us tomorrow.

Therefore, lift your eyes beyond your present circumstances and declare with faith: “I SHALL SEE THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING.” You shall live to testify. You shall see God's faithfulness concerning your family and destiny. You shall overcome adversity, experience divine preservation, and rejoice in the goodness of God. Your story will not end in tragedy; it will end in testimony, because the Lord is your keeper and your salvation.

PRAYER POINTS

Description

God has provided spiritual protection for His people, and Scripture reveals that angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who inherit salvation. This sermon explores God's use of angels in preservation, guidance, deliverance, and the fulfilment of His purposes. Believers are encouraged to trust God rather than angels, knowing that angels act according to God's command and authority.

INTRODUCTION

The Bible reveals that the visible world is not the only realm of existence. There is also a spiritual realm, and God has created angels who serve according to His purposes. Psalm 91:11 declares that God gives His angels charge concerning His people, while Hebrews 1:14 describes them as “ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation.” This gives us another reason to trust the preserving power of God.

Throughout Scripture, angels appeared at critical moments to protect, guide, strengthen, deliver, and assist God's servants. An angel shut the mouths of lions when Daniel was in the den. Angels helped Peter escape from prison. Angels strengthened Jesus after His temptation. Angels appeared to Joseph and Mary at significant moments surrounding the birth of Christ.

However, our faith must remain centred on God, not on angels. We do not worship angels, pray to angels, or command them according to our own desires. God is the One who sends them, and they act according to His will. Therefore, our confidence is this: the God who watches over us can deploy whatever means He chooses, including His angels to preserve us and accomplish His purpose.

1. GOD HAS PROVIDED ANGELS TO SERVE HIS PURPOSES

Angels are God's servants, not substitutes for God.

a) Angels Are Ministering Spirits (Hebrews 1:14)
Angels serve God's purposes in relation to those who belong to Him.

b) Angels Obey God's Word (Psalm 103:20)
Their activity is directed by God's command.

c) Angels Belong To God's Heavenly Host (Psalm 103:21)
They serve under the authority of the Almighty.

d) Angels Glorify God (Luke 2:13–14)
Their ministry ultimately points to the glory and purposes of God.

Biblical Example: The angels at Bethlehem (Luke 2:8–14). They announced the birth of Christ and directed attention to God's great salvation plan.

2. GOD CAN ASSIGN ANGELS FOR YOUR PRESERVATION

Divine preservation is ultimately God's work, and angels can be instruments through which He provides it.

a) Angels Can Guard God's People (Psalm 91:11)
God promises angelic ministry in the preservation of His people.

b) Angels Can Protect In Dangerous Situations (Psalm 34:7)
The angel of the Lord is described as encamping around those who fear Him.

c) Angels Can Deliver From Danger (Acts 12:7)
An angel helped Peter escape from prison.

d) Angels Can Carry Out God's Instructions (Exodus 23:20)
God sent an angel ahead of Israel to guide them.

Biblical Example: Daniel (Daniel 6:22). Daniel testified that God sent His angel and shut the mouths of the lions.

3. ANGELS CAN BE INVOLVED IN THE PRESERVATION OF YOUR JOURNEY

God can use His heavenly servants as part of His guidance and protection.

a) God Goes Before His People (Exodus 23:20)
God promised to send an angel ahead of Israel.

b) God Directs The Steps Of His People (Psalm 37:23)
The Lord establishes the steps of those who trust Him.

c) God Can Protect Travellers (Psalm 121:7-8)
The Lord watches over our going out and coming in.

d) God Can Intervene In Unexpected Situations (Acts 27:23-24)
An angel appeared to Paul with assurance during a dangerous voyage.

Biblical Example: Paul (Acts 27:21-25). In the middle of a violent storm, God sent an angel to assure Paul that his life and the lives of those travelling with him would be preserved.

4. ANGELS CAN BE INVOLVED IN DIVINE DELIVERANCE

God can intervene supernaturally when His people face overwhelming circumstances.

a) Angels Can Break Chains (Acts 12:7)
Peter's chains fell from his hands through God's intervention.

b) Angels Can Shut The Mouths Of Lions (Daniel 6:22)
God sent His angel to preserve Daniel.

c) Angels Can Defeat Hostile Forces (2 Kings 19:35)
God used an angel to bring judgment against the Assyrian army.

d) Angels Can Strengthen God's Servants (Luke 22:43)
An angel strengthened Jesus during His agony in Gethsemane.

Their ministry serves God's purposes for those who belong to Him.

d) Angels Can Participate In Divine Assignment (Acts 8:26)
An angel directed Philip towards a significant divine appointment.

Biblical Example: Philip (Acts 8:26-39). God's direction brought Philip to the Ethiopian official, resulting in the proclamation of the Gospel.

6. TRUST GOD, NOT ANGELS

Our worship and dependence must always remain centred on God.

God alone deserves our worship.

b) Do Not Worship Angels (Revelation 22:8-9)
The angel instructed John to worship God rather than the angel.

c) Christ Is Above Angels (Hebrews 1:4-6)

7. LIVE UNDER GOD'S PRESERVING COVERING

The promise of angelic protection should strengthen our confidence in God and encourage holy living.

Divine preservation is connected with abiding in God.

The angels are sent to keep God's people in their ways.

Every divine intervention should ultimately result in glory being given to God.

CONCLUSION

The ministry of angels reminds us that God's provision is greater than what our natural eyes can see. There are dimensions of God's activity that we may never fully understand. When Scripture says that God gives His angels charge concerning His people, we are reminded that the Lord is actively involved in preserving those who belong to Him. He can use angels, people, circumstances, wisdom, divine direction, and countless other means to accomplish His purpose.

Therefore, do not live in fear. Do not worship angels or attempt to command them according to personal desires. Instead, trust the God who commands them. Dwell in His presence, walk in His ways, pray continually, exercise wisdom, and commit your life, family, journeys, and destiny into His hands. May the Lord deploy His preserving power according to His will, and may His angels serve His purposes concerning you as you remain under the covering of the Almighty.

INTRODUCTION

A snare is a trap designed to catch its victim without warning. The victim may not see it until it is too late. In the same way, life can contain hidden traps—wrong decisions, deceptive relationships, destructive opportunities, dangerous environments, and schemes designed to cause harm. Scripture does not teach believers to become suspicious of everyone, but it does teach us to walk wisely and depend upon God for discernment and protection.

Psalm 91:3 declares that God “shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler.” Psalm 124 gives another powerful picture of God's intervention: “Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers.” The emphasis is not on the strength of the bird but on the power of the One who breaks the trap. What human beings cannot detect or escape by themselves, God is able to expose and deliver them from.

Therefore, the believer must not live in fear of hidden schemes. Our confidence is in the Lord, who knows what we do not know and sees what we cannot see. We must pray for discernment, obey divine instructions, avoid unnecessary risks, and trust God to preserve us. The snare may be hidden, but the God who delivers us sees everything.

1. UNDERSTAND THE NATURE OF THE ENEMY'S SNARES

Not every danger announces itself openly.

A trap is effective because it is often concealed from its intended victim.

2. GOD IS ABLE TO DELIVER FROM HIDDEN DANGERS

Our greatest confidence is in God's ability to rescue.

3. ESCAPE FROM THE SNARE THROUGH DIVINE WISDOM

God's protection often comes through divine guidance.

God gives wisdom generously to those who ask Him.

b) Acknowledge God In Your Decisions (Proverbs 3:5-6)
God promises direction to those who trust Him rather than relying solely on their own understanding.

c) Recognise Danger Early (Proverbs 22:3)
Wisdom teaches us to identify danger and respond appropriately.

d) Listen To Godly Counsel (Proverbs 11:14)
Wise counsel can prevent destructive decisions.

Biblical Example: Joseph (Genesis 39:7-12). Joseph recognised the danger of Potiphar's wife's temptation and deliberately escaped from the situation.

4. GOD CAN BREAK THE TRAP BEFORE IT CATCHES YOU

Sometimes God's deliverance comes by preventing the trap from succeeding.

a) The Snare Is Broken (Psalm 124:7)
The believer's hope is in the Lord who can break every destructive trap.

b) God Can Redirect Your Steps (Psalm 37:23)
God is able to establish the steps of those who trust Him.

c) God Can Close Wrong Doors (Revelation 3:7)
God controls doors of opportunity and can prevent access to what would destroy us.

d) God Can Reveal The Enemy's Plan (2 Kings 6:8-12)
God gave Elisha supernatural insight into the plans of the enemy.

Biblical Example: Elisha (2 Kings 6:8-12). God repeatedly revealed the enemy's strategy, preventing Israel from falling into ambushes.

5. THE LORD CAN DELIVER FROM EVIL PLOTS

God is greater than every scheme formed against His people.

a) No Weapon Shall Prosper (Isaiah 54:17)
God promises to defend His servants against weapons formed against them.

b) God Is A Shield (Psalm 3:3)
He surrounds His people with His protection.

c) God Can Turn Evil Into Good (Genesis 50:20)
Human beings may intend harm, but God can redirect circumstances towards His purposes.

d) God Is Faithful To Guard His People (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
The Lord strengthens and protects His people from evil.

Biblical Example: Joseph (Genesis 37-50). The evil actions of his brothers did not destroy God's purpose for his life.

6. STAND IN THE AUTHORITY OF CHRIST

Believers have spiritual authority through their relationship with Christ.

Jesus defeated the powers of darkness through His finished work.

b) Resist The Devil (James 4:7)
Believers are instructed to submit to God and resist the devil.

God provides spiritual armour for believers to stand against the schemes of the enemy.

7. GIVE GOD THANKS FOR EVERY DELIVERANCE

Some traps we recognise; others we may never know existed.

Do not forget the benefits and interventions of God.

b) Give Thanks For His Protection (Psalm 124:6)
The psalmist praised God because He did not allow the enemy to prevail.

c) Testify Of His Goodness (Psalm 40:1-3)
Your testimony can strengthen the faith of others.

d) Continue Trusting God (Psalm 37:5)
Past deliverance should increase our confidence in God for the future.

Biblical Example: David (Psalm 124:1-8). David recognised that Israel's survival was entirely dependent upon the Lord's intervention.

CONCLUSION

The enemy may set snares, but God sees every trap. He knows the plans of people, the schemes of darkness, the dangers ahead, and the paths we cannot see. Our responsibility is to remain close to Him, pray for discernment, obey His instructions, walk wisely, and stand firmly in the authority we have through Christ. We must never allow fear of hidden dangers to replace our confidence in God.

Psalm 124 gives us a powerful testimony: “The snare is broken, and we are escaped.” Therefore, whatever trap may have been prepared against you, trust the Lord who is able to deliver. The trap shall not become your tomb; the snare shall not become your destiny; and the scheme of the enemy shall not overturn God's purpose for your life. The Lord is your deliverer and your keeper.

INTRODUCTION

The world is filled with uncertainties. People face dangers at home, on the road, at work, during travel, and in their daily activities. Sometimes the greatest challenge is not only the danger itself but the fear of what might happen. Psalm 91 directs our attention away from fear and towards God. It declares that when the Lord is our habitation, we can rest in His protection and faithfulness.

The psalmist says, “Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation.” Then comes the powerful assurance: “There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.” The promise begins with making God our habitation. God's protection is not an invitation to recklessness; it is a call to trust, obedience, wisdom, and dependence upon Him.

Therefore, the believer can confidently declare, “NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL ME.” This declaration does not mean that Christians are incapable of experiencing hardship or that we should ignore practical safety. Rather, it expresses our confidence in God's preserving power and our commitment to walk under His authority. We trust God with our homes, families, journeys, possessions, and future.

1. MAKE GOD YOUR HABITATION

The foundation of divine protection is a relationship with God.

God's presence should be our permanent dwelling place rather than a place we visit only in times of trouble.

We must place our ultimate confidence in the Lord.

Joshua deliberately chose to establish his household in the service of God.

Job consistently interceded for his children and family.

Biblical Example: Noah (Genesis 7:1). Noah's household entered the ark according to God's instruction and was preserved through the flood.

3. COVER YOUR FAMILY IN PRAYER

Families need spiritual leadership, prayer, and wise care.

Hannah dedicated Samuel to the Lord and entrusted his future to God.

b) Pray For Their Protection (Psalm 121:7-8)
God is able to preserve every member of the household.

c) Teach Them God's Ways (Proverbs 22:6)
Spiritual instruction helps children develop a foundation of godliness.

d) Lead By Example (1 Corinthians 11:1)
A parent's life can become a powerful example to the next generation.

Biblical Example: Job (Job 1:1-5). Job combined godly living with consistent intercession for his family.

4. TRUST GOD WITH YOUR JOURNEYS

Every journey should be committed to God.

The Lord watches over our going out and coming in.

Beginning the day with prayer helps us consciously depend upon God.

5. COMMIT YOUR POSSESSIONS TO GOD

Everything we have ultimately belongs to God.

The earth and everything in it belong to the Lord.

Honouring God with our possessions demonstrates our dependence upon Him.

God gives us ability to create and manage resources.

d) Trust God For Preservation (Psalm 121:7)
We can commit our possessions to God while exercising proper care and responsibility.

Biblical Example: Job (Job 1:10). Job recognised that his possessions were ultimately under God's sovereign care.

6. GOD'S PROTECTION IS GREATER THAN THE THREATS AROUND YOU

God's power is greater than any threat.

God promises to defend His servants against hostile schemes.

b) God Is Greater Than Your Enemies (2 Kings 6:16)
Elisha reminded his servant that those with them were greater than those against them.

Faith in God's protection must be accompanied by responsible living.

When fear arises, deliberately choose to trust God.

Believers should make careful and responsible choices.

Continual prayer keeps us dependent upon God.

CONCLUSION

The declaration “NO EVIL SHALL BEFALL ME” is a declaration of faith in God's preserving power. Our confidence is not in our ability to control every circumstance, but in the Lord who watches over us. He is concerned about our homes, families, journeys, possessions, and destiny. When we make Him our habitation, we can rest in His presence and trust His faithfulness.

Therefore, do not allow fear to control your heart. Commit your home to God, cover your family in prayer, dedicate your journeys to Him, manage your possessions wisely, and continually abide in His presence. Trust God while taking responsible precautions. May the Lord preserve you, your household, your journeys, your possessions, and your divine assignment, and may His protective presence remain with you all the days of your life.

God is the giver and sustainer of life. The believer is called to live with confidence in God's preserving power rather than under the fear of accidents, premature death, or sudden calamity. INTRODUCTION

The fear of premature death and unexpected tragedy can become a heavy burden on the human heart. Accidents, sudden disasters, violence, and unexpected losses remind us that life is fragile. Yet Scripture teaches us that our lives are in the hands of God. The psalmist confidently declared, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.” This is a declaration of confidence in God's preserving power and purpose.

God has a purpose for every life. Before Jeremiah was born, God declared that He had ordained him for a purpose (Jeremiah 1:5). Jesus also taught that our lives are valuable in the sight of God (Matthew 10:29-31). Therefore, believers should not live in constant fear of what might happen tomorrow. We should trust the Lord, seek His wisdom, walk carefully, and commit our lives into His hands.

Divine preservation does not mean that believers should become careless or assume that no danger can ever occur. Rather, it means we trust God's sovereignty, obey His Word, exercise wisdom, and refuse to allow fear to control us. Our confidence is that God's purpose for our lives cannot be frustrated by the threats around us. We shall live, fulfil our God-given assignment, and declare the works of the Lord.

1. GOD IS THE AUTHOR AND SUSTAINER OF LIFE

Our lives ultimately belong to God.

a) God Gives Life (Genesis 2:7)
Human life originates from God, and He remains the source of our existence.

b) God Knows Our Days (Psalm 139:16)
Nothing concerning our lives is hidden from God.

c) God Has A Purpose For Our Lives (Jeremiah 1:5)
God's purpose for a person begins before human beings recognise it.

d) God Sustains His Creation (Colossians 1:16-17)
All things are held together by Christ.

Biblical Example: Moses (Deuteronomy 34:7). Moses remained strong even in old age and fulfilled his assignment before his earthly journey ended.

2. REJECT THE FEAR OF PREMATURE DEATH

Fear should not become the controlling force of the believer's life.

a) God Has Not Given Us Fear (2 Timothy 1:7)
Fear does not come from God; He gives power, love, and a sound mind.

b) Trust God In Uncertain Times (Psalm 56:3–4)
When fear arises, we should deliberately put our trust in God.

c) Walk By Faith (2 Corinthians 5:7)
Faith enables us to live according to God's Word rather than according to fearful predictions.

d) Keep Your Heart In Peace (Isaiah 26:3)
God gives perfect peace to those whose minds are fixed upon Him.

Biblical Example: David (1 Samuel 23:14). Although Saul pursued David, David continued to trust God rather than surrender to fear.

3. GOD CAN PRESERVE YOU FROM ACCIDENTS AND DANGER

The Lord is able to protect His people in their daily activities.

a) God Preserves Your Going Out (Psalm 121:8)
God watches over the journeys and activities of His people.

b) God Preserves Your Coming In (Psalm 121:8)
His keeping power extends to every aspect of our daily lives.

c) God Is With You In Dangerous Situations (Isaiah 43:2)
God promises His presence when His people pass through waters and fire.

d) God Gives Wisdom For Safety (Proverbs 22:3)
Wisdom teaches us to recognise danger and take appropriate precautions.

Biblical Example: Paul (Acts 27:21-25, 44). Paul survived a severe shipwreck because God had a purpose for him to fulfil.

4. GOD'S PRESERVATION EXTENDS TO YOUR FAMILY

God cares about the welfare of our households.

a) Pray For Your Household (Job 1:5)
Job regularly interceded for his children.

b) Teach Your Family God's Ways (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
A godly household should be intentionally built around God's Word.

c) Trust God With Your Household (Joshua 24:15)
Joshua made a deliberate decision that his entire household would serve the Lord.

d) Commit Your Family To God (Psalm 127:1)
Our efforts to protect and build our homes must be submitted to God.

Biblical Example: Noah (Genesis 7:1). Noah's household entered the ark and was preserved through the flood.

5. STAND UPON GOD'S WORD FOR LONG LIFE AND PURPOSE

Scripture gives believers promises that encourage confidence in God's care.

a) Declare The Works Of The Lord (Psalm 118:17)
Our declaration should be centred on God's purpose and testimony.

b) Trust God's Promise Of Preservation (Psalm 91:16)
God promises satisfaction with long life to those who dwell under His covering.

c) Receive God's Peace (Isaiah 65:20)
Isaiah presents a picture of longevity and the removal of premature death.

d) Believe God's Faithfulness (2 Thessalonians 3:3)
The Lord is faithful to strengthen and guard His people.

Biblical Example: Caleb (Joshua 14:10-13). Caleb testified that God had preserved him for decades and enabled him to continue pursuing the promise.

6. LIVE TO FULFIL YOUR GOD-GIVEN ASSIGNMENT

We should desire not merely to live long, but to live purposefully.

a) Discover Your Assignment (Ephesians 2:10)
God has prepared good works for His people to accomplish.

b) Fulfil Your Ministry (2 Timothy 4:5)
Paul encouraged Timothy to fulfil his ministry faithfully.

c) Finish Your Race (2 Timothy 4:7)
The goal is to complete the race God has given us.

d) Live For God's Glory (1 Corinthians 10:31)
Our lives should ultimately bring honour to God.

Biblical Example: Paul (Acts 20:24). Paul valued completing the ministry entrusted to him above personal comfort.

7. MAINTAIN A LIFESTYLE OF DIVINE DEPENDENCE

Preservation should lead us closer to God rather than make us careless.

a) Pray Continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Prayer keeps us dependent upon God.

b) Walk In Wisdom (Ephesians 5:15)
Faith does not cancel responsibility; believers should walk carefully.

c) Obey God's Instructions (Deuteronomy 28:1–2)
Obedience positions us to walk in God's ways.

d) Give Thanks For God's Preservation (Psalm 103:2–5)
We should continually remember and appreciate God's benefits.

Biblical Example: Daniel (Daniel 6:10). Daniel maintained his prayer life despite threats against his life.

CONCLUSION

God wants His children to live without being dominated by the fear of premature death. Our confidence is not in human strength or the ability to predict every danger; our confidence is in the Lord. He is our refuge, our fortress, our keeper, and our Shepherd. We can therefore declare with faith, “I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.”

At the same time, biblical faith must be accompanied by wisdom. We should pray, obey God's Word, avoid unnecessary risks, practise responsible safety, and seek appropriate help when needed. We trust God while doing our part responsibly. May the Lord preserve you and your household, grant you wisdom, and enable you to live fully for His glory and fulfil the assignment He has entrusted to you.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, thank You because You are the giver, sustainer, and keeper of my life, in Jesus name.

2. Lord, deliver me from every fear of premature death, sudden tragedy, and unexpected calamity, in Jesus name.

3. Father, preserve me from accidents, disasters, and every form of danger according to Your will, in Jesus name.

4. Lord, preserve my going out and my coming in, and keep me under Your divine covering, in Jesus name.

5. Father, preserve my spouse, children, household, and loved ones from evil and calamity, in Jesus name.

6. Lord, give me divine wisdom to recognise danger and make safe and responsible decisions, in Jesus name.

7. Father, let no power truncate the purpose and assignment You have ordained for my life, in Jesus name.

8. Lord, preserve me to fulfil the number of my days and complete my God-given assignment, in Jesus name.

9. Father, let my life become a testimony of Your preserving power and faithfulness, in Jesus name.

10. Lord, I declare that I shall live, fulfil Your purpose, and declare the works of the Lord all the days of my life, in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall live and not die before the fulfilment of God's purpose for your life.

2. The Lord shall preserve you from sudden and unexpected tragedy.

3. You shall not become a victim of accidents or preventable dangers.

4. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in.

5. Your household shall remain under the preserving hand of God.

6. Every journey you undertake shall be covered by God's wisdom and protection.

7. You shall not be cut short in the middle of your divine assignment.

8. You shall live to see the fruit of your labour and declare God's goodness.

9. The Lord shall preserve your destiny, ministry, family, and divine purpose.

10. Therefore, by faith in God's Word, I SHALL NOT DIE, BUT LIVE, AND DECLARE THE WORKS OF THE LORD. I AM PRESERVED TO FULFIL MY GOD-GIVEN ASSIGNMENT, AND MY HOUSEHOLD IS UNDER THE CARE OF THE ALMIGHTY, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
