Sermon Title: BREAKING INTO NEW DIMENSIONS
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 43:18-19, Philippians 3:13-14, Joshua 1:1-9
By Rev. Samuel Arimoro
INTRODUCTION:
We often reach points in our lives where we feel stuck or stagnant, where it seems as though we've hit a ceiling, unable to break through to what lies beyond. However, God calls us to break into new dimensions—new levels of faith, experience, influence, and purpose. Breaking into new dimensions is not only about personal growth but about advancing God's kingdom through our lives.
#1. RECOGNIZE THE NEED FOR NEW DIMENSIONS (Isaiah 43:18-19)
- Isaiah 43:18-19: "Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?"
- The prophet Isaiah urges us to move beyond our past. The "former things" can represent past successes or failures. Sometimes, we get so fixated on what has been that we fail to see what could be.
- God wants us to perceive the new things He is doing in our lives. New dimensions require a shift in perspective and a willingness to let go of what is behind them.
2. PREPARE SPIRITUALLY AND MENTALLY FOR A NEW DIMENSION (Philippians 3:13-14)
- Philippians 3:13-14: "Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
- The apostle Paul expresses a powerful truth—breaking into new dimensions requires a focused mindset. He forgets what is behind him and strains toward what is ahead.
- This requires discipline and intentionality. We must ask ourselves: Are we prepared to leave behind comfort zones, fears, and doubts to pursue what God has for us?
3. EMBRACE GOD’S PROMISES AND INSTRUCTIONS (Joshua 1:1-9)
- Joshua 1:1-9: After the death of Moses, God commissions Joshua to lead the Israelites into the Promised Land. Joshua is instructed to be "strong and courageous" and to meditate on God's Word day and night.
- To break into new dimensions, we must embrace God's promises. The Lord told Joshua that every place he set his foot would be given to him, but he needed to be strong, courageous, and obedient.
- God's Word and promises serve as the foundation for moving into new dimensions. We must meditate on the Word, believe in it, and act on it.
4. OVERCOME OBSTACLES AND CHALLENGES (2 Corinthians 10:4-5)
- 2 Corinthians 10:4-5: "The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds."
- Breaking into new dimensions often involves spiritual warfare. There are strongholds—mental, emotional, spiritual, and even physical—that try to prevent us from advancing.
- We must use spiritual weapons—prayer, the Word of God, faith, and fasting—to break these barriers. Like the Israelites faced the walls of Jericho, we too must confront and overcome the walls in our lives.
5. TRUST IN GOD'S TIMING AND DIRECTION (Ecclesiastes 3:1, Isaiah 40:31)
- Ecclesiastes 3:1: "To everything, there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven."
- Isaiah 40:31: "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
- God's timing is crucial in breaking into new dimensions. Sometimes, we are ready, but the timing is not right. Other times, the timing is right, but we are not prepared.
- Trusting God means waiting on Him and following His direction. When we do, He renews our strength and empowers us to soar above obstacles.
6. ACTIVATE FAITH AND STEP OUT (Matthew 14:28-29)
-Matthew 14:28-29: Peter walked on water when he stepped out of the boat at Jesus' command. Though he began to sink when he saw the wind, the initial step was a demonstration of faith.
- Breaking into new dimensions requires us to step out in faith, even when circumstances seem impossible. Faith is not passive; it is active. It calls for bold action aligned with God's word and direction.
- Like Peter, we might falter, but Jesus is always there to lift us. We must be willing to step out of our "boats"—the places of comfort and familiarity.
7. ALIGN WITH DIVINE PURPOSE AND ASSIGNMENT (Jeremiah 1:5, Ephesians 2:10)
- Jeremiah 1:5: "Before I formed you in the womb, I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations."
- Ephesians 2:10: "For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
- God has a divine purpose for each of us, and breaking into new dimensions often means stepping into a greater understanding and execution of that purpose.
- When we align ourselves with God's plans, we experience breakthroughs that lead us into new dimensions of impact, influence, and fulfilment.
8. CULTIVATE A LIFESTYLE OF PRAYER AND DEPENDENCE ON THE HOLY SPIRIT (Acts 1:8, Zechariah 4:6)
- Acts 1:8: "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses..."
- Zechariah 4:6: "Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty."
- To break into new dimensions, we need the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. It is not by our strength or wisdom but by His Spirit.
- A life of prayer keeps us connected to God's voice, guidance, and power. The more we depend on the Holy Spirit, the more we are equipped to break barriers and step into new dimensions.
CONCLUSION:
Breaking into new dimensions is a divine call to leave behind the old, embrace the new, and step out in faith and obedience to God’s Word. It involves spiritual preparation, overcoming challenges, trusting God’s timing, and relying on the Holy Spirit. Today, God is calling you to break forth into new dimensions—are you ready to take that step?
