THE GOD OF POSSIBILITIES

TITLE: THE GOD OF POSSIBILITIES

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Text: Matthew 19:26 - Jesus looked at them and said, 'With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.

INTRODUCTION
Life is filled with moments where we face what seems to be impossible situations—those times when it looks like there's no way out, and every effort appears futile. But as believers, we are reminded that we serve the God of possibilities. Jesus' statement in Matthew 19:26 is a powerful reminder that our limitations are not God's limitations. What seems impossible to man is possible with God. Today, we will explore the nature of the God of possibilities and how we can activate His power in our lives.

1. UNDERSTANDING THE NATURE OF THE GOD OF POSSIBILITIES

   The Omnipotence of God:
God is all-powerful and has authority over all creation (Jeremiah 32:17 - *"Ah, Sovereign LORD, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you."*).

   God's Infinite Wisdom
What may seem impossible for humans is a simple task for God because His wisdom is beyond human understanding (Isaiah 55:8-9 - *"For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD.*).

2. BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF THE GOD OF POSSIBILITIES:

Abraham and Sarah (Genesis 18:10-14; 21:1-7)
Despite their old age and Sarah's barrenness, God promised them a son. At 100 and 90 years old, respectively, God fulfilled His promise, and Isaac was born. God asked, *"Is anything too hard for the LORD?"* to demonstrate His limitless power.

The Red Sea Crossing (Exodus 14:21-22)
The Israelites were trapped between the Red Sea and Pharaoh’s advancing army. In what seemed like a hopeless situation, God parted the sea, allowing them to cross on dry ground. What was impossible became possible by God’s intervention.

David and Goliath (1 Samuel 17)
A young shepherd boy with a sling and stones faced a giant warrior, Goliath. Despite the impossibility of this battle, David declared, *"The battle is the LORD’s,"* and God gave him victory.

Mary, the Virgin Mother of Jesus (Luke 1:26-38)
When the angel Gabriel announced to Mary that she would conceive and bear a son while still a virgin, it seemed humanly impossible. Yet, the angel assured her, *"For with God nothing will be impossible."* Mary’s humble response of faith led to the miraculous birth of Jesus.

Feeding of the 5,000 (Matthew 14:13-21)
With only five loaves of bread and two fish, Jesus fed more than 5,000 people. This miracle demonstrated that God can provide abundantly, even in situations where there appears to be a lack.

3. HOW TO ACTIVATE THE POWER OF THE GOD OF POSSIBILITIES

  Faith is Key
Faith is the currency of the kingdom of God. Hebrews 11:6 says, *"And without faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."* Faith opens the door for the impossible to become possible.

Persistent Prayer
Prayer is a powerful tool that connects us with the God of possibilities. James 5:16b says, *"The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective."* Prayer invites God into our situation, and when God steps in, impossibilities bow.

  Speak the Word of God
God’s Word carries power. When we declare His promises, we activate the supernatural in our lives. Isaiah 55:11 - *"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

Obedience to God’s Instructions
Miracles often follow obedience. The Israelites marched around Jericho as God instructed, and the walls fell (Joshua 6). Obeying God’s Word positions us for His possibilities.

Trust in God's Timing
Ecclesiastes 3:11 tells us that God makes everything beautiful in its time. Sometimes, the impossibility is a matter of timing. Trust that God knows the perfect time to manifest His power.

4. OUR RESPONSE TO THE GOD OF POSSIBILITIES

Walk in Boldness and Courage:
Like David, face your "giants" with confidence, knowing that the God of possibilities is with you.

Live a Life of Testimony
Share what God has done in your life. Revelation 12:11 says, *"They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony."* Your testimony can inspire faith in others.

Remain in Expectation
Expect God to do great things. Mark 11:24 says, *"Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours."* Live with the expectation that God can and will show Himself strong on your behalf.

CONCLUSION
The God we serve is the God of possibilities. No matter how daunting the circumstances, how deep the valley is, or how high the mountain is, remember that nothing is too difficult for God. When you align your faith, prayer, and obedience with His will, you will experience His limitless power turning impossibilities into possibilities.
