By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: 1 Samuel 1:9-20

INTRODUCTION:
The desire for children is a natural and God-given yearning. For those trusting God for a baby, the journey can be challenging, but the Bible is filled with testimonies of individuals who waited on God and experienced His faithfulness. Trusting God means holding on to His promises, believing that He is able to do what seems impossible.

1. GOD’S PROMISE CONCERNING FRUITFULNESS

a) Fruitfulness Is God’s Will:
"Be fruitful and multiply" is God’s command and blessing (Genesis 1:28).

b) God’s Promise to His People:
None shall be barren in the land (Exodus 23:26).

c) Children Are a Heritage from the Lord:
They are a reward and a blessing (Psalm 127:3).

d) God Opens the Womb:
He is the one who gives life and opens the womb (Genesis 30:22).

Biblical Example: God fulfilled His promise to Sarah, and she bore Isaac in her old age (Genesis 21:1-3).

2. TRUSTING GOD IN THE WAITING SEASON

a) Strengthening Faith Through Prayer:
Like Hannah, pour your heart out to God (1 Samuel 1:10).

b) Trusting in God’s Timing:
God’s timing is perfect, and He makes everything beautiful in His time (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

c) Standing on God’s Word:
Meditate on and confess scriptures that affirm God’s promises (Isaiah 55:11).

d) Avoiding Fear and Doubt:
Trusting God requires rejecting fear and standing firm in faith (2 Timothy 1:7).

Biblical Example: Elizabeth and Zechariah trusted God despite their old age, and John the Baptist was born (Luke 1:13).

3. GOD’S FAITHFULNESS TO HIS PROMISES

a) God Is Not a Man That He Should Lie:
Every promise He makes, He will fulfill (Numbers 23:19).

b) He Watches Over His Word:
God ensures that His word will not return void (Isaiah 55:11).

c) Testimonies Build Faith:
The stories of others who have trusted God encourage us to believe (Romans 15:4).

d) God’s Faithfulness in Every Generation:
He remains the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Biblical Example: Rachel, who initially struggled with barrenness, was remembered by God, and she bore Joseph (Genesis 30:22-24).

4. ACTIVATING YOUR FAITH FOR A MIRACLE

a) Declare God’s Promises Daily:
Speak life over your situation (Proverbs 18:21).

b) Engage in Thanksgiving and Praise:
Thank God in advance for your miracle (Philippians 4:6).

c) Sow Seeds of Faith:
Give sacrificially as an act of trust in God (2 Corinthians 9:6-8).

d) Surround Yourself with Faith-Builders:
Stay connected to those who will encourage and pray with you (Hebrews 10:24-25).

Biblical Example: Hannah returned to the temple in thanksgiving after receiving her miracle (1 Samuel 1:24-28).

5. TESTIFYING TO GOD’S GOODNESS

a) Acknowledge God’s Hand in Your Miracle:
Share your testimony to glorify God (Psalm 105:1-2).

b) Encourage Others in Their Journey:
Use your testimony to build others’ faith (Revelation 12:11).

c) Dedicate Your Child to God:
Like Hannah, offer your child to the Lord’s service (1 Samuel 1:27-28).

d) Continue to Walk in Faith:
Trust God for continued blessings and favour (Colossians 2:6-7).

Biblical Example: Sarah and Abraham celebrated and testified of God’s faithfulness after Isaac’s birth (Genesis 21:6-7).

CONCLUSION:
Trusting God for a baby requires unwavering faith, patience, and a heart full of hope. God, who has done it before, will do it again. His promises never fail, and in His perfect timing, He will bring joy and laughter to your home.
