SECURE IN GOD'S PRESENCE

SECURE IN GOD'S PRESENCE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Psalm 27:5
Supporting Texts: Psalm 91:1-2, Isaiah 41:10, Proverbs 18:10, Colossians 3:3

INTRODUCTION:
Psalm 27:5 speaks of the assurance of protection, preservation, and provision in the presence of God. David’s confidence in the Lord is evident as he describes God as a shelter in times of trouble. This verse reveals the unmatched security believers find when they trust God wholeheartedly. The sermon will explore three significant truths about God’s protective presence and how it applies to us today.

1. GOD PROVIDES A PLACE OF REFUGE

a) Shelter in Times of Trouble
The Lord offers Himself as a hiding place, shielding His children from the storms of life (Psalm 91:1).

b) A Safe Haven from Enemies
God’s presence becomes an impenetrable fortress, keeping us secure from adversaries (Proverbs 18:10).

c) Divine Protection Amidst Chaos
In God’s pavilion, there is peace and safety, regardless of external circumstances (Isaiah 26:3).

d) Refuge Through Faith
Trusting God activates His protection, as seen in the lives of those who rely on Him (Hebrews 11:6).

Biblical Example: Noah and his family were safe in the ark during the flood (Genesis 7:16).

2. GOD CONCEALS HIS PEOPLE IN HIS PRESENCE

a) Hidden for Divine Preservation
God hides His own in the secret place of His presence, beyond the reach of harm (Psalm 91:4).

b) Shielded from the Wicked
The enemy cannot access the believer who is hidden in Christ (Colossians 3:3).

c) Concealed to Manifest Glory
God often shields His children during preparation, revealing them at the right time (Habakkuk 2:3).

d) Trusting in God’s Timing
Being hidden in God is part of His plan for protection and preparation (Isaiah 40:31).

Biblical Example: Baby Moses was hidden by his parents and later became a deliverer (Exodus 2:2-3).

3. GOD LIFTS HIS PEOPLE ABOVE TROUBLE

a) Elevated Above Enemies
God not only hides us but also sets us high upon a rock, making us untouchable (Psalm 27:6).

b) Victory Over Challenges
God lifts us above the troubles of life, granting triumph over every adversity (Isaiah 40:29-31).

c) Firm Foundation in Christ
Jesus is the rock upon which we stand, unshaken by life’s storms (Matthew 7:24-25).

d) Living Above Fear
When God lifts us, fear gives way to faith and confidence (2 Timothy 1:7).

Biblical Example: God lifted Joseph from the prison to the palace, elevating him above his challenges (Genesis 41:39-41).

CONCLUSION:
Psalm 27:5 is a reminder of the unmatched security found in God’s presence. As our refuge, He shields us in times of trouble. As our hiding place, He preserves us. And as our stronghold, He lifts us above challenges and adversaries. When we trust in God, we find ourselves secure, victorious, and at peace. Let us dwell in His presence daily, where true safety and joy abound.
