INTRODUCTION:
Crossing over is not just about entering a new season but stepping into the divine mandate of dominion and possession. God has destined His children not to just pass through life but to take charge, excel, and manifest His glory. This message focuses on crossing over with the mindset of victory, prepared to take over territories, promises, and blessings that God has ordained for you.
1. WHAT IT MEANS TO TAKE OVER
a) Walking in Dominion:
Exercising authority in every area of life (Genesis 1:28).
b) Occupying Promised Territories:
Claiming what God has declared yours (Deuteronomy 11:24).
c) Overcoming Opposition:
Conquering every obstacle standing in the way of your inheritance (Psalm 18:37-38).
d) Manifesting God’s Glory:
Becoming a beacon of God’s power and presence (Isaiah 60:1).
e) Biblical Example:
Caleb boldly declared, “Give me this mountain,” and took possession of Hebron despite the challenges (Joshua 14:12-14).
2. PREPARING TO TAKE OVER
a) Renew Your Mindset:
Shift from a mindset of survival to one of dominion (Romans 12:2).
b) Seek Divine Direction:
Follow God’s leading as you step into new territories (Proverbs 3:5-6).
c) Strengthen Your Faith:
Believe in God’s promises, no matter how impossible they may seem (Mark 11:24).
d) Engage in Spiritual Warfare:
Bind every opposing force through prayer and fasting (Ephesians 6:12).
e) Biblical Example:
The Israelites prepared to take Jericho through obedience, faith, and strategy as instructed by God (Joshua 6:1-5).
3. OBSTACLES TO TAKING OVER
a) Fear and Doubt:
These weaken faith and limit progress (2 Timothy 1:7).
b) Complacency:
Settling for less when God has promised more (Amos 6:1).
c) Spiritual Weakness:
A lack of prayer and spiritual discipline can hinder victory (Matthew 26:41).
d) Sin and Disobedience:
These create barriers between you and God’s blessings (Isaiah 59:1-2).
e) Biblical Example:
The ten spies’ fear and unbelief prevented Israel from taking over the Promised Land initially (Numbers 13:31-33).
4. STEPS TO TAKE OVER
a) Declare God’s Promises:
Speak life and declare victory over your situations (Job 22:28).
b) Be Courageous:
Take bold steps of faith to claim your inheritance (Joshua 1:6-7).
c) Persist in Prayer:
Pray without ceasing for strength and guidance (1 Thessalonians 5:17).
d) Walk in Obedience:
Follow God’s Word and instructions without compromise (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).
e) Biblical Example:
David stepped forward with courage, faith, and strategy to take over Goliath and bring victory to Israel (1 Samuel 17:45-50).
5. THE OUTCOME OF TAKING OVER
a) Divine Favour:
God grants blessings and opportunities (Psalm 5:12).
b) Total Victory:
No enemy will stand against you (Deuteronomy 28:7).
c) Joyful Manifestations:
The fulfilment of long-awaited promises (Psalm 126:1-3).
d) Impact and Influence:
You become a channel of God’s blessing to others (Genesis 12:2).
e) Biblical Example:
After crossing the Jordan, the Israelites took over the Promised Land, fulfilling God’s covenant with Abraham (Joshua 21:43-45).
