WHAT GOD CANNOT DO, DOES NOT EXIST

SERMON TITLE: WHAT GOD CANNOT DO, DOES NOT EXIST

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Jeremiah 32:27
Supporting Texts: Luke 1:37, Genesis 18:14, Matthew 19:26, Job 42:2

INTRODUCTION:
The statement “What God cannot do, does not exist” is a profound declaration of God’s omnipotence and His ability to do anything and everything according to His will. Jeremiah 32:27 says, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?” This rhetorical question reinforces the truth that nothing is beyond God's power or ability. In every circumstance of life, whether it seems humanly impossible or difficult, God is more than able to turn it around. Our focus today is to stir up faith in the limitless power of God, trusting that there is no situation too hard for Him to handle.

1. GOD IS THE CREATOR AND SUSTAINER OF ALL THINGS

a) God is the Creator of the universe, and everything that exists is a product of His power (Genesis 1:1-3).

b) If God can create the heavens and the earth by the power of His word, then there is nothing He cannot do.

c) He not only creates but sustains all things by His power (Colossians 1:17). Everything remains under His control.

d) God's creation reminds us of His unlimited ability to bring something out of nothing, and He can do the same in our lives.

e) Biblical Example: In Genesis 18:14, God asked Abraham and Sarah, "Is anything too hard for the Lord?" Though Sarah was barren, God fulfilled His promise of giving them a son, Isaac, despite their old age.

2. GOD SPECIALISES IN IMPOSSIBILITIES

a) What seems impossible for man is possible for God. Human limitations are not a hindrance to God.

b) God has the ability to reverse circumstances, heal diseases, restore broken relationships, and open doors that no one can shut.

c) When doctors say it's impossible, when experts say there’s no solution, God can make a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:19).

d) Faith is essential to see God's power manifested in impossible situations (Luke 1:37).

e) Biblical Example: In Luke 1:37, the angel Gabriel told Mary that “with God, nothing will be impossible,” assuring her of the supernatural birth of Jesus Christ, despite her being a virgin.

3. GOD’S POWER IS NOT LIMITED BY TIME OR SPACE

a) God is not bound by the laws of time or nature. He operates in His divine timing, and His timing is perfect (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

b) He is able to intervene in any situation, regardless of how long it has been or how far away it may seem.

c) God can instantly turn things around, as He operates outside the limitations of human understanding.

d) Whether it’s a situation of delay, stagnation, or barrenness, God can move swiftly to bring about a miraculous change.

e) Biblical Example: The story of Lazarus (John 11:1-44) illustrates that even death, which seems final, is not beyond God’s power. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead after four days, showing that time is no obstacle for God.

4. GOD FULFILS HIS PROMISES

a) God’s promises are sure and steadfast. If He has spoken it, He will surely bring it to pass (Isaiah 55:11).

b) No promise of God will ever fail, for He is not a man that He should lie (Numbers 23:19).

c) Even when circumstances suggest otherwise, we can hold onto God’s promises with confidence.

d) God is faithful to fulfill every word He has spoken over our lives. His promises cannot be delayed or denied.

e) Biblical Example: Joshua 21:45 declares that “not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; every one was fulfilled.” God brought Israel into the Promised Land, just as He had said.

5. TESTIMONIES OF GOD’S LIMITLESS POWER

a) Throughout Scripture, there are countless testimonies of God's power to change impossible situations.

b) From opening the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-22) to feeding five thousand with five loaves and two fish (Matthew 14:13-21), God has consistently demonstrated that nothing is too difficult for Him.

c) These testimonies remind us that God’s power is not limited to biblical times; He is still doing wonders today.

d) We must share our testimonies to encourage others to trust in the God who makes all things possible.

e) Biblical Example: In 2 Kings 4:1-7, God miraculously provided for a widow through the multiplication of oil, demonstrating His ability to supply in times of need.

CONCLUSION:
There is absolutely nothing that God cannot do. He is the all-powerful, omnipotent Creator who specialises in impossibilities. Whether it’s a health crisis, financial difficulty, family problem, or spiritual challenge, God can turn it around. He has no limits, and there is no situation beyond His reach. What God cannot do does not exist. Therefore, let us trust Him wholeheartedly and have faith that He will move mightily in every area of our lives.
