By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Isaiah 60:5-6
Supporting Texts: Proverbs 13:22, Deuteronomy 8:18

INTRODUCTION:
The concept of possessing the wealth of the Gentiles is rooted in God's promise to His people that they will be blessed and that the resources of the earth will serve them. In this sermon, we will explore how believers can access and possess the wealth that God has ordained for them, understanding that it is part of His divine plan for our lives.

1. UNDERSTANDING THE PROMISE OF WEALTH

a) God’s Intent for Prosperity
Deuteronomy 8:18 – It is God who gives the ability to produce wealth; He desires His people to prosper.

b) The Transfer of Wealth
Proverbs 13:22 – The wealth of the sinner is stored up for the righteous; God is transferring wealth for His purpose.

c) Spiritual Authority Over Resources
Haggai 2:8 – The silver and gold are mine, says the Lord; understanding this gives us confidence to claim wealth.

d) Wealth as a Tool for God’s Kingdom
Matthew 6:33 – Seek first the kingdom of God; our pursuit of wealth must align with God’s purpose.

Biblical Example:
The Israelites plundering the Egyptians (Exodus 12:36) demonstrates God's power to transfer wealth.

2. PREPARING TO RECEIVE WEALTH

a) Cultivating a Prosperous Mindset
Romans 12:2 – Be transformed by the renewing of your mind; our mindset affects our ability to receive.

b) Faith in God’s Provision
Philippians 4:19 – God will meet all your needs; trusting in His provision opens the door to blessings.

c) Diligence and Hard Work
Proverbs 10:4 – Lazy hands make for poverty; hard work is a principle that leads to wealth.

d) Investing in Knowledge and Skills
Ecclesiastes 10:10 – Using wisdom brings success; investing in ourselves prepares us for greater opportunities.

Biblical Example:
Joseph’s rise to power in Egypt (Genesis 41) illustrates how preparation and wisdom lead to wealth.

3. ACTIVATING GOD’S PROMISES FOR WEALTH

a) Speaking Blessings Over Finances
Job 22:28 – You will declare a thing, and it will be established; our words have power in the spiritual realm.

b) Giving Generously
2 Corinthians 9:6 – Whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly; generosity activates God’s blessings.

c) Claiming What is Rightfully Ours
Matthew 11:12 – The kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force; we must be proactive in claiming our inheritance.

d) Building a Legacy for Future Generations
Proverbs 13:22 – A good person leaves an inheritance; wealth must be viewed as a legacy to benefit future generations.

Biblical Example:
The wealth accumulated by David for the temple (1 Chronicles 29:3) shows a heart for legacy and God’s work.

4. OVERCOMING HINDRANCES TO WEALTH

a) Identifying Spiritual Barriers
Ephesians 6:12 – We wrestle not against flesh and blood; understanding spiritual warfare helps us overcome hindrances.

b) Breaking Free from Poverty Mentality
2 Corinthians 5:17 – If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; renewing our mind helps break the cycle of poverty.

c) Avoiding Unwise Financial Practices
Proverbs 21:20 – The wise store up choice food and olive oil; wisdom in finances prevents loss.

d) Dealing with Fear and Doubt
Isaiah 41:10 – Fear not, for I am with you; trusting God’s presence overcomes fear of financial insecurity.

Biblical Example:
The parable of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30) teaches the importance of wise investment and stewardship.

5. LIVING IN ABUNDANCE AND SHARING BLESSINGS

a) Understanding Wealth as a Responsibility
Luke 12:48 – To whom much is given, much is required; wealth is a tool for service and ministry.

b) Creating Opportunities for Others
James 2:15-16 – Helping those in need; true wealth includes uplifting others.

c) Giving Glory to God for Our Wealth
Deuteronomy 8:17-18 – Acknowledging God’s role in our prosperity honors Him.
