PROPHETIC RESCUE

TITLE: PROPHETIC RESCUE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: 2 Kings 6:15-17
Supporting Texts: Psalm 91:14-16, Isaiah 43:2, Daniel 3:24-27

INTRODUCTION:
Prophetic rescue is the divine intervention of God in the midst of challenges, danger, or hopeless situations. Through a prophetic word or divine action, God steps into our lives to deliver, protect, and rescue us from harm, opposition, or failure. From the scriptures, we see God’s ability to orchestrate supernatural rescues for His people, delivering them from impossible situations. In this sermon, we will explore the power of prophetic rescue and how to activate it in our lives through faith and reliance on God’s Word.

1. UNDERSTANDING PROPHETIC RESCUE

a) God’s timely intervention
Prophetic rescue happens when God steps in just at the right time to deliver His people, as seen in the rescue of Israel from Egypt (Exodus 14:13-14).

b) Activation through the prophetic word
Prophetic rescue is often triggered by a word spoken by God's prophet or directly from the Word of God. Prophets like Elisha declared God’s deliverance (2 Kings 6:16-17).

c) Releasing angels for deliverance
Angels are dispatched to rescue God's people when the prophetic word is declared (Psalm 91:11-12).

d) Turning impossible situations around
When God rescues prophetically, He turns situations that seem impossible in our favour (Luke 1:37).

Biblical Example: Elisha and his servant were surrounded by enemies, but through prophetic vision and declaration, they were rescued by a heavenly army (2 Kings 6:17).

2. HOW TO POSITION FOR PROPHETIC RESCUE

a) Living in faith
Faith is the currency for receiving divine rescue. Without faith, it is impossible to see the hand of God (Hebrews 11:6).

b) Standing in prayer
Prayer activates prophetic rescue by aligning us with God's will and inviting His intervention (Acts 12:5-7).

c) Walking in obedience
Obedience to God's instructions positions us for divine rescue, as seen in Noah's obedience to build the ark (Genesis 6:22).

d) Holding onto the promises of God
Standing on the promises of God’s Word guarantees His rescue in times of trouble (Psalm 91:14-16).

Biblical Example: Peter was rescued from prison by an angel after the church prayed earnestly for him (Acts 12:5-11).

3. BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF PROPHETIC RESCUE

a) Daniel in the lion’s den
Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den, but God sent His angel to shut the mouths of the lions (Daniel 6:22).

b) The three Hebrew boys
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were rescued from the fiery furnace by the presence of the Son of God (Daniel 3:24-27).

c) Paul and Silas in prison
Paul and Silas were rescued from prison through a prophetic earthquake that broke their chains and opened the prison doors (Acts 16:25-26).

d) Hagar and Ishmael
When Hagar and Ishmael were about to die in the wilderness, God prophetically rescued them by showing her a well of water (Genesis 21:17-19).

e)  Lot and his family
They were rescued from Sodom and Gomorrah after Abraham interceded and the angels intervened (Genesis 19:15-16).

4. ACTIVATING PROPHETIC RESCUE THROUGH THE PROPHETIC WORD

a) Receiving the prophetic word
God speaks to His people through His prophets, and receiving that word with faith activates divine intervention (2 Chronicles 20:20).

b) Speaking the Word of God
Declaring God's Word over situations activates His power to rescue and deliver (Isaiah 55:11).

c) Standing in agreement with prophetic declarations
Coming into agreement with prophetic declarations made over our lives releases the supernatural (Matthew 18:19).

d) Releasing faith-filled prayers
Prophetic prayers filled with faith cause the heavens to respond with divine rescue (James 5:16).

Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah activated prophetic rescue by believing in the prophet’s word, leading to victory without fighting (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).

5. THE POWER OF PROPHETIC RESCUE IN THE LIFE OF A BELIEVER

a) Divine protection from danger
Prophetic rescue ensures that we are kept safe from physical, spiritual, and emotional harm (Psalm 34:7).

b) Breaking of chains and strongholds
Through prophetic rescue, God breaks every chain of oppression and bondage in our lives (Isaiah 61:1).

c) Opening of doors of opportunity
God rescues His people by opening doors that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8).

d) Restoration of what was lost
Prophetic rescue brings about restoration of all that the enemy has stolen from us (Joel 2:25).

Biblical Example: Job experienced a prophetic rescue when God restored all that he had lost, even doubling his blessings (Job 42:10).

CONCLUSION:
God is the ultimate Rescuer, and He delivers His people through prophetic interventions when they trust in Him, obey His Word, and hold onto His promises. There is no situation too difficult for God to turn around, and through prophetic rescue, He can pull you out of every challenge or trial. As believers, we need to stay sensitive to God's Word and activate His divine rescue through prayer, faith, and obedience.
