Title: MONTH OF SURVIVAL AND PRESERVATION

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Psalm 91:1-7
Supporting Texts: Isaiah 43:2, 2 Timothy 4:18, Deuteronomy 31:6

INTRODUCTION:
Survival and preservation speak of God’s sustaining power through trials, adversities, and difficult seasons. In the midst of uncertainties and challenges, God is committed to preserving His people, ensuring their survival by His power. This message will focus on how God ensures that His children not only survive but thrive, keeping them from harm and sustaining them through difficult times.

1. GOD’S PROMISE OF PRESERVATION

a) God as Our Refuge
Psalm 91:1 assures us that those who dwell in the secret place of the Most High are preserved under His protective wings.

b) Divine Protection in Adversity
Isaiah 43:2 shows us that when we pass through waters or fire, God ensures that we are not overwhelmed or destroyed.

c) God's Preservation from Harm
Psalm 91:7 reveals that even when danger surrounds us, God preserves us from destruction and harm.

d) God’s Presence in Difficult Times
God’s presence guarantees our survival in the face of trials, as He walks with us through every challenge (Psalm 23:4).

e) Biblical Example:
The Israelites’ survival in the wilderness for 40 years is a great example of divine preservation (Deuteronomy 8:2-4)

2. GOD PRESERVES US FROM THE HAND OF THE ENEMY

a) Deliverance from Enemy Attacks
God promises to deliver us from the traps of the enemy and preserve us from their wicked schemes (Psalm 91:3).

b) Protection from Spiritual Battles
We are not only preserved from physical harm but also from spiritual attacks and demonic forces (Ephesians 6:11-13).

c) God Shields Us from Destruction
God’s protective power prevents the weapons of the enemy from prospering against His children (Isaiah 54:17).

d) Victory over Every Oppressor
No matter how powerful the enemy may seem, God gives His people victory and ensures their survival (Isaiah 59:19).

e) Biblical Example:
The preservation of Daniel in the lion's den is an outstanding display of how God protects His people from deadly threats (Daniel 6:16-22).

3. GOD’S GRACE FOR SURVIVAL IN DIFFICULT SEASONS

a) Surviving Life’s Challenges by God’s Grace
The grace of God enables believers to survive and thrive in the midst of trials and hardship (2 Corinthians 12:9).

b) God’s Strength in Our Weakness
When we feel weak, God’s strength becomes our source of survival, keeping us going even in hard times (Isaiah 40:31).

c) God’s Power to Sustain Us
Just as God sustained Elijah during a season of drought, He can provide for and sustain us through our difficult times (1 Kings 17:6-16).

d) Grace for Endurance
God gives us the grace to endure and come out stronger from every trial and test we face (James 1:2-4).

e) Biblical Example:
Joseph’s journey from slavery to the palace is a testimony of survival through God’s sustaining power (Genesis 37-50).

4. THE ROLE OF FAITH IN SURVIVAL AND PRESERVATION

a) Faith Activates God’s Preservation
Our faith in God’s ability to preserve us activates His divine protection over our lives (Hebrews 11:6).

b) Trusting God for Preservation
Trusting in God’s promises allows us to survive challenges and remain preserved by His power (Psalm 56:11).

c) Dependence on God’s Faithfulness
God’s faithfulness to His word ensures that He will preserve us through every season (2 Thessalonians 3:3).

d) Obedience to God Brings Preservation
Obedience to God’s instructions places us under His divine protection, as seen in Noah’s life (Genesis 6:22).

e) Biblical Example:
The survival of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the fiery furnace is an example of how faith leads to divine preservation (Daniel 3:16-27).

5. PRAYER AND DIVINE PRESERVATION

a) Prayer Invites God’s Protection
When we call upon God in prayer, He responds by preserving us from all forms of danger (Psalm 91:15).

b) Praying for God’s Guidance and Preservation
Prayer opens the door for divine guidance and preservation, as God leads us away from harm (Psalm 32:8).

c) Interceding for Divine Intervention
In times of trouble, prayer is a powerful tool for securing divine intervention and protection (Psalm 50:15).

d) Praying for the Grace to Survive Every Challenge
As we pray for strength, God grants us the grace to survive and come out victorious from every trial (Isaiah 40:29).

e) Biblical Example:
Hezekiah’s prayer for survival in the face of death resulted in God preserving his life and adding 15 more years (Isaiah 38:1-5).

CONCLUSION:
This month is a reminder of God’s promise to preserve His children and ensure their survival through every challenge and trial. As we walk in faith, prayer, and obedience, we activate His protective power in our lives. Just as He preserved the saints of old, He will preserve and sustain us through every season of life.
