INTRODUCTION:
The promise that God gives His angels charge over us is a profound declaration of His protective and guiding nature. In a world filled with uncertainties, dangers, and challenges, knowing that divine beings are assigned to watch over us brings comfort and reassurance. This sermon will explore the role of angels in our lives, the nature of their protection, and how we can align ourselves with God's promises regarding angelic assistance.

1. THE ASSIGNMENT OF ANGELS
Angels are not random entities; they are specifically assigned by God to fulfil His purposes in the lives of believers.

a) Divine Protection: Angels are sent to protect us from harm and danger. Their presence serves as a shield against physical and spiritual attacks (Psalm 34:7).

b) Guidance and Direction: They provide guidance, ensuring we follow God's path and make the right decisions (Acts 8:26-29).

c) Ministers of Grace: Angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation, bringing messages of hope and encouragement (Hebrews 1:14).

d) Executing God’s Will: They carry out God’s commands on earth, ensuring that His plans and purposes are fulfilled in our lives (Psalm 103:20).

Biblical Example:
In Acts 12:7-10, an angel was sent to rescue Peter from prison, demonstrating God's immediate response to protect and deliver His people.

2. THE NATURE OF ANGELIC PROTECTION
Understanding the nature of the protection offered by angels is vital for our faith.

a) Spiritual Covering: Angels provide a protective covering, safeguarding us from unseen dangers (Psalm 91:11-12).

b) Intervening in Crisis: In times of crisis, angels can intervene supernaturally, changing circumstances for our benefit (Daniel 6:22).

c) Encouragement in Trials: They bring comfort and encouragement during challenging times, reminding us of God's presence (Luke 22:43).

d) Surrounding Presence: Angels surround us with their presence, ensuring that we are never alone in our struggles (2 Kings 6:15-17).

Elisha’s servant saw the army of angels surrounding them, illustrating the spiritual protection available to God’s people (2 Kings 6:17).

3. RESPONDING TO ANGELIC MINISTRY
Recognising and responding to the ministry of angels can enhance our spiritual walk.

a) Awareness of Their Presence: Being aware of angelic presence helps us remain open to their assistance and guidance (Hebrews 13:2).

b) Prayer and Faith: Our prayers can invite angelic intervention in our lives; faith activates their ministry (Matthew 7:7-8).

c) Living in Obedience: Living according to God’s Word positions us to receive the full benefit of angelic protection (Psalm 119:11).

d) Seeking Divine Guidance: We should seek God’s guidance, trusting that angels will help direct our paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Biblical Example:
In the case of Cornelius, his prayers prompted a divine encounter with an angel, leading to significant spiritual breakthrough (Acts 10:3-6).

4. THE PROMISE OF ANGELS IN DIFFICULT TIMES
God’s promise to give His angels charge over us is especially significant in challenging seasons.

a) Assurance of Safety: This promise reassures us that we are protected even in the most perilous situations (Isaiah 43:2).

b) Encouragement to Trust: Knowing that angels are watching over us encourages us to trust God in difficult times (Philippians 4:6-7).

c) Rescue from Adversity: Angels can be sent to rescue us from adversity and despair, turning our situations around (Psalm 34:19).
