By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Isaiah 40:31
Supporting Texts: Psalm 103:5; Deuteronomy 32:11-12; Philippians 4:13; Hebrews 12:1-2

INTRODUCTION:
In life, there are seasons for waiting, growing, and eventually soaring. To soar means to rise beyond limitations, to reach new heights, and to live in the fullness of God’s purpose. The Scriptures remind us that those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength, mounting up with wings like eagles. This is a season of renewal, transformation, and ascension. In this season, God empowers us to break through barriers and live above life’s challenges with renewed strength and purpose.

1. UNDERSTANDING THE SEASON TO SOAR

a) Recognising God’s Timing
God has specific seasons for His plans; recognising this season is the key to soaring (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

b) Spiritual Renewal
To soar, we must be renewed in spirit, drawing strength from God (Isaiah 40:31).

c) Embracing Faith Over Fear
Faith propels us to soar, while fear anchors us to the ground (2 Timothy 1:7).

d) Vision and Focus
Like the eagle, we must have a clear vision of God’s purpose, focusing on His will (Habakkuk 2:2).

Biblical Example: Abraham’s Obedience
Abraham soared above his past limitations by trusting and obeying God’s timing (Genesis 12:1-4).

2. CHARACTERISTICS OF AN EAGLE AND OUR CALL TO SOAR

a) Strength in Adversity
Eagles fly against the storm, drawing strength from it; likewise, we should find strength in trials (James 1:2-3).

b) Renewal Process
Eagles go through a renewal process; we must embrace times of renewal in God’s presence (Psalm 103:5).

c) High Altitude Living
Eagles soar at high altitudes; we are called to live above worldly distractions (Colossians 3:2).

d) Dependence on the Wind
Eagles rely on wind currents, and we rely on the Holy Spirit for strength and guidance (John 14:26).

Biblical Example: Elijah’s Strength in God
Elijah drew strength from God, soaring even when faced with adversity (1 Kings 19:1-8).

3. PRACTICAL STEPS TO SOAR IN THIS SEASON

a) Seek God’s Presence Daily
Renewal comes from consistent communion with God through prayer and the Word (Psalm 91:1).

b) Trust in God’s Plan
Relying on God’s plan removes anxiety and opens us up to His direction (Jeremiah 29:11).

c) Live with Purpose
Knowing our divine purpose motivates us to rise above temporary setbacks (Romans 8:28).

d) Let Go of Weights
Like an eagle shedding old feathers, we must let go of anything holding us back (Hebrews 12:1).

Biblical Example: Paul’s Transformation
Paul left his past behind to soar in his new purpose for Christ (Philippians 3:13-14).

4. DIVINE EMPOWERMENT TO SOAR

a) Strength from God
God provides strength to soar when we are weak (Philippians 4:13).

b) The Help of the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit empowers us, giving supernatural strength to overcome limitations (Acts 1:8).

c) Boldness to Take Flight
Divine boldness enables us to take on challenges and rise to new heights (Joshua 1:9).

d) Overcoming Challenges
God equips us to rise above opposition and excel in all areas of life (Romans 8:37).

Biblical Example: David’s Victory Over Goliath
David soared above fear and opposition, facing Goliath with God’s strength (1 Samuel 17:45-50).

5. EXPECTING THE RESULTS OF SOARING

a) Spiritual Growth and Maturity
Soaring results in a deeper, more mature faith as we rely on God’s strength (Ephesians 4:13).

b) Fulfilling Divine Purpose
We begin to fulfill God’s calling, impacting lives and glorifying Him (Ephesians 2:10).

c) Increased Influence
Soaring allows us to reach others for Christ, expanding our influence (Matthew 5:14-16).

d) A Life of Joy and Peace
Living in God’s purpose brings joy and peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7).

Biblical Example: Joseph’s Rise in Egypt
Joseph soared from slavery to leadership, fulfilling God’s purpose for his life (Genesis 41:39-41).
