BACK TO SENDER (Part 2)

Title: BACK TO SENDER (Part 2)

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text: Proverbs 26:27
Supporting Texts: Psalm 7:15-16, Esther 7:9-10, Isaiah 54:17, Psalm 35:7-8, Psalm 57:6

INTRODUCTION:
The concept of "back to sender" means that any evil planned against you will return to its source. Proverbs 26:27 teaches that whoever digs a pit for another will fall into it. In a world where spiritual warfare is real, we must understand that God fights for His people, and the traps set by adversaries will ultimately be turned back on them. This sermon examines how God’s justice prevails and how we can live victoriously, trusting Him to thwart any schemes meant to harm us.

1. DIVINE PROTECTION OVER OUR LIVES

a) God Is Our Shield:
God promises to protect His people and be a shield against any harm (Psalm 3:3).

b) Weapons Formed but Ineffective:
The enemy may try to harm us, but Isaiah 54:17 assures us that no weapon formed against us shall prosper.

c) Reversing Evil Intentions:
When the enemy seeks to harm us, God has the power to reverse those intentions (Psalm 91:3).

d) Preserving Us from Hidden Snares:
God delivers us from the snares of the enemy and keeps us safe from their traps (Psalm 124:7).

Biblical Example: Daniel in the lion's den – those who plotted against him were thrown into the same den (Daniel 6:24).

2. GOD’S JUSTICE AGAINST WICKEDNESS

a) Justice for the Righteous:
God is a just judge who repays the wicked according to their actions (Psalm 7:11-16).

b) Traps That Capture the Setters:
When the wicked plot against the righteous, their evil schemes often come back upon them (Psalm 35:7-8).

c) God's Principle of Reaping What You Sow:
What a person sows, they shall also reap, especially when they sow evil (Galatians 6:7).

d) Restoring Balance Through Divine Intervention:
God steps in to bring justice, ensuring the scales are balanced (Romans 12:19).

Biblical Example: Haman built gallows for Mordecai, but he was hanged on it himself (Esther 7:9-10).

3. PRAYING FOR DIVINE VINDICATION

a) Calling on God for Protection and Justice:
We can ask God to fight on our behalf, trusting Him for vindication (Psalm 35:1-3).

b) Lifting Prayers of Deliverance:
Praying for deliverance acknowledges God’s power to rescue us from harm (Psalm 18:17).

c) Breaking Curses and Releasing Blessings:
Through prayer, we reject any curses and receive God’s blessings instead (Proverbs 18:21).

d) Trusting God’s Timing for Justice:
We trust that God will act in His time to reveal His justice and mercy (Ecclesiastes 3:17).

Biblical Example: When Jehoshaphat prayed, God turned the enemy forces against each other (2 Chronicles 20:22-23).

4. LIVING IN FAITH AND NOT FEAR

a) Confidence in God’s Protection:
God’s Word assures us that He watches over His people, so we can live without fear (Psalm 121:7-8).

b) Releasing Worry to God:
Fear and worry have no place when we trust God’s ability to deal with our enemies (Philippians 4:6-7).

c) Empowered by God’s Spirit:
God’s Spirit gives us boldness and peace, allowing us to stand firm in faith (2 Timothy 1:7).

d) Walking in the Authority of Christ:
Through Christ, we have authority to reject any evil attack (Luke 10:19).

Biblical Example: David faced Goliath with faith, not fear, and overcame him (1 Samuel 17:45-50).

5. VICTORY THROUGH CHRIST

a) Jesus as Our Defender:
Jesus overcame every power of darkness, and through Him, we have victory (Colossians 2:15).

b) Power in the Name of Jesus:
We are protected and victorious in the powerful name of Jesus (Philippians 2:9-10).

c) The Blood of Christ as Our Shield:
The blood of Jesus covers and protects us from all harm (Revelation 12:11).

d) Assurance of Ultimate Victory:
We are assured that God’s plans will prevail over any scheme of the enemy (Romans 8:37).

Biblical Example: Paul and Silas in prison praised God, resulting in their miraculous deliverance (Acts 16:25-26).

CONCLUSION:
When God is on our side, no scheme of the enemy can prevail. Proverbs 26:27 reminds us that those who dig pits for others will fall into them. We have divine backing that nullifies every plan set against us. As we walk in faith and stand on God’s promises, let’s remember that He is both our protector and our avenger. No weapon, trap, or plot can succeed against a child of God who enjoys His  against all harm.
