INTRODUCTION:
In the journey of life, we often face obstacles that seem insurmountable. However, God has the power to create pathways where there appear to be none. This sermon explores how God makes a way in difficult situations, encouraging us to trust in His divine intervention.
1. UNDERSTANDING GOD'S WAY-MAKING ABILITY
a) God as Our Deliverer
God has a history of delivering His people from impossible situations (Exodus 14:13-14).
b) His Plans Are Greater
God's plans for our lives often exceed our understanding, and He is always at work behind the scenes (Jeremiah 29:11).
c) Trusting His Timing
We must learn to wait on the Lord, for His timing is perfect (Isaiah 40:31).
d) Faith in the Unseen
Walking by faith means trusting that God is making a way, even when we cannot see it (2 Corinthians 5:7).
Biblical Example: Moses and the Red Sea – God made a way through the sea when it seemed impossible (Exodus 14:21-22).
2. RECOGNISING GOD'S INTERVENTION
a) Signs of Divine Guidance
Sometimes God’s ways are revealed through signs and circumstances in our lives (Psalm 32:8).
b) The Role of Prayer
Seeking God in prayer helps us to align with His will and recognize His direction (Philippians 4:6-7).
c) Divine Connections
God often places people in our lives to help us find the way forward (Proverbs 27:17).
d) Obeying His Voice
Listening to God's guidance is crucial in understanding how He makes a way (Isaiah 30:21).
Biblical Example: The Woman at the Well – Her encounter with Jesus showed how God can redirect lives toward purpose (John 4:28-30).
3. THE PROCESS OF GOD MAKING A WAY
a) Breaking Down Barriers
God is capable of removing obstacles that hinder our progress (Isaiah 45:2).
b) Transforming Our Circumstances
He can turn our trials into testimonies of His faithfulness (Romans 8:28).
c) Creating New Paths
Just as He made a way in the wilderness, He can create new opportunities in our lives (Isaiah 43:19).
d) Leading Through Challenges
God often leads us through difficult situations to build our faith and reliance on Him (Psalm 23:4).
Biblical Example: David's Anointing – God made a way for David from shepherd to king, showing how He can elevate us in unexpected ways (1 Samuel 16:11-13).
4. THE POWER OF TESTIMONY
a) Sharing Our Stories
Testimonies of God's provision can encourage others to trust Him (Revelation 12:11).
b) Strengthening Faith
Hearing how God has made a way for others builds our faith (Romans 10:17).
c) Celebrating God's Goodness
We must take time to celebrate and acknowledge God's work in our lives (Psalm 105:1).
d) Encouraging Others
Our testimonies can inspire those around us to seek God for their challenges (2 Corinthians 1:4).
Biblical Example: The Blind Man Healed by Jesus – His testimony of healing encouraged faith in others (John 9:25).
5. DECLARING GOD'S PROMISES
a) Speaking Life
We must declare God’s promises over our situations (Proverbs 18:21).
b) Praying with Faith
Our prayers should reflect confidence in God's ability to make a way (Matthew 21:22).
c) Proclaiming Victory
We can declare victory in our circumstances, knowing that God is at work (1 John 5:4).
d) Living in Expectation
Expecting God to act encourages us to watch for His hand in our lives (Hebrews 11:1).
Biblical Example: Joshua at Jericho – The Israelites declared God's victory before the walls fell (Joshua 6:16).
CONCLUSION:
As we trust in God’s ability to make a way, let us remember that He is always working for our good. No matter the obstacles we face, God is able to create a path where none exists.
