MY SEASON OF UNCOMMON FAVOURS

Title: MY SEASON OF UNCOMMON FAVOURS

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text.  Psalm 102:13
Supporting Texts: Genesis 39:21, Esther 2:17, Luke 1:28-30

INTRODUCTION
Favors come in different forms, but there is a level of favor that transcends the ordinary—this is uncommon favor. It is the kind of divine intervention that sets you apart and causes doors to open in supernatural ways. In Psalm 102:13, the Bible speaks of a set time to favor Zion. This is a prophetic declaration of God's intention to show mercy and favor beyond human expectation. As we explore this message, we will learn what it means to walk in uncommon favor and how to position ourselves for it in this season.

1. UNDERSTANDING UNCOMMON FAVOUR

a) Favour Defined
Favour is the unmerited grace and kindness shown by God to His people. It is when God’s hand is upon someone, causing things to happen for them in ways that others cannot explain. Uncommon favour, however, is when this grace surpasses normal expectations and elevates a person beyond their natural abilities or qualifications.

b) The Nature of Uncommon Favour
Uncommon favor breaks natural laws and protocols. It is the divine intervention that shifts circumstances, positions, and destinies in an extraordinary way. When God’s uncommon favor is upon you, even your enemies will be at peace with you.

Biblical Example: Joseph in Egypt (Genesis 39:21)
Even in a foreign land and as a prisoner, Joseph experienced the uncommon favor of God. The Bible says the Lord was with Joseph, and he found favor in the sight of the prison warden, who placed him in charge of all the prisoners. This favor positioned him for greatness and eventual promotion to the palace.

2. QUALITIES THAT ATTRACT UNCOMMON FAVOUR

a) A Life of Righteousness
Uncommon Favour is often attracted by a life of righteousness. When we live according to God’s ways, His favor rests upon us in greater measures. Psalm 5:12 says, "For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor You will surround him as with a shield."

b) Obedience to God’s Instructions
Favour comes to those who are obedient to God's leading. When you follow God’s instructions, you align yourself with His purpose, and favour is released. This was the case for Mary, the mother of Jesus, who was highly favoured because of her obedience and submission to God’s will (Luke 1:28-30).

Biblical Example:.  Esther’s Obedience (Esther 2:17)
Esther found uncommon favour in the sight of the king because she was obedient to the instructions of Mordecai and followed the leading of God. This favor not only positioned her as queen but also empowered her to save her people from destruction.

3. SIGNS THAT YOU ARE ENTERING A SEASON OF UNCOMMON FAVOR

a) Divine Connections and Relationships
One of the signs that you are stepping into uncommon favour is that God begins to align you with people who are instrumental to your destiny. These divine connections will open doors for you that no man can shut.

b) Supernatural Open Doors
Another sign of uncommon favour is the opening of doors that were previously closed. These are not just ordinary doors but doors that lead to significant breakthroughs in every area of your life.

Biblical Example: Ruth's Connection with Boaz (Ruth 2:10-11)
Ruth, a Moabite widow, found uncommon favour in the eyes of Boaz, a wealthy landowner in Bethlehem. This favour not only brought provision but also led to her becoming part of the lineage of Jesus Christ.

4. HOW TO POSITION YOURSELF FOR UNCOMMON FAVOUR

a) Seek God’s Presence
The secret to walking in uncommon favour is staying in God's presence. Psalm 16:11 says, "In Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore." It is in His presence that favour is unlocked.

b) Activate Favour through Prayer
To experience uncommon favour, you must engage in prayer. Favour is often birthed through a lifestyle of intercession and communion with God. Daniel prayed three times a day, and God's favour caused him to excel even in Babylon (Daniel 6:10).

Biblical Example: Nehemiah's Prayer (Nehemiah 1:11)
Nehemiah prayed for favor before he approached the king, and God granted his request. The favor he received enabled him to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem, which had been in ruins for years.

5. THE BLESSINGS OF UNCOMMON FAVOUR

a) Favour Breaks Limitations
Uncommon favor removes limitations and impossibilities. It brings supernatural acceleration where there was once delay. When God’s favor is upon you, what would take others years to achieve will happen for you in moments.

b) Favour Grants Access to Greatness
Uncommon favour will elevate you to positions of influence and authority. It grants you access to opportunities and places where human effort alone cannot take you.

Biblical Example:  Daniel in Babylon (Daniel 1:9, 19-20)
Daniel experienced uncommon favour with the chief official and the king. As a result, he and his friends were found ten times better than all the other men in the king’s service. This favour elevated Daniel to a position of great authority in the Babylonian empire.

CONCLUSION
This is your season of uncommon favour. Just as God favoured Joseph, Esther, and Daniel, He will show you favour that will set you apart for greatness. When you align yourself with God's purpose, live righteously, and seek His face, uncommon favour will rest upon your life. This is your time to walk in divine elevation, where limitations are broken, and doors of opportunity are opened.
