INTRODUCTION:
In life, we encounter situations that remind us of our limitations and need for divine intervention. When God helps us, He provides strength, wisdom, and supernatural support that we could not achieve on our own. The phrase "And the Lord helped me" represents a testimony of God's faithfulness and power at work in our lives. This study will look into different ways God helps His people, the results of divine help, and how to position ourselves to receive His assistance.

1. THE ASSURANCE OF GOD'S HELP

a) God as Our Ever-Present Help
God promises to be with us and provide help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

b) Trusting in God's Unfailing Help
Placing our confidence in God's strength enables us to overcome obstacles (Isaiah 41:10).

c) Recognizing Our Dependence on God
Acknowledging our need for God’s help opens the way for Him to intervene (John 15:5).

d) Experiencing Peace Through His Presence
God’s presence calms our fears and brings peace to our hearts (Philippians 4:6-7).

Biblical Example: Samuel and the Ebenezer Stone – After victory over the Philistines, Samuel set up a stone, saying, "Thus far the Lord has helped us" (1 Samuel 7:12).

2. RECEIVING DIVINE HELP THROUGH PRAYER

a) Prayer as a Channel for Divine Assistance
Prayer brings us into God’s presence, aligning us with His help (Psalm 55:22).

b) Persistence in Prayer for Breakthrough
Persistent prayer reveals our dependence and trust in God (Luke 18:1-8).

c) Faith-Filled Prayer that Moves God's Hand
Prayer grounded in faith opens the door for miracles (Mark 11:24).

d) Seeking God First for Help
Turning to God as our first response, not our last resort, brings His aid (Psalm 121:1-2).

Biblical Example: Hannah's Prayer – In her distress, Hannah prayed fervently, and God answered by giving her a son, Samuel (1 Samuel 1:10-20).

3. DIVINE HELP IN TIMES OF WEAKNESS

a) God’s Strength in Our Weakness
When we feel weak, God's strength becomes our source of power (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

b) Learning to Rely on His Grace
God’s grace is sufficient for every situation we face (2 Corinthians 12:9).

c) God Lifting Our Burdens
We can cast all our cares on Him, knowing He will sustain us (1 Peter 5:7).

d) Overcoming Through God’s Empowerment
His help enables us to achieve what we cannot do alone (Philippians 4:13).

Biblical Example: Paul’s Ministry – Despite his challenges, Paul testified that God’s grace was sufficient and His strength perfect in Paul’s weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9-10).

4. THE RESULT OF GOD'S HELP: VICTORY AND TESTIMONY

a) Transforming Challenges into Testimonies
God's help turns obstacles into testimonies of His goodness (Psalm 126:2-3).

b) Victory Over Our Enemies
God’s help ensures that no weapon formed against us will prevail (Isaiah 54:17).

c) Joy and Thanksgiving as a Result
Divine help brings us joy and gratitude toward God (Psalm 100:4-5).

d) Increased Faith in Future Challenges
Each time God helps us, our faith is strengthened for future battles (Romans 8:31).

Biblical Example: David’s Triumph Over Goliath – With God’s help, David defeated the giant Goliath and gave glory to God for the victory (1 Samuel 17:45-47).

5. POSITIONING OURSELVES FOR DIVINE HELP

a) Humility Before God
God resists the proud but gives grace and help to the humble (James 4:6).

b) Obedience to His Word
Following God's commands positions us for His help and blessings (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

c) Maintaining a Heart of Faith
Faith in God allows us to receive His supernatural assistance (Hebrews 11:6).

d) Living in Dependence on God’s Strength
Relying on God's help daily brings stability and strength to our lives (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat’s Prayer – Facing a large army, Jehoshaphat sought God’s help and experienced a miraculous victory (2 Chronicles 20:1-24).
