INTRODUCTION:
When God moves, His presence brings transformation, miracles, and judgment. His movement changes situations and destinies, leaving testimonies along the way. Throughout Scripture, we see how lives were impacted when God moved. Whether as a miracle worker or a consuming fire, His movement commands attention.
1. WHEN GOD MOVES, MIRACLES HAPPEN
a) God Meets Needs Along His Path:
As seen in Genesis 18, God stopped at Abraham’s tent on His way to Sodom and gave him the promise of a son.
b) Lives are Revived and Restored:
In Luke 7:11-15, Jesus was on His way into Nain, and a widow’s dead son was restored to life when He touched the coffin.
c) Barriers are Broken:
When God moves, limitations are removed, as demonstrated when Jesus healed Blind Bartimaeus on His journey (Mark 10:46-52).
d) Silent Cries are Heard:
While on His way to Jairus’ house, Jesus responded to the woman with the issue of blood who touched Him in faith and healed her (Luke 8:41-48).
Biblical Example: The Israelites received manna and water from the rock as God moved with them in the wilderness (Exodus 16:14-15, Exodus 17:6).
2. WHEN GOD MOVES, EVIL IS JUDGED
a) God is a Consuming Fire:
When He moves in fire, evil is destroyed (Hebrews 12:29).
b) Wickedness Cannot Stand:
His presence scatters the plans of the wicked, as seen with the Egyptians who pursued Israel and were drowned in the Red Sea (Exodus 14:27-28).
c) Demonic Forces Flee:
When Jesus moved into regions, demons cried out and fled, such as the legion in the Gadarenes (Mark 5:1-13).
d) Unrepentant Sin Faces Judgment:
Ananias and Sapphira lied in God’s presence and faced immediate judgment (Acts 5:1-11).
Biblical Example: The fire of God consumed Elijah’s offering and exposed the false prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18:38-40).
3. WHAT TRIGGERS GOD’S MOVEMENT?
a) Faith and Obedience:
Faith in God draws Him into your situation, as seen with the woman with the issue of blood (Mark 5:34).
b) Worship and Praise:
Jehoshaphat’s army triggered God’s movement through praise, and He fought their battles (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).
c) Holiness and Righteousness:
A holy life invites God to move on your behalf (Psalm 24:3-5).
d) Persistent Prayer:
Bartimaeus’ persistent cries of faith caused Jesus to stop and respond (Mark 10:48-49).
Biblical Example: The Israelites’ cry in Egypt caused God to move and deliver them from bondage (Exodus 3:7-8).
4. HOW TO ALIGN YOURSELF WHEN GOD MOVES
a) Be Spiritually Sensitive:
Recognise the times and seasons of God’s movement (1 Chronicles 12:32).
b) Stay Close to the Presence of God:
Just as the Israelites followed the cloud by day and fire by night (Exodus 13:21).
c) Live a Holy Life:
Only those with clean hands and pure hearts can ascend to His holy place (Psalm 24:3-4).
d) Stay in the Place of Worship:
Worship keeps you aligned with God’s purpose during His movement (John 4:24).
Biblical Example: The disciples received the Holy Spirit in the upper room as they tarried in prayer and unity (Acts 2:1-4).
5. RESULTS OF GOD’S MOVEMENT
a) Testimonies Multiply:
When God moves, miracles are shared by those nearby, as seen with Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood.
b) Enemies are Defeated:
His movement scatters every adversary (Psalm 68:1).
c) Lives are Transformed:
Bartimaeus’ life changed forever after encountering Jesus (Mark 10:52).
d) Glory is Revealed:
The movement of God brings glory to His name and reveals His power (John 9:3).
Biblical Example: Paul and Silas experienced deliverance from prison when God moved (Acts 16:25-26).
CONCLUSION:
When God moves, miracles happen, evil is judged, and lives are transformed. To experience His movement, remain sensitive, live a holy life, and engage in faith and worship. Position yourself to partake in the blessings He distributes along His path.
