INTRODUCTION:
Life’s challenges, traps, and spiritual battles often seem overwhelming. However, through God’s covenant, He provides a way of escape. Psalm 124:7 declares, “Our soul has escaped as a bird from the snare of the fowler; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.” Today, we will explore how God delivers His children from physical, spiritual, and emotional dangers, ensuring their safety and freedom.
1. THE REALITY OF SNARES AND TRAPS
a) Traps of the Enemy:
The devil sets traps to enslave and destroy believers (John 10:10).
b) Life’s Challenges as Snares:
Difficulties, temptations, and sudden troubles can act as traps (Psalm 91:3).
c) Spiritual Bondage:
Sin, curses, and spiritual attacks aim to keep people bound (Isaiah 42:22).
d) Fear and Anxiety:
Mental and emotional strongholds can trap a person in despair (2 Timothy 1:7).
Biblical Example: Haman built a gallows for Mordecai, but God turned it around, and Mordecai escaped while Haman was hanged (Esther 7:9-10).
2. THE GOD OF OUR ESCAPE
a) God Breaks the Snares:
God is our deliverer who destroys every plan of the enemy (Psalm 124:7).
b) His Faithfulness in Providing a Way Out:
No matter the temptation, God provides a way of escape (1 Corinthians 10:13).
c) Divine Rescue and Protection:
God rescues us from dangers, both seen and unseen (Psalm 91:3).
d) Assurance of Victory in Christ:
Through Christ’s sacrifice, we are free from sin and death (Romans 8:1-2).
Biblical Example: Lot was rescued by God from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19:15-17).
3. KEYS TO EXPERIENCING DIVINE ESCAPE
a) Trust in God’s Deliverance:
Put your faith in God as your ultimate rescuer (Psalm 91:2).
b) Pray for Divine Intervention:
Prayer is a powerful tool for breaking every snare (Acts 12:5-11).
c) Walk in Obedience to God’s Word:
Obedience brings divine protection and deliverance (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).
d) Stay Alert and Vigilant:
Be spiritually sensitive to avoid the traps of the enemy (1 Peter 5:8).
Biblical Example: Peter was miraculously delivered from prison when the church prayed fervently (Acts 12:5-11).
4. THE BENEFITS OF DIVINE ESCAPE
a) Freedom from Bondage:
Escape from spiritual, physical, and emotional traps (Psalm 107:14).
b) Restoration of Joy and Peace:
God replaces fear and sorrow with joy and peace (Isaiah 35:10).
c) Preservation of Destiny:
Divine escape ensures the fulfilment of God’s plans for our lives (Jeremiah 29:11).
d) Testimony of God’s Power:
Our escape becomes a testimony of God’s greatness (Psalm 126:1-3).
Biblical Example: Paul and Silas experienced divine escape from prison, which led to the salvation of the jailer and his family (Acts 16:25-34).
