INTRODUCTION:
To be anointed by the Holy Spirit is to be empowered and set apart for God’s purposes. The anointing of the Spirit enables believers to operate beyond natural ability, allowing God’s power to work through them. When God’s Spirit anoints us, we receive divine enablement to fulfil specific tasks, whether in ministry, service, or daily life. This Bible study will explore what it means to be anointed by the Spirit, how to operate in this anointing, and the impact it has on our lives and those around us.
1. THE ANOINTING ENABLES US TO FULFIL GOD’S PURPOSE
God’s anointing gives us the power and authority to carry out His will effectively.
a) Empowered for Ministry:
The anointing equips us for service, making us effective in ministry (Acts 1:8).
b) Strength to Overcome Obstacles:
With the Spirit’s anointing, we can face challenges with supernatural strength (Zechariah 4:6).
c) Power for Witnessing:
The Spirit empowers us to boldly share the gospel and impact lives (Acts 4:31).

The anointing activates and enhances spiritual gifts in our lives (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).
Biblical Example: Jesus, anointed by the Holy Spirit, went about healing and doing good works, impacting lives wherever He went (Acts 10:38).
2. THE ANOINTING SETS US APART FOR GOD’S SERVICE
The anointing is not just about power; it also sanctifies us, setting us apart for holy purposes.

d) Consecrated for God’s Use:
God’s anointing sets us aside for His specific purpose in our generation (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).
Biblical Example: Aaron and his sons were anointed for the priesthood, consecrating them for service in God’s temple (Exodus 30:30).
3. THE ANOINTING BREAKS YOKES AND SETS CAPTIVES FREE
