INTRODUCTION
Life’s circumstances, sins, or the accusations of the enemy often place negative labels on people. These labels can be a source of shame, guilt, and bondage, but through Christ, every negative label can be removed. The cross of Jesus not only paid the price for our sins but also disarmed every accusation and judgment against us. This sermon explores how the power of God removes every negative label from our lives and gives us a new identity in Christ.

1. IDENTIFYING THE LABELS IN OUR LIVES

a) Labels of Sin and Guilt
Sin brings condemnation and creates labels of unworthiness (Romans 3:23).

b) Labels of Failure and Defeat
Life's challenges can lead to feelings of failure and inadequacy (Joshua 7:7).

c) Labels of Generational Curses
Negative patterns in families often lead to inherited labels (Exodus 20:5).

d) Labels from the Enemy’s Accusations
The devil accuses believers day and night, seeking to label them (Revelation 12:10).

e) Biblical Example: The Adulterous Woman (John 8:3-11).
She was labeled by her sin, but Jesus removed her condemnation.

2. THE POWER OF THE CROSS TO REMOVE LABELS

a) Jesus Took Our Sin and Shame
Colossians 2:14 declares that Jesus canceled the record of charges against us by nailing it to the cross.

b) He Disarmed Principalities and Powers
Colossians 2:15 reveals that Jesus defeated the forces behind the labels.

c) Redemption Through His Blood
Ephesians 1:7 affirms that we have redemption and forgiveness through His blood.

d) A New Identity in Christ
2 Corinthians 5:17 declares that anyone in Christ is a new creation.

e) Biblical Example: Blind Bartimaeus (Mark 10:46-52).
He was labeled by his condition but received a new identity through Jesus’ healing.

3. STEPS TO REMOVING NEGATIVE LABELS

a) Accept Jesus as Lord and Saviour
John 1:12 states that those who receive Him become children of God.

b) Declare God’s Word Over Your Life
Proverbs 18:21 reminds us of the power of our words to speak life and freedom.

c) Renounce Every Negative Label
Galatians 3:13 shows that Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law.

d) Walk in the Freedom of Christ
John 8:36 declares that whom the Son sets free is free indeed.

e) Biblical Example: Jacob (Genesis 32:24-28).
God removed the label of "deceiver" and gave him a new name, Israel.

4. GOD’S PROMISES OF A NEW IDENTITY

a) He Calls You Righteous
2 Corinthians 5:21 declares that we are the righteousness of God in Christ.

b) He Calls You Victorious
Romans 8:37 affirms that we are more than conquerors through Him.

c) He Calls You Blessed
Ephesians 1:3 declares that we are blessed with every spiritual blessing.

d) He Calls You His Own
1 Peter 2:9 describes us as God’s chosen people, a royal priesthood.

e) Biblical Example: Saul to Paul (Acts 9:1-20).
God removed the label of persecutor and transformed him into an apostle.

5. WALKING IN YOUR NEW IDENTITY

a) Believe What God Says About You
Romans 10:17 reminds us that faith comes by hearing God’s Word.

b) Resist the Devil’s Lies
James 4:7 instructs us to resist the devil, and he will flee.

c) Surround Yourself With Godly Encouragement
Proverbs 27:17 shows the importance of iron sharpening iron.

d) Live to Reflect Christ’s Glory
Matthew 5:16 calls us to let our light shine before others.

e) Biblical Example: Peter (Luke 22:31-34; John 21:15-17).
Jesus restored Peter’s identity after his denial.

CONCLUSION:
In Christ, every negative label—be it sin, guilt, failure, or curses—is removed and replaced with a new identity. Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross disarmed the forces that tried to define us. As we walk in the truth of who we are in Christ, we can live in freedom, victory, and purpose.
