THE GOD WHO FIGHTS FOR HIS PEOPLE

INTRODUCTION:

God is a mighty warrior who fights for His people. Throughout Scripture, we see how He defends His children against their enemies. No matter the battles we face—spiritual, physical, emotional, or financial—God is our defender, and victory is assured when we trust in Him. This sermon explores how God fights for His people and how we can stand in faith to experience His deliverance.

1. GOD FIGHTS FOR HIS PEOPLE THROUGH DIVINE INTERVENTION

God steps in supernaturally to defend and deliver His people from their enemies.

a) God's Presence Brings Victory – His presence guarantees triumph over adversaries (Isaiah 41:10).

b) God Uses Unexpected Means to Deliver – He confounds the enemy in ways we cannot imagine (Judges 7:19-22).

c) God Turns the Plans of the Enemy Against Them – What is meant for evil, God turns for good (Genesis 50:20).

d) God Sends Angelic Assistance – He commands His angels to fight on our behalf (Psalm 91:11-12).

e) Biblical Example:
The Red Sea (Exodus 14:19-31) – God parted the Red Sea, delivering Israel and drowning Pharaoh’s army.

2. GOD FIGHTS FOR HIS PEOPLE THROUGH DIVINE STRATEGY

God does not fight battles the way men do; He provides divine strategies for victory.

a) Obedience to God Brings Victory – When we follow His instructions, we triumph (Joshua 6:2-5).

b) Praising God in Battle Releases Power – Worship confuses the enemy and brings divine intervention (2 Chronicles 20:21-22).

c) God Gives Wisdom for Warfare – His strategy leads to supernatural success (Proverbs 21:31).

d) Faith Activates God's Power in Battles – Trusting Him ensures victory (Hebrews 11:30).

e) Biblical Example:
The Battle of Jericho (Joshua 6:1-20) – God instructed Israel to march around Jericho, and the walls fell down.

3. GOD FIGHTS FOR HIS PEOPLE BY DESTROYING THE ENEMY’S PLANS

The enemy plots against God's people, but His power destroys every evil scheme.

a) No Weapon Formed Against You Shall Prosper – Every plan against you will fail (Isaiah 54:17).

b) God Frustrates the Devices of the Wicked – He overturns evil plots (Job 5:12).

c) God Causes Confusion in the Enemy’s Camp – He makes them turn against each other (2 Chronicles 20:22-23).

d) The Battle Is the Lord’s – We need not fear because He fights on our behalf (1 Samuel 17:47).

e) Biblical Example:
Haman’s Plot Against Mordecai (Esther 6:1-13) – Haman was hanged on the same gallows he prepared for Mordecai.

4. GOD FIGHTS FOR HIS PEOPLE THROUGH SUPERNATURAL PROTECTION

God shields His children from danger and preserves them from destruction.

a) God Is Our Refuge and Fortress – He is our place of safety (Psalm 91:1-4).

b) God Encamps Around Those Who Fear Him – He surrounds us with divine protection (Psalm 34:7).

c) The Lord Will Not Allow the Righteous to Be Moved – He upholds His people (Psalm 55:22).

d) God’s Name Is a Strong Tower – The righteous run to Him and are safe (Proverbs 18:10).

e) Biblical Example:
Daniel in the Lion’s Den (Daniel 6:16-23) – God shut the mouths of the lions and preserved Daniel.

5. GOD FIGHTS FOR HIS PEOPLE BY GIVING THEM VICTORY OVER SPIRITUAL WARFARE

Believers face spiritual battles, but God has already won the victory.

a) We Wrestle Not Against Flesh and Blood – Our battles are spiritual (Ephesians 6:12).

b) The Blood of Jesus Secures Our Victory – We overcome through His sacrifice (Revelation 12:11).

c) God Gives Us Spiritual Weapons for Battle – He equips us with the armour of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

d) Victory Is Assured in Christ – If God is for us, no one can stand against us (Romans 8:31).

e) Biblical Example:
Jesus' Victory Over Satan (Matthew 4:1-11) – Jesus overcame Satan’s temptations using the Word of God.

CONCLUSION:

No battle is too great for the Lord. He fights for His people, intervening in impossible situations, giving divine strategies, frustrating the enemy’s plans, providing supernatural protection, and ensuring victory in spiritual warfare. As we trust in Him, we can walk in confidence, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord.

PRAYER POINTS:

Father, thank You for being my defender and warrior.
Lord, arise and fight my battles in Jesus' name.
Every plan of the enemy against my life, be destroyed by fire!
Lord, give me divine strategies for victory in every battle.
Father, release Your angels to fight for me.
Every evil gathering against me, be scattered by fire!
Lord, surround me with Your supernatural protection.
Every weapon formed against me shall not prosper.
Lord, give me the victory over every spiritual attack.
Father, let my enemies fall into the pit they have dug for me.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

I declare that the Lord shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace!
Every battle in your life shall end in victory!
No weapon formed against you shall prosper in Jesus’ name!
Every evil conspiracy against you shall be destroyed!
The Lord shall send His angels to protect and fight for you!
You shall triumph over every enemy that rises against you!
Every plan of darkness against you shall be turned to your favour!
God shall give you divine strategies for breakthrough and victory!
Your battles shall become testimonies in Jesus’ name!
From today, you shall walk in perpetual victory, for the Lord is with you!
