THE GOD OF WONDERS

"Thou art the God that doest wonders: thou hast declared thy strength among the people."

INTRODUCTION:

God is a God of wonders—His works are marvellous, and His power is beyond human comprehension. From creation to the miracles of the Bible, His wonders reveal His greatness. The term "wonder" refers to acts that cause amazement, things that defy natural laws and human reasoning. As we explore this topic, we will see that the God of wonders is still at work today in the lives of those who trust in Him.

1. GOD'S WONDERS REVEAL HIS POWER

The wonders of God demonstrate His supreme authority over all things.

a) God’s Wonders Are Beyond Human Understanding – His works are too great to be fully comprehended (Job 5:9).

b) He Performs Great and Mighty Things – His wonders declare His strength (Psalm 77:14).

c) His Power Is Unlimited – Nothing is too hard for Him (Jeremiah 32:27).

d) He Overrules Natural Laws – He can suspend nature to fulfil His purpose (Exodus 14:21-22).

e) Biblical Example:
The Parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-31) – God displayed His mighty power by making a way where there was none.

2. GOD WORKS WONDERS THROUGH HIS CREATION

Everything in creation testifies to the wonders of God.

a) The Heavens Declare His Glory – The sun, moon, and stars display His greatness (Psalm 19:1).

b) The Earth Displays His Handiwork – Every living creature reflects His wisdom (Genesis 1:31).

c) He Created the Universe by His Word – He spoke, and everything came into being (Hebrews 11:3).

d) Nature Responds to His Commands – He controls the wind, rain, and elements (Mark 4:39).

e) Biblical Example:
The Sun Standing Still (Joshua 10:12-14) – God demonstrated His power over creation for the sake of His people.

3. GOD’S WONDERS MANIFEST IN HIS MIRACLES

God’s wonders are evident in the supernatural miracles He performs.

a) Healing the Sick – He is the Great Physician (Matthew 9:35).

b) Delivering the Oppressed – He sets captives free by His power (Luke 4:18).

c) Providing Supernaturally – He meets needs in extraordinary ways (1 Kings 17:14-16).

d) Raising the Dead – His power extends over life and death (John 11:43-44).

e) Biblical Example:
Jesus Turning Water into Wine (John 2:1-11) – This miracle demonstrated His authority over nature.

4. GOD OF WONDERS IN TIMES OF BATTLE

God shows His wonders in delivering His people from their enemies.

a) He Fights for His People – The battle belongs to Him (Exodus 14:14).

b) He Confounds the Enemies – He turns the plans of the wicked to foolishness (2 Chronicles 20:22-23).

c) He Delivers by Supernatural Means – He uses unexpected ways to rescue His own (Judges 7:19-22).

d) He Grants Victory Beyond Human Strength – No force can withstand His power (Psalm 44:3).

e) Biblical Example:
The Walls of Jericho Falling Down (Joshua 6:20) – God fought for Israel in a miraculous way.

5. GOD OF WONDERS IN OUR LIVES TODAY

God’s wonders are not limited to the past—He still works today.

a) He Saves and Transforms Lives – The greatest wonder is the new birth (2 Corinthians 5:17).

b) He Works Miracles in Our Midst – Signs and wonders follow those who believe (Mark 16:17).

c) He Answers Prayers in Amazing Ways – His power is still active (Ephesians 3:20).

d) He Fulfils His Promises – Nothing can stop what He has purposed (Isaiah 55:11).

e) Biblical Example:
The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4) – God’s wonders continued in the early Church and still continue today.

CONCLUSION:

The God of wonders is alive and working today as He did in the past. If you believe in Him, you will experience His wonders in your life. Trust Him, stand on His promises, and expect His mighty works.

PRAYER POINTS:

Father, I thank You for being the God of wonders.
Lord, manifest Your wonders in my life and family.
Every situation challenging Your power in my life, be overturned!
O God of wonders, arise and fight my battles!
Let the miraculous power of God be evident in my life.
I receive divine intervention in every difficult situation.
Lord, turn my struggles into testimonies of Your wonders.
By Your power, let doors of favour and breakthrough open for me!
O Lord, perform wonders in my ministry, business, and career.
I declare that I shall be a living testimony of God’s wonders!

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

I declare that you will experience the wonders of God in every area of your life!
The God of miracles will surprise you with supernatural breakthroughs!
Every closed door shall be opened by the power of God’s wonders!
You shall be a living testimony of divine intervention!
The enemies that rise against you shall be confounded by the God of wonders!
The wonders of God shall manifest in your health, finances, and family!
You shall walk in signs and wonders all the days of your life!
Whatever has been impossible in your life shall become possible!
The same God who performed wonders in the Bible will do mighty things in your life!
From today, wonders without number shall follow you in Jesus’ name!

This sermon encourages believers to expect and experience the mighty wonders of God.
