INTRODUCTION:
God is omnipresent and omniscient; He sees all things, whether in the light or in the dark. The name El Roi—the God Who Sees—was revealed to Hagar in a moment of distress and despair. In her moment of isolation and suffering, God revealed Himself as the One who sees, hears, and understands. This sermon will explore how El Roi sees His people, His care for them, and how we can find comfort and hope in His watchful eyes.
1. GOD SEES EVERYONE, EVERYWHERE
God's sight is not limited by time, space, or circumstance. He sees His creation in its entirety.
a) God Sees the Righteous and the Wicked – Nothing escapes His gaze (Psalm 33:13-15).
b) God Sees the Hidden Things – He sees both what is visible and invisible (Proverbs 15:3).
c) God Sees the Heart – He understands the thoughts and intentions of the heart (1 Samuel 16:7).
d) God Sees Our Pain and Suffering – He is aware of our struggles, even when others may not see (Exodus 3:7).
e) Biblical Example:
Hagar (Genesis 16:7-14) – Hagar, abandoned and mistreated, encountered God in the wilderness and gave Him the name El Roi, acknowledging that God saw her in her distress.
2. GOD SEES IN TIMES OF TROUBLE
In moments of adversity, when we feel alone and forgotten, El Roi is present, seeing and providing for us.

c) God Sees Our Tears – He collects our tears and understands our grief (Psalm 56:8).
d) God Sees Our Faithfulness – Even in hardship, God sees our efforts to remain faithful to Him (Hebrews 6:10).
e) Biblical Example:
The Israelites in Egypt (Exodus 3:7-10) – God saw the misery of the Israelites in slavery and responded by sending Moses to deliver them.
3. GOD SEES US WHEN OTHERS DO NOT
Often, human beings overlook or forget one another, but God never does.
a) God Sees Those in Hidden Places – When no one else is watching, God sees us (Matthew 6:6).

c) God Sees Those Who Feel Invisible – He notices and values those who may feel insignificant (Luke 12:6-7).
d) God Sees the Lonely – He cares for the isolated and brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
e) Biblical Example:
Ruth (Ruth 2:1-16) – Ruth, a widow, was overlooked by society, but God saw her heart, providing for her through Boaz’s kindness.
4. GOD’S EYE IS ON THE RIGHTEOUS
God watches over the righteous, ensuring they are protected and guided.
a) God Sees Our Uprightness – He pays attention to those who walk in righteousness (Psalm 11:7).
b) God Sees Our Obedience – He notices when we follow His commands (Deuteronomy 10:12-13).
