Description: Because Christ has conquered death and secured the believer's resurrection hope, Christians are called to remain steadfast and continually abound in God's work. Our labour for the Lord is never wasted. This message challenges believers to serve God diligently, faithfully, sacrificially, and joyfully, knowing that their service has eternal significance.

INTRODUCTION

First Corinthians 15 is one of the clearest chapters in Scripture concerning the resurrection. Paul establishes the certainty of Christ's resurrection, the future resurrection of believers, the transformation of the mortal body, and the final defeat of death. After presenting these glorious truths, he concludes with a practical exhortation: “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.” Resurrection truth should produce committed Christian service.

The word “therefore” connects our present responsibility with our future hope. Because Christ is risen, because believers will be raised, and because death will ultimately be defeated, there is every reason to remain faithful to God. Christianity is not merely about receiving blessings from God; it is also about becoming instruments through which His purposes are accomplished on earth.

Paul further assures believers that “your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” Some Christian service may appear unnoticed or unrewarded by people, but nothing done sincerely for Christ is wasted. God sees every sacrifice, prayer, act of service, word of encouragement, and labour of love. Therefore, believers should never give up but should continue to abound in the work of the Lord.

1. BE STEADFAST IN THE LORD

Christian service requires stability and commitment.

a) Be Firm In Faith (1 Corinthians 16:13)
Stand firmly in what you believe.

b) Remain Rooted In Christ (Colossians 2:6-7)
A strong relationship with Christ produces stability.

c) Do Not Be Easily Discouraged (Galatians 6:9)
Temporary difficulties should not stop faithful service.

d) Hold Fast Your Confession (Hebrews 10:23)
Remain committed because God is faithful.

2. BE UNMOVEABLE IN YOUR COMMITMENT

God calls His people to remain faithful despite opposition.

a) Resist Spiritual Opposition (Ephesians 6:13)
Stand firm against the schemes of the enemy.

b) Do Not Abandon Your Calling (2 Timothy 4:5)
Remain faithful to the ministry God has entrusted to you.

c) Continue In The Faith (Colossians 1:23)
Do not allow circumstances to move you away from Christ.

d) Finish Your Race (2 Timothy 4:7)
The goal is not merely to begin well but to finish faithfully.

3. ABOUND IN THE WORK OF THE LORD

God expects increasing commitment to His work.

a) Serve With Diligence (Romans 12:11)
Do not serve God carelessly or half-heartedly.

b) Use Your Gifts (1 Peter 4:10)
Every believer has something valuable to contribute.

c) Serve According To Grace (Romans 12:6)
Use the abilities God has given you for His purposes.

d) Give Yourself Fully To God's Work (1 Corinthians 15:58)
The Lord deserves our wholehearted service.

4. SERVE GOD WITH THE RIGHT MOTIVE

God is concerned not only with what we do but why we do it.

a) Serve From Love (1 Corinthians 13:1-3)
Service without love loses its spiritual value.

b) Serve To Glorify God (1 Corinthians 10:31)
God's glory should be the ultimate purpose of ministry.

c) Do Not Seek Human Applause (Matthew 6:1)
Our service should not depend upon public recognition.

d) Serve As Unto Christ (Colossians 3:23)
Whatever we do should be done wholeheartedly for the Lord.

5. EVERY BELIEVER HAS A PLACE IN GOD'S WORK

Christian ministry is not reserved for a select few.

a) We Are God's Workmanship (Ephesians 2:10)
God created us for good works.

b) Every Member Has A Function (1 Corinthians 12:12-27)
Every believer contributes to the body of Christ.

c) Spiritual Gifts Are For Service (1 Peter 4:10)
God gives gifts so that believers can minister to others.

d) No Labour Is Insignificant (1 Corinthians 15:58)
God values every sincere act of service.

6. DO NOT GROW WEARY IN WELL-DOING

Faithful service sometimes becomes difficult.

a) Weariness Can Come (Galatians 6:9)
Even committed believers can experience discouragement.

b) Do Not Give Up (Galatians 6:9)
The command is to continue doing good.

c) There Is A Harvest (Galatians 6:9)
Faithful labour will produce results in God's appointed time.

d) Keep Your Eyes On Christ (Hebrews 12:2-3)
Jesus provides the strength to persevere.

7. GOD REMEMBERS YOUR LABOUR

No genuine service for Christ is forgotten.

a) God Is Not Unjust (Hebrews 6:10)
He sees and remembers the work of His people.

b) God Sees Your Labour Of Love (Hebrews 6:10)
Your sacrifices may be unnoticed by people but are known by God.

c) God Rewards Faithfulness (Matthew 25:21)
Faithful servants will hear the Master's commendation.

d) Your Labour Is Not In Vain (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Every work done for Christ has eternal significance.

8. RESURRECTION HOPE MOTIVATES OUR SERVICE

Our future determines how we serve today.

a) Christ Is Risen (1 Corinthians 15:20)
The foundation of our hope is the risen Christ.

b) We Will Be Raised (1 Corinthians 15:22)
Believers have a glorious future beyond death.

c) Death Will Be Defeated (1 Corinthians 15:54-55)
Our labour is connected to an eternal victory.

d) Therefore, Serve Faithfully (1 Corinthians 15:58)
Resurrection hope should produce active commitment.

9. SERVE WITH EXCELLENCE AND FAITHFULNESS

God deserves our best.

a) Work Heartily (Colossians 3:23)
Do everything with wholehearted dedication.

b) Be Faithful In Little Things (Luke 16:10)
Faithfulness in small responsibilities matters to God.

c) Pursue Excellence (Daniel 6:3)
God-honouring service should be marked by diligence.

d) Remain Faithful To The End (Revelation 2:10)
Our commitment should continue throughout our lives.

10. OUR LABOUR HAS ETERNAL SIGNIFICANCE

Christian service extends beyond this present life.

a) Souls Matter Eternally (Daniel 12:3)
Those who lead others to righteousness have lasting impact.

b) Our Works Follow Us (Revelation 14:13)
Faithful service has eternal significance.

c) God Will Reward His Servants (Revelation 22:12)
Christ will reward each person according to his work.

d) Eternal Glory Awaits The Faithful (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
Those who finish faithfully will receive the crown of righteousness.

CONCLUSION

The command to abound in the work of the Lord is rooted in the glorious truth of Christ's resurrection. Since Christ has conquered death and believers have the promise of resurrection, our lives should not be wasted on temporary pursuits. We have been called to serve God faithfully, use our gifts, strengthen the Church, reach the lost, encourage the weak, and advance the kingdom of God.

There may be moments when our labour seems unnoticed, difficult, or fruitless, but God's Word assures us that “your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” Therefore, do not quit. Do not become spiritually passive. Remain steadfast, unmoveable, and always abound in God's work. The risen Christ is our hope, eternity is our destination, and faithful service is our present assignment.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, give me grace to remain steadfast and unmoveable in my faith, in Jesus name.

2. Lord, help me to abound continually in the work of the Lord, in Jesus name.

3. Father, awaken every spiritual gift and ability You have placed within me for effective service, in Jesus name.

4. Lord, deliver me from laziness, spiritual negligence, discouragement, and every attitude that hinders my service, in Jesus name.

5. Father, give me strength not to grow weary in doing good, in Jesus name.

6. Lord, purify my motives and help me to serve You from a heart of love and for Your glory alone, in Jesus name.

7. Father, let my service produce lasting fruit in Your kingdom and bring many people to Christ, in Jesus name.

8. Lord, help me to remain faithful even when my labour is not recognised or appreciated by people, in Jesus name.

9. Father, let the hope of resurrection and eternal reward continually motivate me to serve You diligently, in Jesus name.

10. Lord, help me to finish my Christian race faithfully and receive Your eternal reward at the end, in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall receive fresh grace to remain steadfast and unmoveable in Christ.

2. You shall not become weary or discouraged in the work of the Lord.

3. Every gift and ability God has placed in you shall become fruitful for His kingdom.

4. You shall serve God with renewed strength, passion, excellence, and faithfulness.

5. Every power of spiritual laziness and negligence shall be broken over your life.

6. Your service shall produce lasting fruit and impact lives for the glory of God.

7. God shall remember every sacrifice and labour of love you have offered in His service.

8. You shall not abandon your divine assignment before completing it.

9. Your labour in the Lord shall never be in vain; you shall see the fruit of your faithfulness.

10. You shall finish your race well, keep the faith, and receive the eternal reward prepared for faithful servants of Christ, in Jesus name.
