INTRODUCTION
In part 1 of this sermon, we explored how God surprises His people with sudden divine interventions that are beyond human expectation. Today, we will continue exploring the theme of supernatural surprises, focusing on how God works unexpectedly and mightily in the lives of those who are waiting in faith. From Elijah's prayer for rain after a long drought to Paul and Silas’ midnight deliverance, there are numerous biblical examples that show that God can turn any situation around in a moment.

1. THE ELEMENTS OF A SUDDEN SUPERNATURAL SURPRISE
A supernatural surprise is an event orchestrated by God that breaks the natural order and expectations.

a) God’s Timing is Perfect
God’s surprises always happen at the right moment (1 Kings 18:41).

b) It Comes After a Period of Waiting or Struggle
Elijah had to wait through the drought, and Paul and Silas were in prison before their miracle (Acts 16:25-26).

c) It Requires Faith and Obedience
To receive the surprise, we must act in faith, just as Elijah prayed and commanded the rain (1 Kings 18:42).

d) It Demonstrates God’s Power Over Natural Laws
A supernatural surprise defies human logic and natural circumstances (Exodus 14:21-22).

e) Biblical Example: Elijah’s Prayer for Rain
After a prolonged drought, Elijah prayed fervently, and God suddenly answered by sending rain (1 Kings 18:41-46).

2. THE PURPOSE OF A SUDDEN SUPERNATURAL SURPRISE
God’s surprises are not random; they are purposeful and aimed at fulfilling His divine plan.

a) To Bring Glory to God’s Name
God’s surprises highlight His greatness and power (John 11:43-44).

b) To Answer Prayer and Fulfilling Promises
When God surprises us, it is often the fulfilment of a promise made (Psalm 126:1-3).

c) To Test Our Faith and Trust in Him
Supernatural surprises often come after we have been tested (Jeremiah 29:11).

d) To Uplift and Encourage God’s People
A supernatural surprise serves to bring hope and strength to God’s people (Acts 16:25-26).

e) Biblical Example: Paul and Silas in Prison
Despite being bound, they prayed and sang, and suddenly there was an earthquake that led to their deliverance (Acts 16:25-26).

3. HOW TO POSITION YOURSELF FOR A SUDDEN SUPERNATURAL SURPRISE
While God's surprises are sovereign, there are ways we can position ourselves to receive them.

a) Pray Persistently
Consistent prayer invites God's intervention (Luke 18:1).

b) Worship God in the Midst of Trials
Paul and Silas worshipped God even in prison, and that brought a sudden breakthrough (Acts 16:25).

c) Keep Expecting the Unexpected
Expect God to move in ways you cannot imagine (Ephesians 3:20).

d) Trust God’s Promises and His Timing
Don’t give up, even if the situation looks hopeless (Isaiah 55:8-9).

e) Biblical Example: The Israelites at the Red Sea
When they were trapped by the sea and the Egyptian army, God made a way for them to cross (Exodus 14:21-22).

4. THE RESULTS OF A SUDDEN SUPERNATURAL SURPRISE
A supernatural surprise brings about extraordinary results that glorify God and change lives.

a) Instantaneous Deliverance and Breakthrough
What seemed impossible becomes possible in an instant (John 11:43-44).

b) Unprecedented Opportunities and Open Doors
God opens doors that no one can shut (Revelation 3:8).

c) Restoration and Restoration of Glory
God restores what was lost, as seen in the lives of Job and others (Job 42:10).

d) Increased Faith and Trust in God
Seeing God’s sudden intervention deepens our faith (Psalm 34:4-5).

e) Biblical Example: The Resurrection of Lazarus
Lazarus was dead, but when Jesus called his name, he rose from the dead in a moment (John 11:43-44).

5. MAINTAINING A POST-SURPRISE ATTITUDE
Once you experience a supernatural surprise, it’s important to handle it properly.

a) Give God the Glory and Testify of His Goodness
Testify to others about what God has done for you (Revelation 12:11).

b) Stay Humble and Grateful
Never allow a supernatural surprise to make you prideful; instead, remain humble (Luke 17:15-16).

c) Continue to Walk by Faith
Keep trusting and expecting God to move in new ways (2 Corinthians 5:7).

d) Use the Testimony for Kingdom Advancement
Use your experience to encourage others and advance God's kingdom (Acts 16:31-34).

e) Biblical Example: The Woman with the Issue of Blood
After her miraculous healing, she testified and glorified God (Mark 5:34).

CONCLUSION
God specializes in bringing about sudden surprises that defy all natural expectations. His surprises demonstrate His power, bring deliverance, and fulfill His promises. As we walk in faith, worship, and expectancy, we position ourselves for such divine interventions. Trust in God's timing, and remain open to the sudden surprises He has for you.
