THE WISDOM OF GOD

Description: God's wisdom is infinitely greater than human wisdom and is perfectly revealed in Jesus Christ, who is both the power and wisdom of God.

INTRODUCTION
Wisdom is the ability to understand truth and apply it correctly, but the wisdom of God is infinitely higher than human understanding. In 1 Corinthians 1:24-25, Paul declares that Christ is both "the power of God, and the wisdom of God." This revelation challenges the world's dependence upon human intelligence, philosophy, and reasoning as the ultimate source of truth.

The Corinthian believers lived in a culture that highly valued intellectual achievement and philosophical wisdom. Paul reminded them that God's plan of salvation through Christ crucified could not be discovered through human wisdom. What appeared foolish to the world was actually God's perfect wisdom at work, accomplishing what human strength could never achieve.

The wisdom of God is not merely information that we possess; it is truth that must shape how we live. When we trust God's wisdom, submit to His Word, and follow His guidance, we avoid many destructive paths and discover the purpose He has prepared for our lives.

1. GOD IS THE SOURCE OF ALL TRUE WISDOM
All genuine wisdom originates from God. Human beings may possess knowledge and intelligence, but God is the ultimate source of wisdom.

a) Wisdom Comes From God (Proverbs 2:6)
God is the source of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding, and He generously gives wisdom to those who seek Him.

b) God's Understanding Is Infinite (Psalm 147:5)
God possesses perfect understanding and sees what human beings cannot see.

c) God's Wisdom Is Unsearchable (Romans 11:33)
The depth of God's wisdom and knowledge is beyond complete human comprehension.

d) God Gives Wisdom To Those Who Ask (James 1:5)
Believers can confidently ask God for wisdom, knowing that He gives generously without reproach.

Biblical Example: Solomon asked God for wisdom to govern His people rather than requesting riches or long life, and God granted him extraordinary wisdom (1 Kings 3:5-12).

2. CHRIST IS THE WISDOM OF GOD
The greatest revelation of God's wisdom is found in Jesus Christ. God's eternal plan of redemption is perfectly expressed through Him.

a) Christ Reveals God's Wisdom (1 Corinthians 1:24)
Jesus is not merely a teacher of wisdom; He is described as the wisdom of God revealed to humanity.

b) Christ Is The Way To God (John 14:6)
Jesus provides the only true way to the Father and the ultimate answer to humanity's spiritual need.

c) Christ Provides Redemption (1 Corinthians 1:30)
Through Christ, believers receive righteousness, sanctification, and redemption according to God's perfect plan.

d) Christ Contains All Wisdom And Knowledge (Colossians 2:3)
The treasures of wisdom and knowledge are found in Christ, making Him sufficient for every spiritual need.

Biblical Example: Jesus demonstrated divine wisdom throughout His earthly ministry, answering difficult questions with truth and silencing those who sought to trap Him (Matthew 22:15-22, 33-46).

3. GOD'S WISDOM OFTEN CONTRADICTS HUMAN EXPECTATIONS
God's ways may appear strange to human reasoning, but His wisdom always accomplishes His divine purpose.

a) God's Ways Are Higher (Isaiah 55:8-9)
Human beings cannot always understand God's methods, but His ways remain perfect and trustworthy.

b) The Cross Appeared Foolish (1 Corinthians 1:18)
The crucifixion appeared to be defeat, yet God used it to accomplish salvation for humanity.

c) God Uses The Weak To Display His Power (1 Corinthians 1:27)
God often works through people and circumstances that appear insignificant so that His glory will be unmistakable.

d) Obedience Must Come Before Understanding (Hebrews 11:8)
Faith requires trusting God's instruction even when the complete outcome is not yet visible.

Biblical Example: God instructed Gideon to reduce his army dramatically before fighting Midian, making it clear that the victory would come from God rather than human strength (Judges 7:2-22).

4. WALK IN THE WISDOM OF GOD
Knowing God's wisdom should result in practical obedience. Believers must allow divine wisdom to guide their choices, relationships, and daily conduct.

a) Seek God's Guidance (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Trusting God rather than depending entirely upon personal understanding allows Him to direct our paths.

b) Obey God's Word (Psalm 119:105)
Scripture provides reliable guidance for decisions and protects believers from destructive choices.

c) Pursue Peace And Righteousness (James 3:17)
Godly wisdom produces purity, peace, gentleness, mercy, and good fruit.

d) Let Wisdom Shape Your Life (Ephesians 5:15-17)
Believers should live carefully and make the most of every opportunity according to God's will.

Biblical Example: Joseph demonstrated godly wisdom by interpreting Pharaoh's dream and providing a practical strategy that preserved Egypt and surrounding nations during famine (Genesis 41:14-40).

CONCLUSION
The wisdom of God is infinitely superior to human wisdom, and its greatest revelation is Jesus Christ. Through Christ, God has revealed His perfect plan of redemption and made available everything necessary for salvation and godly living. What the world may consider foolish, God uses to accomplish His eternal purposes.

Therefore, let us seek God's wisdom rather than depending solely upon our own understanding. Let His Word guide our decisions, let Christ shape our thinking, and let the Holy Spirit direct our steps. When we walk in God's wisdom, our lives will reflect His character, fulfil His purpose, and bring glory to His name.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, thank You for being the source of all true wisdom and understanding, in Jesus name.

2. Lord, give me wisdom to make decisions that are pleasing and acceptable to You, in Jesus name.

3. Father, help me to trust Your wisdom whenever I cannot understand Your ways, in Jesus name.

4. Lord, let the mind of Christ continually govern my thoughts and attitudes, in Jesus name.

5. Father, deliver me from relying solely upon human wisdom and personal understanding, in Jesus name.

6. Lord, give me grace to obey Your Word even when Your instructions challenge my expectations, in Jesus name.

7. Father, let Your wisdom guide my family, ministry, relationships, and daily decisions, in Jesus name.

8. Lord, fill me with wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, and full of good fruits, in Jesus name.

9. Father, let every decision I make according to Your wisdom produce good and lasting results, in Jesus name.

10. Lord, help me to continually grow in the knowledge of Christ and walk faithfully in Your wisdom all my days, in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. You shall continually walk in the wisdom that comes from God, and your decisions shall be guided by divine understanding.

2. The Lord shall grant you wisdom beyond your natural ability to handle every responsibility He has entrusted to you.

3. You shall not be confused concerning God's purpose for your life, because the Lord shall direct your steps.

4. Every decision that could lead you away from God's purpose shall be exposed and corrected by divine wisdom.

5. The wisdom of Christ shall govern your words, relationships, choices, and actions.

6. You shall receive divine insight to handle difficult situations with peace, maturity, and godly understanding.

7. The Lord shall cause you to recognise opportunities that align with His purpose and give you wisdom to respond appropriately.

8. You shall become a source of wise counsel and godly encouragement to many people around you.

9. Every challenge before you shall become an opportunity for God's wisdom and power to be demonstrated through your life.

10. You shall grow continually in the knowledge of Jesus Christ and finish your journey walking faithfully in the wisdom of God.
