Description: God has assigned angels as ministering spirits to preserve, protect, and exempt His children from evil, ensuring their safety and enforcing their covenant rights.

INTRODUCTION:
God in His infinite wisdom has not left His children unprotected in a world full of dangers, battles, and unseen spiritual forces. He has provided the ministry of angels to serve as supernatural agents of preservation and exemption. These celestial beings operate under God’s authority to watch over His covenant people and deliver them from harm.

The ministry of angels is often overlooked or misunderstood, yet it is one of the clearest evidences of God’s covenant of exemption. Angels are not to be worshipped, but they are divine messengers and warriors sent to shield believers from what consumes others. Where destruction, danger, or calamity strikes, the angels of God ensure His people are exempted and preserved.

This message is timely because many are afraid of dangers that lurk daily—accidents, sickness, sudden death, and spiritual attacks. But as children of God, we are not to live in fear, for heaven has dispatched an angelic army to surround us. Through the ministry of angels, you are preserved, exempted, and lifted beyond the reach of the enemy.

1. ANGELS ARE MINISTERING SPIRITS ASSIGNED TO BELIEVERS
God has given angels as part of His covenant plan for His children. They are not idle but actively work for the good of those who belong to Christ.

a) Angels serve those who inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14)
Angels are not for unbelievers but for covenant children, ensuring their preservation.

b) Angels are assigned by God to each believer (Matthew 18:10)
Every child of God has angelic guardians watching over their lives and destinies.

c) Angels are supernatural agents of exemption (Psalm 34:7)
They encamp around those who fear God, ensuring they are delivered.

d) Angels operate under divine command (Exodus 23:20)
They go ahead of you to prepare your way and keep you in safety.

Biblical Example: When Hagar and Ishmael were in the wilderness, the angel of the Lord appeared to provide water and preserve their lives (Genesis 21:17-19).

2. ANGELS BRING PROTECTION AND DELIVERANCE FROM DANGER
One of the primary roles of angels is to exempt God’s children from destruction. They enforce divine preservation in times of danger.

a) Angels rescue from physical danger (Acts 12:7-10)
Peter was miraculously delivered from prison by the intervention of an angel.

b) Angels stop the mouths of lions (Daniel 6:22)
God sent His angel to shut the lions’ mouths and exempt Daniel from destruction.

c) Angels fight battles on behalf of believers (2 Kings 19:35)
One angel destroyed an entire army, showing their power in spiritual warfare.

d) Angels intervene in times of calamity (Psalm 91:12)
They lift believers above situations that destroy others.

Biblical Example: Lot and his family were delivered by angels from the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, exempting them from the judgment that consumed others (Genesis 19:15-17).

3. ANGELS BRING PROVISION AND GUIDANCE
The ministry of angels goes beyond protection; they also provide divine guidance and supernatural provision when needed.

a) Angels bring divine provision (1 Kings 19:5-7)
An angel provided food for Elijah in the wilderness, preserving his life.

b) Angels give direction in divine assignments (Acts 8:26)
An angel directed Philip to the Ethiopian eunuch for kingdom advancement.

c) Angels guide and preserve destinies (Exodus 23:20)
They lead God’s people into the place prepared for them.

d) Angels ensure covenant blessings are delivered (Genesis 24:40)
Abraham testified that an angel would go before his servant to ensure success.

Biblical Example: The angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream, directing him to take baby Jesus to Egypt to preserve His life from Herod’s evil plot (Matthew 2:13).

4. ACTIVATING THE MINISTRY OF ANGELS
Though angels are available, believers must walk in obedience, faith, and prayer to enjoy their ministry fully.

a) Angels respond to the Word of God (Psalm 103:20)
Speaking God’s Word activates angelic operations in your life.

b) Angels are mobilised by prayer (Acts 12:5-7)
The church’s prayer triggered angelic intervention for Peter’s release.

c) Holiness sustains angelic covering (Psalm 34:7)
Those who fear God enjoy the encampment of angels around them.

d) Worship and obedience keep angels active (Exodus 23:21)
As long as you obey God’s voice, His angel remains assigned to your life.

Biblical Example: Cornelius’ devotion, prayer, and almsgiving attracted an angel who brought divine instruction for his household’s salvation (Acts 10:3-6).
