Description: To be exempted for glory means God separates you from shame, reproach, and destruction, and sets you apart to reveal His splendour in your life.
INTRODUCTION:
Exemption is a divine mystery of the covenant. While others are swallowed by calamities, God singles out His children for preservation and honour. In every generation, God has always marked His people with exemption, and that exemption is not for ordinary living but for glory. Glory is the manifestation of God’s beauty, greatness, and divine presence in a person’s life.
When a man is exempted for glory, his life shines even in the midst of darkness. While others face shame, setback, and reproach, the exempted child of God enjoys divine lifting, preservation, and honour. It is not because of merit but because of the covenant of God’s love and the seal of Christ’s redemption.
This is our heritage as believers: to be exempted from the destruction and decay in the world and to be set apart as carriers of God’s glory. We are not meant to be victims of life’s troubles but vessels of God’s greatness.
1. DIVINE EXEMPTION IS A COVENANT REALITY
Exemption is not a coincidence; it is a covenant right for those who belong to God.
a) God exempts His own – (Psalm 91:7) A thousand may fall at your side, but it shall not come near you.
b) Exemption comes by the blood – (Exodus 12:13) The blood on the doorposts exempted Israel from the plague of death.
c) Exemption separates light from darkness – (Exodus 8:22) God exempted Goshen from the plagues of Egypt.
d) Exemption is an inheritance of the righteous – (Proverbs 10:6) Blessings crown the head of the righteous.
Biblical Example: The Israelites in Egypt – Though plagues ravaged the land, Goshen was preserved as a sign of divine exemption.
2. GLORY IS GOD’S DESIGN FOR HIS CHILDREN
We are not created for shame; we are created to reflect God’s glory.
a) Man was created in glory – (Psalm 8:4-5) God crowned man with glory and honour at creation.
b) Glory is restoration in Christ – (John 17:22) Jesus gave us the same glory the Father gave Him.
c) Glory lifts above affliction – (Romans 8:18) Present sufferings cannot compare to the glory revealed in us.
d) Glory is God’s presence made visible – (Exodus 33:18-19) Moses asked God, “Show me Your glory,” and God revealed His goodness.
Biblical Example: Jesus at the Transfiguration (Matthew 17:1-2) – He was set apart as the glory of God radiated visibly on Him.
3. BEING EXEMPTED FOR GLORY MEANS DISTINCTION
God’s glory makes you stand out where others blend in.
a) Glory distinguishes you from the crowd – (Isaiah 60:2) Darkness covers the earth, but glory rests on God’s people.
b) Glory makes you a testimony – (Zechariah 8:23) Nations will hold onto you because they see God with you.
c) Glory promotes you above limitations – (Genesis 41:39-41) Joseph was lifted by God’s glory despite being a slave.
d) Glory commands divine favour – (Psalm 30:7) God’s favour establishes us in His glory.
Biblical Example: Daniel in Babylon (Daniel 6:3) – Though an exile, he was distinguished by the glory of God in wisdom and excellence.
4. HOW TO WALK IN EXEMPTION AND GLORY
Every believer must learn how to activate and sustain this covenant reality.
a) Live under the covering of the blood – (Revelation 12:11) Victory comes by the blood of the Lamb.
b) Walk in obedience – (Deuteronomy 28:1) Obedience positions you for divine glory.
c) Live a consecrated life – (2 Timothy 2:21) Vessels of honour are separated for God’s glory.
d) Stay in God’s presence – (2 Corinthians 3:18) As we behold Him, we are transformed into His glory.
Biblical Example: Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego (Daniel 3:25) – The fire exempted them, and the Son of God revealed His glory in their deliverance.
CONCLUSION:
To be exempted for glory is to live a life where God’s hand makes you untouchable by evil while showcasing His splendour through you. It means you are not covered by shame or destruction but marked for beauty, lifting, and distinction.
As children of God, we must understand that exemption and glory are not mere promises but our covenant realities. If we abide under His covering and walk in obedience, we shall continually enjoy divine separation from affliction and live as carriers of His glory.
