Description: The blood of Jesus is God’s seal of exemption that preserves His children from destruction, judgement, and calamity.
INTRODUCTION:
From the beginning of time, blood has played a vital role in God’s dealings with humanity. In the Old Testament, the blood of animals was used as a covering for sin and a seal for exemption from destruction. During the first Passover in Egypt, God instructed the Israelites to apply the blood on their doorposts so that the angel of death would not touch them. This was the mystery of divine exemption through the blood.
In the New Testament, the ultimate sacrifice was made when Jesus shed His blood at Calvary. Unlike the temporary covering of animal sacrifices, the blood of Jesus provides eternal redemption, cleansing, and exemption from condemnation. This blood does not only cover sin but also speaks better things than the blood of Abel, granting us deliverance, preservation, and victory.
To be exempted by the blood means you are divinely separated from evil, calamity, and judgement that consume others. It is God’s covenant seal over your life, ensuring that destruction passes over you and your destiny shines in glory.
1. THE BLOOD IS GOD’S SEAL OF EXEMPTION
The blood is not ordinary; it is a divine mark that separates God’s people from destruction.
a) The blood marks you for safety – (Exodus 12:13) The plague could not touch those under the blood.
b) The blood speaks on your behalf – (Hebrews 12:24) The blood of Jesus speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
c) The blood is a shield from judgement – (Romans 5:9) We are saved from wrath through His blood.
d) The blood silences the accuser – (Revelation 12:11) We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony.
Biblical Example: The Israelites in Egypt – The blood on their doors exempted them from the plague of death while destruction struck the Egyptians.
2. THE BLOOD REDEEMS US FROM DESTRUCTION
The blood rescues us from the powers of sin, death, and the curse of the law.
a) The blood redeems from sin – (Ephesians 1:7) We have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
b) The blood delivers from death – (Hebrews 2:14) Jesus destroyed the one who had the power of death through His blood.
c) The blood breaks generational curses – (Galatians 3:13) Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by His sacrifice.
d) The blood establishes eternal life – (John 6:53-54) Whoever partakes of His blood has eternal life.
Biblical Example: Rahab in Jericho (Joshua 2:18-19) – The scarlet cord, a symbol of blood, exempted her family from destruction when the city fell.
3. THE BLOOD GUARANTEES DIVINE PROTECTION
Wherever the blood is applied by faith, divine protection is established.
a) The blood is a covering from evil – (Psalm 91:10) No evil shall befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.
b) The blood preserves destinies – (1 Peter 1:19) The precious blood of Christ secures our lives.
c) The blood frustrates satanic attacks – (Colossians 2:15) By His sacrifice, Jesus disarmed principalities and powers.
d) The blood ensures angelic intervention – (Exodus 23:20) God sends His angel ahead of those under His covenant.
Biblical Example: Job (Job 1:9-10) – Though not explicitly stated as blood, the hedge around Job was a symbol of divine covering that the blood of Christ now guarantees in fullness.
4. HOW TO ACTIVELY WALK IN THE POWER OF THE BLOOD
To enjoy exemption by the blood, you must apply it by faith and obedience.
a) Apply the blood through faith – (Romans 3:25) The blood works for those who believe.
b) Invoke the blood in prayer – (Hebrews 10:19) We enter boldly into God’s presence by the blood.
c) Confess the blood continually – (Revelation 12:11) Testify of the blood’s power over your life.
d) Live a consecrated life under the blood – (Hebrews 9:14) The blood cleanses our conscience to serve the living God.
Biblical Example: The early church (Acts 12:5-11) – Though Peter was imprisoned, divine exemption came by the blood covenant, and an angel delivered him supernaturally.
CONCLUSION:
The blood of Jesus is God’s ultimate seal of exemption. It separates, redeems, and protects those who are under its covering. What destroys others cannot destroy a man under the blood because the blood speaks life, mercy, and victory.
To walk in this exemption, believers must live under the consciousness of the blood daily, applying it in faith and living consecrated lives. By the blood, you are not a victim but a victor, not condemned but redeemed, not vulnerable but covered.
