INTRODUCTION:
The altar of prayer is a sacred place where humanity meets divinity. It is a place of empowerment, renewal, and communion with God. However, for the altar to be effective, it must remain ignited with fervent and consistent prayer. When the fire of prayer burns continually, it generates divine results and establishes God’s will on earth.

1. THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE ALTAR OF PRAYER

a) A place of divine encounter
The altar is where we experience God’s presence (Genesis 28:16-17).

b) A place of sacrifice
Prayer requires surrender and self-denial (Romans 12:1).

c) A place of covenant
Covenants with God are initiated and renewed at the altar (Genesis 15:9-18).

d) A place of warfare
Battles are won on the altar of prayer (2 Chronicles 20:22).

e) Biblical Example: Elijah repaired the altar and called down fire from heaven (1 Kings 18:30-39).
