INTRODUCTION:
God’s promises are sure, steadfast, and unchanging. However, their fulfilment often requires human responsibility. Activating the manifestation of God’s promises involves faith, obedience, and persistence. This teaching focuses on practical steps to bring God’s promises to fruition in our lives.
1. UNDERSTANDING GOD’S PROMISES
a) The Nature of God’s Promises:
God’s promises are unfailing and eternal (Numbers 23:19).
b) The Assurance of God’s Promises:
They are guaranteed in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
c) The Timing of God’s Promises:
Some promises require patience (Habakkuk 2:3).
d) The Purpose of God’s Promises:
They are meant for our good and His glory (Jeremiah 29:11).
e) Biblical Example:
Abraham trusted in God’s promise of a son and received it despite the delay (Genesis 21:1-3).
2. STEPS TO ACTIVATE GOD’S PROMISES
a) Know and Believe God’s Word:
Faith begins with knowledge of His promises (Romans 10:17).
b) Pray Fervently:
Prayer aligns you with God’s will and activates His promises (1 John 5:14-15).
c) Obey God’s Instructions:
Obedience is key to accessing His blessings (Deuteronomy 28:1).
d) Exercise Patience and Endurance:
Waiting on God shows trust in His timing (Hebrews 6:12).
e) Biblical Example:
The Israelites received the Promised Land by trusting and obeying God’s commands (Joshua 21:45).
3. HINDRANCES TO THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S PROMISES
a) Doubt and Unbelief:
These weaken faith and delay fulfilment (James 1:6-7).
b) Sin and Disobedience:
They block God’s blessings (Isaiah 59:1-2).
c) Impatience:
Moving ahead of God can cause setbacks (Genesis 16:1-4).
d) Negative Confessions:
Words can either activate or hinder promises (Proverbs 18:21).
e) Biblical Example:
The unbelief of the Israelites caused them to wander in the wilderness for 40 years (Numbers 14:33-34).
4. SUSTAINING THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S PROMISES
a) Gratitude and Thanksgiving:
Always give thanks for what God has done (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
b) Continued Faith and Trust:
Keep believing even after the promise is fulfilled (Mark 11:22).
c) Diligence in Service to God:
Stay committed to His purpose (Romans 12:11).
d) Testifying About God’s Goodness:
Share your testimony to encourage others (Revelation 12:11).
e) Biblical Example:
David continually praised God after becoming king, sustaining God’s favour in his life (Psalm 34:1).
5. BENEFITS OF THE MANIFESTATION OF GOD’S PROMISES
a) Fulfilled Joy:
Experiencing His promises brings deep satisfaction (John 15:11).
b) Increased Faith:
Manifestations strengthen your belief in God (Romans 4:20).
c) Divine Favour:
God’s promises attract more blessings (Psalm 84:11).
d) Testimony to Others:
Manifested promises draw others to Christ (Matthew 5:16).
e) Biblical Example:
The birth of Isaac brought joy and laughter to Abraham and Sarah, fulfilling God’s promise (Genesis 21:6).
CONCLUSION:
God’s promises are sure, but we must actively work to bring them to manifestation through faith, prayer, obedience, and patience. Recognise and overcome any hindrances, and continually sustain your blessings with thanksgiving and trust in God. Remember, He who has promised is faithful to fulfil.
