INTRODUCTION:
Ancestral altars represent spiritual strongholds established by previous generations, often tied to idolatry, ungodly covenants, and sacrifices. These altars perpetuate negative generational patterns such as poverty, sickness, marital delays, or untimely deaths. However, through Christ, believers have the authority to break the hold of these altars and walk in freedom. This teaching will guide us on how to identify, confront, and destroy the influence of ancestral altars through the power of God.

1. UNDERSTANDING ANCESTRAL ALTARS

a) Definition of Ancestral Altars
Altars set up by ancestors for idolatry, sacrifices, or ungodly covenants (Judges 6:25).

b) Spiritual Implications
These altars act as gateways for curses, demonic activities, and strongholds in families (Exodus 20:3-5).

c) How Altars Gain Power
Through repeated sacrifices, oaths, and ungodly practices that enforce spiritual agreements (Psalm 106:36-39).

d) Manifestations of Ancestral Altars
Patterns of failure, chronic illnesses, barrenness, and other negative cycles in families (Lamentations 5:7).

e) Biblical Example: The altar of Baal in Gideon’s family, which brought bondage until it was destroyed (Judges 6:25-27).

2. HOW ANCESTRAL ALTARS HOLD GENERATIONS HOSTAGE

a) Through Generational Curses
Sins of the forefathers can lead to generational consequences unless broken (Exodus 34:6-7).

b) Through Ungodly Covenants
Covenants made at altars bind families to demonic oppression (Isaiah 28:15).

c) Through Spiritual Legal Rights
Demons claim authority over families through altars and sacrifices (Hosea 4:6).

d) Through Ignorance
Many suffer from ancestral altars because they lack knowledge of their spiritual authority (Ephesians 4:18).

e) Biblical Example: Saul’s family suffered because of bloodshed caused by his ancestors (2 Samuel 21:1).

3. STEPS TO BREAKING THE HOLD OF ANCESTRAL ALTARS

a) Identify the Altars
Ask God to reveal patterns and roots of ancestral altars in your life (Jeremiah 33:3).

b) Repent and Renounce
Confess the sins of your ancestors and renounce all ungodly covenants (Leviticus 26:40-42).

c) Apply the Blood of Jesus
The blood of Jesus is the ultimate weapon against ancestral altars (Revelation 12:11).

d) Destroy the Altars Spiritually
Pray and decree the destruction of every altar speaking against you (Jeremiah 1:10).

e) Biblical Example: Gideon destroyed his family’s altar of Baal and built an altar to God, bringing deliverance (Judges 6:25-27).

4. ENFORCING YOUR FREEDOM FROM ANCESTRAL ALTARS

a) Stand on Your Identity in Christ
As a new creation, you are no longer bound by ancestral curses (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Raise altars of prayer, worship, and righteousness to counter ancestral altars (Genesis 12:7).

5. WALKING IN TOTAL FREEDOM FROM ANCESTRAL ALTARS

Obedience ensures that no foothold is given to the enemy (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

b) Break Ungodly Alliances
Sever ties with ungodly practices, people, or objects connected to ancestral altars (2 Corinthians 6:14-18).

c) Engage in Continuous Warfare
Maintain your victory through consistent spiritual warfare prayers (Ephesians 6:12-18).

d) Testify of God’s Deliverance
Share your testimony to overcome the enemy and encourage others (Revelation 12:11).

e) Biblical Example: Israel walked in freedom after destroying Jericho’s cursed city and dedicating it to God (Joshua 6:18-19).

CONCLUSION:
Ancestral altars are potent spiritual strongholds, but as believers, we have victory through Christ. By identifying and destroying these altars, applying the blood of Jesus, and raising godly altars, we can break free from negative generational patterns. Declare your deliverance today and walk in the freedom and blessings of God.

3. The blood of Jesus speaks deliverance and blessings over your life.

4. Your family will no longer be victims of ancestral strongholds.

5. God is raising you as a deliverer for your family.

6. No weapon formed against you through ancestral altars shall prosper.

7. You will walk in the fullness of your divine inheritance.

8. The voice of ungodly altars is silenced permanently in your life.

9. The blessings of Abraham will manifest in your life and lineage.

10. Your family will serve the Lord, and His favour will rest upon you.
