SERMON: DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL INHERITANCE

INTRODUCTION:
An evil inheritance refers to negative spiritual, emotional, or physical traits and consequences passed down from one generation to another. The Bible speaks of both blessings and curses being transferred across generations, and without intervention, these patterns can negatively affect the destiny of individuals. Through Christ, we have the power to break free from every evil inheritance. This sermon will highlight the nature of evil inheritance, its impact, and how to secure deliverance through the power of God.

1. UNDERSTANDING EVIL INHERITANCE

a) The Consequences of Generational Sin:
Many families suffer from generational patterns of sin, curses, or failure because of the sins of their ancestors. The Bible mentions how the sins of the fathers can affect their children (Exodus 20:5).

b) Manifestations of Evil Inheritance:
Evil inheritance can manifest in various forms: sickness, poverty, marital failure, untimely death, barrenness, and recurring family tragedies. These may indicate a spiritual inheritance that needs to be broken.

c) Spiritual Laws of Inheritance:
Just as natural inheritance passes through bloodlines, spiritual inheritance also passes through generations. This includes both blessings and curses (Ezekiel 18:2-4).

Biblical Example: The house of Ahab and Jezebel was cursed, and the evil they perpetrated affected their descendants (1 Kings 21:21-22).

2. THE POWER OF GENERATIONAL CURSES

a) Effects of Generational Curses:
Generational curses can create cycles of failure, disease, and sin that continue across multiple generations. Individuals may find themselves repeating the same mistakes or experiencing similar problems as their ancestors.

b) Legal Rights of Curses:
Curses often have legal rights to operate in families due to disobedience, idol worship, or involvement in the occult by previous generations. These legal rights must be addressed for deliverance to occur (Deuteronomy 28:15-20).

c) Jesus Christ, Our Deliverer:
Christ came to redeem us from the curse of the law, including any generational curses. His blood is powerful enough to break the chain of evil inheritance (Galatians 3:13).

Biblical Example: When the Israelites worshipped idols, they brought curses upon themselves and future generations. However, when they repented, God broke the curse and restored them (Judges 3:7-9).

3. IDENTIFYING EVIL INHERITANCE IN YOUR LIFE

a) Recurring Negative Patterns:
If you notice recurring patterns of sickness, failure, poverty, or sin in your family, it may be the result of an evil inheritance. These patterns often seem to follow family members despite their best efforts to break free.

b) Dreams and Revelations:
God can reveal the presence of an evil inheritance through dreams, prophetic words, or other spiritual revelations. Pay attention to any warning signs or divine insights you receive.

c) Personal Struggles and Setbacks:
Sometimes, personal struggles that resist prayer, fasting, or effort can be rooted in an evil inheritance. This may require specific deliverance prayers to break free.

Biblical Example: In 2 Samuel 21:1, a famine struck Israel because of an unresolved issue related to King Saul’s actions. This shows how past sins can affect future generations.

4. HOW TO BREAK FREE FROM EVIL INHERITANCE

a) Renounce and Repent:
The first step in breaking free from evil inheritance is to renounce any known or unknown sins of your ancestors. Repent for any generational involvement in idolatry, witchcraft, or other forms of rebellion against God (Leviticus 26:40-42).

b) Break Every Legal Right:
In prayer, break the legal rights of any curse or evil pattern operating in your family. Declare that you are no longer under the law of sin and death, but under the law of life in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:2).

c) Plead the Blood of Jesus:
The blood of Jesus is the ultimate power for deliverance. Plead the blood over your life, family, and future generations, breaking every evil inheritance by the power of His sacrifice (Revelation 12:11).

Biblical Example: The woman with the issue of blood was healed after 12 years of suffering when she touched Jesus. Similarly, when we reach out to Christ in faith, we are delivered from every form of affliction (Mark 5:25-34).

5. MAINTAINING YOUR DELIVERANCE FROM EVIL INHERITANCE

a) Live in Obedience to God's Word:
Deliverance requires that we continue to walk in obedience to God's Word. The enemy often tries to reclaim lost ground, but when we remain faithful to God, we close every door to future attacks (Deuteronomy 28:1-2).

b) Declare Your Freedom Daily:
Use your words to enforce your freedom. Speak the promises of God over your life daily, declaring that you are free from every curse, bondage, and evil inheritance (Proverbs 18:21).

c) Align Yourself with God’s Covenant:
Blessings are passed through obedience and alignment with God's covenant. Continue to align yourself with His promises, living a life of holiness and faithfulness (Genesis 12:2-3).

Biblical Example: In 2 Chronicles 7:14, God promises to heal the land and restore blessings when His people repent and turn from their wicked ways.

CONCLUSION:
Evil inheritance can be a hindrance to our spiritual and physical progress, but through the power of God, every evil inheritance can be broken. Jesus has redeemed us from every curse, and as we renounce, repent, and plead the blood of Jesus over our lives, we can walk in complete freedom and experience the fullness of God's blessings. Stay rooted in Christ, and declare daily that you are free from every evil pattern and curse.

5. Father, let every chain of generational bondage be broken in my life and my children’s lives, in Jesus’ name.

6. I declare that my family is free from every curse of poverty, backwardness, and destruction, in Jesus’ name.

7. By the power in the blood of Jesus, I cleanse my bloodline from every evil inheritance, in the name of Jesus.

8. Lord, deliver me from every ancestral spirit that seeks to control my destiny, in Jesus' name.

9. I speak the blessing of the Lord over my family, and I reject every evil inheritance, in Jesus' name.

10. Father, let every good thing stolen from my family line be restored in Jesus’ name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS:

1. I decree that every generational curse in your family is broken today in the name of Jesus.

2. From today, the cycle of failure, sickness, and disappointment in your family comes to an end.

3. I declare that you are free from every evil inheritance; your life will reflect the blessings of God.

4. Every chain of bondage in your bloodline is destroyed, and you will walk in total freedom.

5. You will not inherit the evil patterns of your ancestors; you will create a new legacy of blessings.

6. By the blood of Jesus, I declare that you are exempted from every curse in your family line.

7. From this day forward, your children will walk in divine blessings and favour.

8. I prophesy that every form of oppression that has troubled your family is destroyed in Jesus' name.

9. The Lord will rewrite the story of your family, and you will be known for greatness.

10. I declare that your family is blessed beyond measure, and you will be a testimony of God’s deliverance.
