INTRODUCTION:
A shield is a protective device that guards against attacks. In spiritual terms, God is our divine shield, offering us protection, defence, and security against the fiery darts of the enemy. Divine shield ensures we are safe in the midst of life’s battles, trials, and challenges. This sermon will highlight the importance, benefits, and how to activate the divine shield for our lives.

1. WHAT IS A DIVINE SHIELD?

a) A Covering of Protection
God becomes a refuge and fortress to those who trust Him (Psalm 91:4).

b) Defence Against Evil
The shield of God stops every attack of the enemy (Isaiah 54:17).

c) Preservation of Life
Divine shield preserves you from harm and destruction (Psalm 121:7).

d) Assurance of Safety
God’s shield guarantees peace amidst chaos (Proverbs 18:10).

e) Biblical Example: Job was protected by God’s hedge until it was temporarily lifted (Job 1:10).

2. BENEFITS OF THE DIVINE SHIELD

a) Protection from Physical Harm
God shields us from visible and invisible dangers (Psalm 91:7).

b) Deliverance from Spiritual Attacks
The shield of faith extinguishes the fiery darts of the wicked (Ephesians 6:16).

4. HINDRANCES TO THE DIVINE SHIELD

a) Sin and Disobedience
Sin breaks the hedge of protection (Ecclesiastes 10:8).

Doubt and unbelief hinder God’s shielding power (James 1:6).

c) Pride and Self-Reliance
Trusting in oneself removes reliance on God (Proverbs 16:18).
