YOU ARE UNTOUCHABLE

TITLE: YOU ARE UNTOUCHABLE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text:
Daniel 3:26-27 (NKJV) "Then Nebuchadnezzar went near the mouth of the burning fiery furnace and spoke, saying, 'Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here.' And Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego came from the midst of the fire. The satraps, administrators, governors, and the king's counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed, nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them."

Supporting Texts:
Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV) – "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you."
Romans 8:31 (NKJV) – "What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?"

INTRODUCTION:
In a world filled with trials and tribulations, it is essential to understand our position as children of the Most High God. The story of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego is a powerful testament to God’s ability to protect His people from harm. When they were thrown into the fiery furnace for refusing to bow to an idol, they emerged unharmed, demonstrating that they were untouchable. This sermon will explore the factors that contribute to our untouchable status in the face of life's fiery challenges.

1. STANDING FIRM IN FAITH
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego exemplified unwavering faith in God amidst intense pressure.

a) Refusal to Compromise: They chose to remain true to their beliefs rather than conform to societal pressure (Daniel 3:16-18).

b) Bold Declaration: Their response to Nebuchadnezzar showcased their confidence in God’s ability to deliver them (Daniel 3:17).

c) Courage in Crisis: They did not allow fear to dictate their actions, standing firm in the face of death (2 Timothy 1:7).

d) Trusting God’s Will: Their faith included trust in God, even if His deliverance did not come as they expected (Job 13:15).

Biblical Example:
Daniel himself faced a similar challenge when he continued to pray to God despite the king's decree (Daniel 6:10).

2. GOD’S PRESENCE IN THE FIRE
When we face trials, we are not alone; God’s presence is with us.

a) Divine Companionship: God promises to be with us in our troubles, just as He was with the three Hebrew boys (Isaiah 43:2).

b) Protection from Harm: The fire had no power over them because God was in their midst (Psalm 91:15).

c) Peace Amidst Chaos: In the fire, they experienced divine peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

d) Empowered to Overcome: God's presence equips us to face challenges and emerge victorious (Philippians 4:13).

Biblical Example:
In the New Testament, Jesus calmed the storm for His disciples, demonstrating His power over chaos (Mark 4:39).

3. EVIDENCE OF GOD’S DELIVERANCE
The outcomes of our trials can serve as a testimony to God’s greatness.

a) Public Demonstration of God’s Power: Nebuchadnezzar acknowledged the miraculous preservation of the three men (Daniel 3:26).

b) Influence on Others: Their experience led to a proclamation of God’s greatness throughout the kingdom (Daniel 3:29).

c) Testimonies of Faith: Our victories can inspire and encourage others to trust in God (Revelation 12:11).

d) Transforming Lives: God can use our untouchable status to bring others to Him (Matthew 5:16).

Biblical Example:
The healing of the blind man in John 9 led to many believing in Jesus through his testimony of transformation.

4. LIVING AS UNTOUCHABLES
Understanding our identity in Christ makes us untouchable in the spiritual realm.

a) Identity in Christ: As children of God, we are set apart and protected from the enemy’s attacks (1 John 5:18).

b) Authority Over Darkness: We have been given authority to trample on serpents and scorpions (Luke 10:19).

c) Shield of Faith: Our faith acts as a shield against fiery darts aimed at us by the enemy (Ephesians 6:16).

d) Promised Protection: We stand on God’s promises of protection, knowing that He will defend us (Psalm 91:1-2).

Biblical Example:
David’s victory over Goliath illustrates how confidence in God’s protection leads to triumph over giants (1 Samuel 17:45-47).

CONCLUSION:
Just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego emerged from the fiery furnace untouched, we too can walk through life's challenges knowing that we are untouchable when we stand firm in faith. God's presence is with us in every trial, empowering us to overcome and emerge victorious. Remember, our testimonies serve to glorify God and influence others. Embrace your identity as a child of God and stand confidently in the knowledge that you are untouchable.
