GOD OF 24-HOUR MIRACLE

TITLE: GOD OF 24-HOUR MIRACLE

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

Main Text:  2 Kings 7:1 (KJV)
1. Then Elisha said, Hear ye the word of the LORD; Thus saith the LORD, To morrow about this time shall a measure of fine flour be sold for a shekel, and two measures of barley for a shekel, in the gate of Samaria.

INTRODUCTION:
The God we serve is the God of sudden miracles, who can change our situations in the blink of an eye. In 2 Kings 7:1, the prophet Elisha delivers a prophetic word from God that a drastic change in circumstances will occur within 24 hours. This miraculous turnaround in Samaria illustrates God's ability to intervene in dire situations and bring about rapid transformation. Today, we will explore the nature of 24-hour miracles, the conditions for receiving them, and how we can position ourselves for such divine interventions.

1. THE PROMISE OF A 24-HOUR MIRACLE
Recognizing the potential for immediate divine intervention.

a) Divine Assurance: God speaks through His prophets to assure His people of miraculous changes (2 Kings 7:1).

b) Shift in Circumstances: The promise of a new economic reality was declared when there seemed to be no hope.

c) Faith Required: The fulfillment of God's promise often requires our faith to activate the miracle (Hebrews 11:6).

d) God’s Timing: Miracles can happen in God's appointed time, often much sooner than we expect (Ecclesiastes 3:11).

Biblical Example:
The turnaround in the life of the widow of Zarephath, where her resources multiplied through divine intervention (1 Kings 17:8-16).

2. UNDERSTANDING THE CONTEXT
The background of need and desperation in Samaria.

a) Desperate Times: The city of Samaria was experiencing severe famine and hopelessness (2 Kings 6:24-30).

b) Human Limitations: In dire situations, human effort often proves insufficient to bring about change (Matthew 19:26).

c) God's Power in Weakness: God specializes in turning our weaknesses into strengths (2 Corinthians 12:9).

d) Awareness of Need: Recognizing our desperate need for God opens the door for miracles (Psalm 34:6).

Biblical Example:
The Israelites in bondage in Egypt cried out to God, and He intervened swiftly through Moses (Exodus 3:7-10).

3. CONDITIONS FOR A 24-HOUR MIRACLE
Understanding how to position ourselves for miraculous interventions.

a) Obedience to God's Word: We must heed the instructions given through His Word and His messengers (James 1:22).

b) Faith and Expectation: Having faith in God's ability to perform miracles sets the stage for His intervention (Matthew 9:29).

c) Prayer and Fasting: Engaging in prayer and fasting can facilitate breakthroughs (Matthew 17:21).

d) Worship and Praise: Praising God amidst our challenges attracts His presence and power (Psalm 22:3).

Biblical Example:
Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns in prison, resulting in a miraculous deliverance (Acts 16:25-26).

4. RECEIVING THE MIRACLE
Understanding how to recognize and accept God's miraculous acts.

a) Stay Alert: We must be spiritually aware of the miracles God is performing around us (Isaiah 43:19).

b) Accept the Change: Be willing to embrace the new reality that God brings forth (2 Corinthians 5:17).

c) Testify of God’s Goodness: Sharing testimonies encourages others and reinforces our faith (Revelation 12:11).

d) Gratitude for the Miracle: Thankfulness solidifies our faith and draws us closer to God (1 Thessalonians 5:18).

Biblical Example:
The lepers who were healed by Jesus went back to thank Him, showcasing the importance of gratitude (Luke 17:15-19).

5. THE IMPACT OF A 24-HOUR MIRACLE
Understanding the broader implications of God’s intervention.

a) Restoration of Hope: Miracles restore hope to individuals and communities facing despair (Romans 15:13).

b) Change in Status Quo: A miracle can dramatically alter personal and societal circumstances (John 5:8-9).

c) Testimony of God’s Glory: Miracles serve as testimonies that glorify God and draw others to Him (Matthew 5:16).

d) Inspiration for Others: Your testimony of a 24-hour miracle can inspire faith in those around you (2 Corinthians 1:4).

Biblical Example:
The resurrection of Lazarus not only impacted his life but also drew many to believe in Jesus (John 11:45).

CONCLUSION:
