Description: In Christ Jesus, no matter the prevailing conditions around you, your destiny is secured in God’s covenant of lifting and elevation.
INTRODUCTION:
Life presents moments when men experience downfall, failures, and disappointments. Nations may sink in crises, families may struggle with hardship, and individuals may go through personal battles. Yet, God promises His covenant children that even when men are cast down, their case will be different.
The God we serve is the Lifter of men. He raises the poor from the dust and the needy from the ash heap, to set them among princes. He takes men from the back and brings them to the front, from obscurity into visibility, and from shame into glory.
Beloved, you are not designed to remain on the ground. You were created to rise, shine, and reign in life through Christ Jesus. Today, I declare unto you: there is a lifting up for you!
1. GOD IS THE LIFTER OF MEN
True lifting does not come from man, but from God.
a) Lifting is by divine ordination (Psalm 75:6-7)
Exaltation comes from God alone.
b) God lifts the humble (James 4:10)
When you humble yourself, He exalts you in due time.
c) God lifts the righteous (Psalm 92:12)
The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree.
d) God lifts His covenant children (Isaiah 60:1)
Arise, shine, for your light has come!
Biblical Example: Joseph was lifted by God from prison to the palace, despite being forgotten by men (Genesis 41:39-41).
2. LIFTING COMES IN TIMES OF FALLING
When others are cast down, God lifts His people.
a) God preserves His children in crisis (Psalm 91:7)
A thousand may fall, but it will not come near you.
b) God restores lost glory (Joel 2:25-26)
He gives beauty for ashes.
c) God brings hope in hopeless situations (Romans 4:18)
Abraham believed against hope and was lifted.
d) God saves the humble in adversity (Job 22:29)
His mercy exalts the contrite in spirit.
Biblical Example: Mephibosheth was forgotten and living in obscurity, but God lifted him through David and placed him at the king’s table (2 Samuel 9:6-7).
3. KEYS THAT PROVOKE DIVINE LIFTING
There are spiritual principles that activate God’s lifting.
a) A life of obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1)
Obedience positions you for elevation.
b) A life of prayer (1 Chronicles 4:10)
Jabez prayed, and God lifted him from pain to honour.
c) A life of service (Exodus 23:25-26)
Serving God leads to supernatural lifting.
d) A life of faith (Hebrews 11:6)
Faith attracts God’s reward and promotion.
Biblical Example: Hannah’s dedication and prayer life provoked her lifting from barrenness to becoming a joyful mother of children (1 Samuel 1:27).
4. DIVINE LIFTING BRINGS TRANSFORMATION
When God lifts you, your story changes permanently.
a) From shame to glory (Isaiah 61:7)
Double honour shall replace your shame.
b) From sorrow to joy (Psalm 30:11)
God turns mourning into dancing.
c) From stagnation to progress (Deuteronomy 1:6)
You shall move forward by His word.
d) From obscurity to visibility (Matthew 5:14)
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Biblical Example: Esther was lifted from being an orphan in captivity to becoming queen in a foreign land (Esther 2:17).
CONCLUSION:
Beloved, no matter what is happening around you, settle it in your heart: your case is different, and your story will not end in shame. Men may be cast down, but for you, there is a lifting up. God is committed to your elevation, restoration, and transformation.
Hold on to His promises, walk in obedience, and declare by faith: “There is a lifting up in my life!”
