Description: Divine favour is a supernatural key that God uses to open doors of opportunity, promotion, and blessings that human effort alone cannot achieve.
INTRODUCTION:
Favour is the supernatural kindness and acceptance that comes from God and positions a person for unusual opportunities, blessings, and breakthroughs. When God unlocks divine favour over a man’s life, protocols are suspended, impossibilities become possible, and closed doors open effortlessly. Divine favour is not based on human qualification or merit; it is the unmerited kindness of God that distinguishes His children from others.
Throughout the Scriptures, we see that divine favour is often the turning point in the lives of God’s people. Joseph, Esther, Mary, and many others rose to great heights not only because of their skills or wisdom but because the favour of God was unlocked over their lives. In this message, we will learn how God unlocks divine favour and positions His children for uncommon testimonies.
1. GOD IS THE SOURCE OF DIVINE FAVOUR
Before divine favour can be unlocked, we must understand that God is its ultimate source. He alone determines who receives favour and when it is released.
a) God gives favour according to His will (Romans 9:16) – It is not of him that wills, nor of him that runs, but of God that shows mercy.
b) Favour is God’s gift to His children (Proverbs 3:3-4) – When mercy and truth are bound around our neck, we obtain favour in the sight of God and man.
c) No one can stop the favour of God (Psalm 5:12) – God surrounds the righteous with favour as with a shield, making them untouchable by the enemy.
d) God’s favour is better than man’s approval (Psalm 30:5) – His favour lasts a lifetime and brings joy beyond human recognition.
Biblical Example: Joseph obtained favour from God, and even in prison, God made him find favour in the sight of the keeper (Genesis 39:21).
2. GOD UNLOCKS FAVOUR THROUGH HIS MERCY
Mercy is often the key that unlocks the door of divine favour. Without the mercy of God, favour cannot flow.
a) Mercy qualifies the unqualified (Romans 9:15) – God says He will have mercy on whom He will have mercy.
b) Mercy brings supernatural lifting (1 Samuel 2:8) – God lifts the poor from the dust and sets them among princes.
c) Mercy attracts the compassion of God (Lamentations 3:22-23) – It is of the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed, and His compassion never fails.
d) Mercy changes seasons (Psalm 102:13) – Mercy provokes God to arise and release favour at the appointed time.
Biblical Example: Esther obtained mercy before King Ahasuerus, and it unlocked uncommon favour that made her queen (Esther 2:17).
3. GOD UNLOCKS FAVOUR THROUGH RIGHTEOUS LIVING
Living a life that pleases God is a channel through which He releases His favour upon His people.
a) Righteousness attracts divine favour (Proverbs 12:2) – A good man obtains favour from the Lord, but a man of wicked intentions is condemned.
b) Holiness opens the heavens of favour (Psalm 84:11) – The Lord withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly.
c) Integrity secures favour with men (Daniel 6:4) – Daniel’s righteous lifestyle unlocked divine favour before kings.
d) Faithfulness positions us for favour (Matthew 25:21) – The faithful servant is rewarded and promoted to higher levels.
Biblical Example: Daniel lived a righteous life in Babylon, and God gave him favour before kings and rulers (Daniel 1:9).
4. GOD UNLOCKS FAVOUR TO FULFIL DIVINE PURPOSE
God does not release favour randomly; He does it with a purpose—to advance His kingdom and fulfil His plans in our lives.
a) Favour positions us for destiny fulfilment (Jeremiah 29:11) – God’s thoughts are of good to bring us to an expected end.
b) Favour opens doors that cannot be shut (Revelation 3:7-8) – When God opens the door of favour, no man can close it.
c) Favour makes us solution providers (Genesis 41:39-41) – Joseph’s favour lifted him to provide solutions for nations.
d) Favour brings us into places of influence (Proverbs 18:16) – The gift of a man makes room for him and brings him before great men.
Biblical Example: Mary found favour with God and became the chosen vessel to bring forth the Saviour of the world (Luke 1:30-31).
CONCLUSION:
