INTRODUCTION:
Glory represents the divine honour, beauty, and destiny God has placed upon a man. It is what distinguishes a person in life and makes them shine among others. Every individual is born with glory, but the enemy seeks to swallow, cover, or exchange it so that one may live below God’s purpose.
When a man’s glory is swallowed, he experiences delay, frustration, and struggles where he ought to succeed. Many people are alive but their glory has been buried, covered, or hijacked by satanic forces. Yet, the good news is this: no matter how long your glory has been hidden, God is able to restore it and cause it to shine again.
Today’s message is a prophetic assurance that your glory shall not be swallowed. Whatever the enemy has taken from you, the Lord shall cause a divine restoration, and your glory shall shine brighter in Jesus’ name.
1. UNDERSTANDING THE MEANING OF GLORY
Glory is the divine expression of God’s beauty and power in the life of a man.
a) Glory is divine honour and splendour (Psalm 8:5).
God crowns man with glory and honour, distinguishing him from all creation.
b) Glory is the light of destiny (Isaiah 60:1).
Without glory, a man remains in obscurity no matter his efforts.
c) Glory is the seal of distinction (Genesis 37:9).
Joseph’s dreams were his glory, marking him for greatness.
d) Glory is God’s deposit for fulfilment (Jeremiah 29:11).
Your glory is tied to your divine purpose in life.
Biblical Example: Joseph (Genesis 41:39-44) — Though his brothers tried to kill his glory, God preserved it and exalted him in Egypt.
2. ENEMIES THAT SEEK TO SWALLOW GLORY
There are forces and personalities that rise against the manifestation of a man’s glory.
a) Witchcraft and demonic powers (Ezekiel 13:18-19).
They exchange destinies and swallow virtues through evil covenants.
b) Household enemies (Micah 7:6).
Sometimes, the greatest threats to a man’s glory come from his own family.
c) Wrong associations (1 Corinthians 15:33).
Evil company corrupts glory and hinders divine manifestation.
d) Sin and disobedience (Romans 3:23).
Sin causes the glory of God to depart from a man.
Biblical Example: Samson (Judges 16:19-21) — Through Delilah, the Philistines swallowed his glory until God restored him at the end.
3. SIGNS THAT A MAN’S GLORY IS UNDER ATTACK
When glory is swallowed, there are visible signs and manifestations.
a) Constant failure at the edge of breakthrough (Deuteronomy 28:29).
Success slips away repeatedly.
b) Strange delays and stagnation (Daniel 10:12-13).
Efforts are wasted without results.
c) Unexplainable hatred and rejection (Genesis 37:4).
People resist you without cause because of the glory you carry.
d) Dreams of loss and oppression (Matthew 13:25).
The enemy operates in dreams to capture destinies.
Biblical Example: Jabez (1 Chronicles 4:9-10) — Born with swallowed glory, until he cried to God and his story changed.
4. HOW TO RECOVER SWALLOWED GLORY
God has provided ways for His children to recover their lost or hidden glory.
a) Prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21).
Spiritual warfare is required to forcefully recover what the enemy has taken.
b) Total obedience to God (Deuteronomy 28:1).
Obedience restores divine favour and glory.
c) Deliverance through the Word (Psalm 107:20).
The Word of God exposes and destroys the works of darkness.
d) The blood of Jesus (Revelation 12:11).
The blood is the weapon that forces the enemy to vomit stolen glory.
Biblical Example: David (1 Samuel 30:8-19) — When his glory was stolen at Ziklag, he sought God, pursued the enemy, and recovered all.
5. DIVINE PRESERVATION OF YOUR GLORY
It is not enough to recover; God also preserves glory from future attacks.
a) Living in holiness (Hebrews 12:14).
Purity preserves glory from satanic invasion.
b) Dwelling in the presence of God (Psalm 91:1).
God’s covering shields your glory from devourers.
c) Continual praise and thanksgiving (Psalm 67:5-6).
Praise provokes divine increase and sustains glory.
d) Walking in covenant with God (Genesis 17:1-2).
Covenant relationship secures your destiny in God.
Biblical Example: Daniel (Daniel 6:3-28) — His glory was preserved by God even in the lion’s den, and he prospered in Babylon.
CONCLUSION:
Your glory is God’s gift for your distinction and fulfilment in life. Though the enemy may try to swallow it through battles, manipulations, or attacks, God has given the assurance that your glory shall not be swallowed. As you rise in prayer, holiness, and covenant with God, your glory shall manifest in full, and nothing shall be able to hinder it.
