Description: Every altar of limitation speaking against your destiny must be broken so you can walk in liberty and fulfil God’s purpose for your life.
INTRODUCTION
Altars are spiritual platforms of covenant where sacrifices are offered and spiritual transactions are carried out. They serve as points of contact between the spiritual and the physical realms. When an altar is dedicated to God, it releases blessings, but when it is raised to idols or demons, it enforces curses, bondage, and limitations.
Many people today are struggling not because they lack effort, skill, or intelligence, but because unseen altars are working against their progress. Such altars enforce barriers, delay, stagnation, and oppression. Evil altars can operate from families, territories, or personal lives if not confronted.
The good news is that Jesus Christ has given us authority to destroy every satanic altar and to establish godly altars that release favour, progress, and victory. Like Gideon and Elijah, every believer must rise in spiritual warfare to tear down evil altars and raise the altar of the Lord.
1. UNDERSTANDING ALTARS OF LIMITATION
Every altar represents a voice and a covenant. Evil altars place restrictions on destinies and limit progress.
a) Altars as spiritual gateways (Genesis 28:17): Altars open doors for spiritual forces to influence lives. Evil altars bring demonic interference.
b) Altars enforce covenants (Judges 6:25): Evil covenants established through altars bind destinies into cycles of limitation.
c) Altars speak continuously (1 Kings 13:2): Until silenced, evil altars release negative decrees against lives.
d) Altars can be generational (Exodus 34:7): Limitations often pass through bloodlines due to ancestral altars.
Biblical Example: Gideon was limited by his father’s altar of Baal until he tore it down and raised an altar unto the Lord (Judges 6:25–32).
2. MANIFESTATIONS OF ALTARS OF LIMITATION
When altars of limitation are active, their effects can be seen in visible struggles.
a) Cycles of failure (Deuteronomy 28:29): Constant rise and fall with no lasting progress.
b) Delayed breakthroughs (Daniel 10:13): Blessings are hindered and testimonies are prolonged.
c) Near-success syndrome (Deuteronomy 1:2): Getting close to breakthrough but never entering it.
d) Family-wide struggles (Lamentations 5:7): Patterns of poverty, sickness, or barrenness in entire families.
Biblical Example: The man at the Pool of Bethesda was trapped in limitation for 38 years until Jesus broke the altar of delay over his life (John 5:2–9).
3. HOW TO BREAK THE ALTARS OF LIMITATION
Believers must actively confront and destroy these altars through the power of Christ.
a) Identify the altar (Jeremiah 1:10): Through prayer and revelation, discover the source of limitation.
b) Destroy through the blood of Jesus (Colossians 2:14–15): The cross cancels every handwriting of ordinances.
c) Raise a godly altar (Genesis 12:7): Replace evil altars with consistent prayer, worship, and sacrifice to God.
d) Speak against them (Job 22:28): Use God’s Word to silence every voice from evil altars.
Biblical Example: Elijah repaired the altar of God and destroyed the influence of Baal’s prophets (1 Kings 18:30–39).
4. KEYS TO SUSTAINING FREEDOM FROM LIMITATION
Deliverance from altars must be preserved by walking in spiritual principles.
a) Walk in obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1–2): Obedience to God ensures continual freedom.
b) Live a holy life (Hebrews 12:14): Holiness shuts the door against satanic access.
c) Maintain a life of prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17): Constant prayer keeps evil altars powerless.
d) Engage in sacrificial giving (Psalm 50:5): Sacrificial altars to God release favour and victory.
Biblical Example: Abraham continually built godly altars, ensuring covenantal blessings over his lineage (Genesis 13:18).
CONCLUSION
Every altar of limitation can be broken in the name of Jesus. Just as Gideon, Elijah, and others confronted the evil altars of their time, you too have the mandate to confront and destroy any altar resisting your progress.
Freedom from limitation is possible when you destroy evil altars, raise godly altars, and sustain your victory through obedience, holiness, prayer, and sacrifice. God has destined you for progress, and no altar of limitation shall hold you bound.
