Description: God is so compassionate that even the silent, unspoken cries of His children are heard, remembered, and answered by Him.
INTRODUCTION:
Life is filled with moments of deep struggles, hidden pains, and silent battles. Many times, people may never know the intensity of what someone else is going through because the pain is expressed not in words but in tears. Yet, there is a God who sees beyond words and hears even the silent tear.
When men overlook us and our pain goes unnoticed, God never ignores us. The Bible makes it clear that He keeps record of every tear. Our tears are not forgotten; they are prayers written in the language of sorrow and hope. He hears them, He values them, and He responds to them.
This message is to encourage us that our weeping is not in vain. God hears, God remembers, and God will wipe away every tear. If we remain steadfast, those tears will give way to joy and testimonies.
1. GOD VALUES EVERY TEAR
Tears are not wasted before God; they are treasures that He gathers and records.
a) God collects tears as prayers (Psalm 56:8)
Even when words fail, tears become a prayer that rises to God’s throne.
b) God interprets the language of sorrow (Romans 8:26)
The Spirit helps translate groanings and tears into divine petitions.
c) God never forgets tears shed in faith (Malachi 3:16)
Every act of faith, including tears, is written in His book of remembrance.
d) God promises to wipe away tears (Isaiah 25:8)
The same God who records tears also wipes them away with comfort and restoration.
Biblical Example: Hezekiah wept before God in his sickbed, and God added 15 more years to his life (Isaiah 38:5).
2. GOD RESPONDS TO THE TEARS OF HIS PEOPLE
Tears are not only recorded but also provoke divine action when they are shed in faith.
a) Tears move God to deliver (Exodus 3:7)
God heard the cry of Israel in Egypt and came down to deliver them.
b) Tears bring divine intervention (1 Samuel 1:10-11)
Hannah’s bitter tears before God opened the womb that was shut.
c) Tears invite God’s attention (Psalm 34:15)
The eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears are attentive to their cry.
d) Tears produce joy in the end (Psalm 126:5-6)
Those who sow in tears shall surely reap in joy.
Biblical Example: Hannah’s tears in Shiloh turned her barrenness into fruitfulness when Samuel was born (1 Samuel 1:19-20).
3. GOD TURNS TEARS INTO TESTIMONIES
The tears we shed in His presence will never end in shame but in glory and testimony.
a) God transforms sorrow into singing (Psalm 30:5)
Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.
b) God replaces mourning with gladness (Isaiah 61:3)
He gives beauty for ashes, joy for mourning, and praise for heaviness.
c) God brings restoration after pain (Job 42:10)
After tears of suffering, Job received double of all he had lost.
d) God promises eternal comfort (Revelation 21:4)
One day, God will wipe away all tears forever.
Biblical Example: The tears of the widow of Nain moved Jesus to raise her son from the dead (Luke 7:13-15).
4. HOW TO POSITION YOURSELF FOR GOD’S RESPONSE TO TEARS
For God to hear and respond to our tears, we must approach Him rightly.
a) Cry out to Him in faith (Mark 9:23)
Tears must be accompanied with faith in God’s power to answer.
b) Pour out your soul in prayer (1 Samuel 1:15)
God responds to sincere, heartfelt prayers.
c) Remain steadfast in righteousness (Psalm 34:15)
God hears the cry of the righteous, not the rebellious.
d) Trust His timing and promises (Habakkuk 2:3)
Though it tarries, His answer will not fail.
Biblical Example: The Israelites cried to God in slavery, and at the appointed time, He sent Moses as their deliverer (Exodus 3:7-10).
CONCLUSION:
God is not indifferent to our silent tears. He records them, responds to them, and transforms them into testimonies. No matter how hidden or silent your pain may be, God sees and will answer.
Therefore, let us continue to seek Him in prayer and faith, knowing that every tear shed before Him will produce joy and breakthrough. He is the God who hears even the silent tear.
