INTRODUCTION:
Every man carries a star, which represents his destiny, glory, and divine assignment on earth. Stars are symbols of divine light and manifestation of God’s purpose in one’s life. Unfortunately, many people’s stars are attacked, covered, delayed, or dimmed by the forces of darkness. The good news is that no matter the battles, your star must shine by the authority of God’s Word.
When the wise men came seeking Jesus, they declared, “We have seen His star in the East.” This means that stars can be seen, recognised, and followed. If Jesus had a star that guided men to Him, then every believer also has a divine star that must shine and announce their destiny to the world.
In this sermon, we will examine how to ensure that our God-given star must shine in spite of opposition.
1. THE REALITY OF YOUR STAR
Your star represents your identity, assignment, and divine destiny before God.
a) A star is a divine marker of destiny (Numbers 24:17). God uses stars as prophetic symbols of people’s destinies.
b) Stars represent light in darkness (John 1:5). Every star shines brightest in dark times.
c) God has ordained every believer to shine as stars (Philippians 2:15). You are not meant to be hidden but to manifest.
d) Your star is unique (1 Corinthians 15:41). No two stars are the same; your destiny is distinct.
Biblical Example: The star of Jesus (Matthew 2:1-2) guided wise men to the King of kings.
2. POWERS THAT FIGHT AGAINST YOUR STAR
There are forces that try to dim or swallow the glory of men’s stars.
a) Witchcraft manipulation (Ezekiel 13:18). Evil powers attempt to cover destinies.
b) Household wickedness (Micah 7:6). Family enemies often fight the star of greatness.
c) Envy and jealousy (Genesis 37:10-11). Joseph’s brothers envied his dreams and sought to kill his star.
d) Sin and disobedience (Isaiah 59:2). Sin can cover a man’s star from shining.
Biblical Example: King Herod sought to destroy Jesus because of His star (Matthew 2:16).
3. HOW TO PROTECT YOUR STAR
To shine, you must guard your destiny from satanic attacks.
a) Prayer warfare (Matthew 11:12). Stars are preserved through violent prayers.
b) Holiness and purity (Hebrews 12:14). A pure life keeps your star shining without hindrance.
c) Covenant connection (Genesis 12:2-3). Walking in covenant with God protects your destiny.
d) Discernment (1 John 4:1). You must discern those who seek to dim your light.
Biblical Example: Daniel preserved his star through holiness and prayer (Daniel 6:10).
4. HOW TO MAKE YOUR STAR SHINE BRIGHTER
God has called us not only to shine but to shine brighter.
a) Rise and shine by divine command (Isaiah 60:1). Obeying God’s command releases your light.
b) Use your gifts and talents (Proverbs 18:16). Your star shines when you manifest your God-given abilities.
c) Walk in wisdom (Ecclesiastes 8:1). Wisdom makes a man’s face shine.
d) Shine through soul-winning (Daniel 12:3). Those who turn many to righteousness shine as stars forever.
Biblical Example: Joseph’s star shone brighter despite opposition until he ruled in Egypt (Genesis 41:39-41).
5. PROPHETIC DECLARATION OVER YOUR STAR
Your star must shine regardless of opposition.
a) Your star shall not be covered (Isaiah 25:7). Every veil over your destiny is destroyed.
b) Your star shall overcome every Herod (Psalm 91:11). God will protect your destiny from evil powers.
c) Your star shall announce you to kings (Isaiah 60:3). Nations shall come to your light.
d) Your star shall shine brighter every day (Proverbs 4:18). Your destiny will move from glory to glory.
Biblical Example: The wise men located Jesus by His star (Matthew 2:9-10).
CONCLUSION:
Your star represents your God-given destiny. Though powers of darkness may rise against it, you are ordained by God to shine. No force can stop a man whom God has destined to shine. As you remain in Christ, walk in holiness, and engage in prayer warfare, your star must shine to the glory of God.
