THE PROFIT OF GOD'S HELP

Description

God's help is not merely an intervention in times of crisis; it produces tangible spiritual and practical benefits in the life of the believer. When God becomes our Helper, He gives strength, protection, direction, provision, victory, restoration, and advancement. This sermon examines the remarkable benefits that come when a person depends on the help of God.

INTRODUCTION

Every human being needs help at some point in life. There are situations where our knowledge, experience, money, connections, and physical strength are insufficient. At such moments, divine help becomes the difference between defeat and victory. The psalmist confidently declared, “My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” He knew that the One who created heaven and earth possesses unlimited ability to intervene in human situations.

The help of God is different from ordinary human assistance. A person may help you today and become unavailable tomorrow, but God remains faithful. Human help may address one aspect of a problem, but God's help can address the root, provide direction, give strength, and bring lasting victory. When God helps a person, He does not merely rescue that person from trouble; He can transform the entire situation into a testimony.

Therefore, God's help must never be taken for granted. We should understand its value and learn to depend upon the Lord. When God helps you, your weakness becomes an opportunity for His strength, your limitation becomes an opportunity for His power, and your impossible situation becomes a platform for His glory.

1. GOD'S HELP GIVES SUPERNATURAL STRENGTH

One major profit of God's help is the strength to accomplish what human ability cannot accomplish.

a) Strength In Times Of Weakness (Isaiah 41:10)
When we are weak and overwhelmed, God promises to strengthen and uphold us.

b) Strength To Continue (Galatians 6:9)
Divine strength enables us to continue doing what is right even when results seem delayed.

c) Strength To Face Difficult Battles (Ephesians 6:10)
The believer's strength comes from the Lord and the power of His might.

d) Strength Beyond Human Capacity (Philippians 4:13)
Through Christ, we receive grace to face circumstances that would otherwise overwhelm us.

Biblical Example: Samson (Judges 15:14-15). When the Spirit of God came upon him, he received supernatural strength beyond his natural ability.

2. GOD'S HELP BRINGS VICTORY

When God helps you, opposition cannot have the final word.

a) Victory Over Impossible Battles (2 Chronicles 20:15)
Jehoshaphat learned that some battles belong to God.

b) Victory Over Powerful Enemies (Psalm 44:5-7)
God can give victory even when the opposition is stronger than us.

c) Victory Over Fear (Psalm 56:3-4)
Divine help gives us courage to trust God rather than surrender to fear.

d) Victory Through Christ (Romans 8:37)
The believer's ultimate victory is found in Christ.

Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat (2 Chronicles 20:1-22). Judah had no military ability sufficient for the battle, but God intervened and defeated their enemies.

3. GOD'S HELP BRINGS DIVINE PROTECTION

God's help provides security that human resources cannot guarantee.

a) Protection From Evil (Psalm 121:7)
The Lord is able to preserve His people from evil.

b) Protection Day And Night (Psalm 121:6)
God watches over His children continually.

c) Protection In Dangerous Places (Psalm 23:4)
Even in the valley of the shadow of death, God's presence gives confidence.

d) Protection From Hidden Traps (Psalm 91:3)
God can deliver His people from hidden dangers and destructive schemes.

Biblical Example: Daniel (Daniel 6:16-23). God protected Daniel in the lions' den and demonstrated His power over the threat against him.

4. GOD'S HELP PROVIDES DIVINE DIRECTION

Another profit of God's help is that He does not merely give us strength; He shows us where to go.

a) Direction For Your Path (Proverbs 3:5-6)
When we acknowledge God, He directs our paths.

b) Wisdom For Decisions (James 1:5)
God gives wisdom generously to those who ask Him.

c) Direction In Confusing Seasons (Psalm 32:8)
God promises to instruct and teach His people in the way they should go.

d) Guidance Into His Purpose (Isaiah 30:21)
God can guide us when we are uncertain about the right direction.

Biblical Example: Abraham's servant (Genesis 24:12-27). He prayed for divine direction, and God guided him to the woman who would become Isaac's wife.

5. GOD'S HELP BRINGS PROVISION

God is able to supply what His children need according to His purpose.

a) He Is Our Provider (Philippians 4:19)
God supplies the needs of His people according to His riches in glory.

b) He Provides In Difficult Seasons (Psalm 23:1)
The Lord is our Shepherd, and He knows how to care for His sheep.

c) He Opens Unexpected Sources (1 Kings 17:8-16)
God provided for Elijah through an unusual channel.

d) He Multiplies What Is Available (2 Kings 4:1-7)
God can use little resources to produce sufficient provision.

Biblical Example: The widow of Zarephath (1 Kings 17:8-16). Her limited flour and oil became sufficient throughout the famine because God intervened.

6. GOD'S HELP BRINGS RESTORATION AND ADVANCEMENT

God's help can move a person from a place of loss into a place of restoration and progress.

a) Restoration After Loss (Joel 2:25)
God can restore what has been lost or wasted.

b) Recovery From Defeat (1 Samuel 30:8)
God can give direction for recovering what the enemy has taken.

c) Advancement After Delay (Psalm 75:6-7)
Promotion ultimately comes from God.

d) Transformation Into A Testimony (Psalm 126:1-3)
God can turn seasons of sorrow into seasons of rejoicing.

Biblical Example: David (1 Samuel 30:1-20). David sought God, received divine direction, recovered everything that had been taken, and experienced restoration.

7. GOD'S HELP GIVES US A TESTIMONY

One of the greatest profits of divine help is that it gives us something to testify about.

a) Others Will See God's Goodness (Psalm 40:1-3)
God's intervention becomes a testimony that encourages others.

b) Your Story Can Strengthen Others (2 Corinthians 1:3-4)
The comfort we receive from God enables us to comfort others.

c) God Receives The Glory (Psalm 115:1)
Our testimonies should point people to God rather than ourselves.

d) Your Testimony Can Produce Faith (Revelation 12:11)
What God has done in your life can encourage others to trust Him.

Biblical Example: The man born blind (John 9:1-25). His encounter with Jesus became an undeniable testimony of God's intervention.

CONCLUSION

The profit of God's help is beyond what money can purchase. God's help gives strength when we are weak, victory when we are surrounded, protection when we are vulnerable, direction when we are confused, provision when resources are insufficient, restoration when we have suffered loss, and advancement when we have been delayed. When God helps a person, the result becomes a testimony of His faithfulness.

Therefore, never depend exclusively on human ability. People may help you, but make God your ultimate Helper. Look to Him in prayer, trust His Word, obey His instructions, and wait for His intervention. When the Lord becomes your Helper, your limitations will not determine your outcome; His power will.

PRAYER POINTS

1. Father, thank You because You are my Helper and my source of strength, in Jesus name.

2. Lord, arise and strengthen me in every area where I am weak, in Jesus name.

3. Father, give me victory over every battle that is beyond my human ability, in Jesus name.

4. Lord, preserve me and my household from every evil and hidden danger, in Jesus name.

5. Father, give me divine wisdom and direction in every decision I need to make, in Jesus name.

6. Lord, provide every legitimate need in my life and family according to Your riches in glory, in Jesus name.

7. Father, restore everything that has been lost, wasted, or stolen from my life according to Your will, in Jesus name.

8. Lord, move me from every season of stagnation and delay into supernatural advancement, in Jesus name.

9. Father, turn every difficult situation in my life into a testimony of Your goodness, in Jesus name.

10. Lord, let the profit of Your help be evident in every area of my life, and make me a testimony of Your faithfulness, in Jesus name.

PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1. The Lord shall arise and help you in every area of your life.

2. You shall receive supernatural strength to accomplish what appears impossible.

3. Every battle beyond your capacity shall receive divine intervention.

4. The Lord shall preserve you and your household from evil.

5. Divine wisdom shall direct your steps and decisions.

6. God shall provide for you from expected and unexpected sources.

7. Everything that God has ordained for you but was lost or delayed shall be restored according to His purpose.

8. You shall move from stagnation into supernatural advancement.

9. Your present challenges shall become testimonies that will glorify God.

10. The help of God shall distinguish your life, strengthen you in weakness, defend you in battle, provide for you in need, preserve you from evil, and establish you in your divine purpose, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
