Description: This study reveals the kind of faith that attracts divine intervention, healing, restoration, and miracles from God.

INTRODUCTION

Matthew chapter 9 contains several powerful miracles performed by Jesus: the healing of the woman with the issue of blood, the raising of Jairus’ daughter, and the healing of two blind men. In each case, faith played a central role in receiving the miracle.

Faith is complete trust and confidence in God’s power, character, and promises even when circumstances appear impossible. Throughout Scripture, Jesus continually responded to people who approached Him with genuine faith.

Miracles are not produced by human strength or effort but by trusting in the authority and ability of God. The faith that receives miracles is persistent, confident, humble, and fully dependent upon Christ.

1. MIRACLE-RECEIVING FAITH BELIEVES GOD DESPITE IMPOSSIBLE SITUATIONS

Faith looks beyond circumstances and focuses on God’s power.

a) Jairus believed Jesus could raise his daughter (Matthew 9:18)
Even in the face of death, he trusted Christ’s authority.

b) Nothing is impossible with God (Luke 1:37)
God’s power is greater than human limitations and hopeless situations.

c) Faith focuses on God rather than fear (Mark 5:36)
Fear weakens confidence, but faith rests upon God’s promises.

d) Faith believes before seeing results (Hebrews 11:1)
Genuine faith trusts God even without visible evidence.

Biblical Example:
Abraham believed God’s promise concerning Isaac despite impossible natural circumstances (Romans 4:18-21).

2. MIRACLE-RECEIVING FAITH IS PERSISTENT

True faith refuses to give up.

a) The woman with the issue of blood pressed through the crowd (Matthew 9:20-21)
Her determination revealed deep confidence in Christ’s power.

b) Persistent faith overcomes obstacles (Luke 18:1-8)
Believers are encouraged to pray and trust continually.

c) Faith remains steadfast during delay (James 1:3-4)
Patience strengthens spiritual maturity and endurance.

d) God rewards diligent seekers (Hebrews 11:6)
Persistence demonstrates genuine trust and expectation.

Biblical Example:
Blind Bartimaeus continued crying out to Jesus despite opposition until he received his healing (Mark 10:46-52).

3. MIRACLE-RECEIVING FAITH TRUSTS THE AUTHORITY OF JESUS

Christ alone is the source of miracles and restoration.

a) Jesus healed the woman immediately (Matthew 9:22)
Christ responded to sincere faith and confidence in Him.

b) Jesus declared, “According to your faith” (Matthew 9:29)
Faith positions believers to receive from God.

c) God’s Word strengthens faith (Romans 10:17)
Faith grows through hearing and believing Scripture.

d) Jesus still performs miracles today (Hebrews 13:8)
Christ remains unchanged in power, mercy, and authority.

Biblical Example:
The centurion believed Jesus could heal his servant by simply speaking a word, and the miracle occurred immediately (Matthew 8:5-13).

4. MIRACLE-RECEIVING FAITH PRODUCES TESTIMONIES

God uses miracles to reveal His glory and strengthen others.

a) The blind men received their sight (Matthew 9:30)
Their healing became evidence of Christ’s power.

b) Miracles glorify God publicly (Psalm 126:1-3)
Testimonies reveal God’s greatness and faithfulness.

c) Testimonies encourage others to trust God (Revelation 12:11)
Shared victories strengthen the faith of believers.

d) Faith leads to spiritual growth and deeper trust (Romans 5:3-5)
Encounters with God strengthen future confidence and dependence upon Him.

Biblical Example:
The healed lame man at the Beautiful Gate became a public testimony of God’s power and drew many people to Christ (Acts 3:1-10).

CONCLUSION

Matthew chapter 9 reveals that faith is essential for receiving miracles from God. The faith that receives miracles believes God despite impossibilities, persists through obstacles, trusts completely in Christ’s authority, and produces testimonies that glorify God.

Believers are called to build strong faith through God’s Word, prayer, and dependence upon the Holy Spirit. No situation is beyond God’s power, and those who trust Him wholeheartedly shall experience divine intervention and victory.
