By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

"And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness. And Pharaoh said, Who is the Lord, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the Lord, neither will I let Israel go."

Supporting Texts: Exodus 14:13-14, Isaiah 49:24-26, Psalm 105:37, 2 Timothy 4:18, Nahum 1:9

INTRODUCTION
Pharaoh in the Bible represents the forces that resist the fulfilment of God's promises in the lives of His people. He was a cruel taskmaster who kept Israel in bondage and refused to release them despite God's command. Many believers today are battling “Pharaohs” in the form of stubborn problems, oppressive situations, and enemies who refuse to let them go. However, just as God overthrew Pharaoh and delivered Israel, He will fight for you and give you victory.

1. WHO OR WHAT IS THE PHARAOH OF YOUR DESTINY?

Pharaoh symbolises various forces that seek to hinder divine purpose.

a) The Spirit of Stubborn Oppression
Pharaoh refused to let Israel go despite multiple plagues (Exodus 7:13).

b) The Power that Resists Deliverance
Some problems persist even after prayers, just like Pharaoh resisted Moses' demands (Exodus 8:32).

c) The Enemy that Increases Burdens When Breakthrough is Near
When Moses demanded freedom, Pharaoh increased the Israelites’ workload (Exodus 5:6-9).

d) The Force that Pursues Even After Release
Pharaoh chased after the Israelites even after they left Egypt (Exodus 14:5-9).

e) Biblical Example:
King Saul relentlessly pursued David, trying to stop him from becoming king (1 Samuel 19:1-2).

2. STRATEGIES FOR DEALING WITH DESTINY PHARAOHS
Victory over stubborn oppressors requires divine strategy.

a) Confront Them with the Word of the Lord
Moses boldly told Pharaoh, “Thus saith the Lord, Let my people go” (Exodus 5:1).

b) Engage in Persistent and Violent Prayers
Some Pharaohs only bow to aggressive spiritual warfare (Matthew 11:12).

c) Depend on God’s Power and Not Human Strength
It was not Moses’ ability but God’s intervention that broke Pharaoh’s power (Exodus 12:29).

d) Apply the Blood of Jesus for Supernatural Release
The Israelites were delivered after applying the blood of the lamb (Exodus 12:13).

e) Biblical Example:
Hannah overcame barrenness through persistent prayer and faith (1 Samuel 1:10-20).

3. SIGNS THAT YOUR PHARAOH IS ABOUT TO BE DESTROYED
Before God overthrows an oppressor, there are signs of impending victory.

a) The Enemy Begins to Make Costly Mistakes
Pharaoh’s stubbornness led to the destruction of Egypt (Exodus 10:7).

b) Unusual Divine Interventions Begin to Occur
God began to fight for Israel through plagues and wonders (Exodus 7:14-12:30).

c) You Receive Prophetic Directions and Instructions
God gave Moses specific steps to take against Pharaoh (Exodus 4:22-23).

d) The Enemy’s Resistance Becomes Weaker
After repeated judgments, Pharaoh finally let Israel go (Exodus 12:31).

e) Biblical Example:
Herod sought to kill Peter, but God intervened and struck him down (Acts 12:1-11, 23).

4. ENEMIES THAT HELP PHARAOH TO OPPRESS DESTINIES
Pharaohs of destiny do not work alone; they have accomplices.

a) Evil Counselors and Advisors
Pharaoh’s magicians tried to replicate God’s miracles to resist Moses (Exodus 7:11-12).

b) Household Enemies and Betrayers
Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery, making him a prisoner in Egypt (Genesis 37:28).

c) Forces of Darkness and Witchcraft Manipulations
Some Pharaohs are empowered by demonic powers (Exodus 7:22).

d) Generational Curses and Evil Foundations
Israel’s slavery began due to past events involving their ancestors (Genesis 15:13).

e) Biblical Example:
Haman conspired against Mordecai but was eventually destroyed (Esther 7:10)

5. HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR DELIVERANCE FROM DESTINY PHARAOHS
Once delivered, you must secure your victory.

a) Walk in Holiness and Obedience
Sin can reopen doors for Pharaoh to return (John 5:14).

b) Stay Under Divine Covering and Anointing
Israel followed Moses under divine instruction until they reached the Promised Land (Exodus 14:31).

c) Continue in Fervent Prayer and Warfare
Victory must be sustained through prayer (1 Thessalonians 5:17).

d) Reject Fear and Walk in Boldness
The Israelites struggled because of fear, but boldness in God is key (2 Timothy 1:7).

e) Biblical Example:
Jesus overcame Satan’s temptations by standing on the Word (Matthew 4:1-11).

CONCLUSION
Every believer will encounter Pharaohs—stubborn oppositions that resist their destiny. However, just as God delivered Israel, He will deliver you. The key to victory is total dependence on God, obedience to divine instructions, and persistent prayer. No matter how strong the Pharaoh may seem, God is stronger, and He will bring every oppressor down.
