WHEN GOD REMEMBERS YOU

Text: Genesis 8:1; Exodus 2:24; 1Samuel 1:19; Luke 23:43

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

INTRODUCTION:
Today, we are going to delve into the powerful and comforting truth found in the Bible that when God remembers you, amazing things happen. We will explore what it means for God to remember us, how His remembrance can impact our lives, and the biblical examples that illustrate this truth.

I. GOD'S FAITHFUL REMEMBRANCE
- Genesis 8:1 - "But God remembered Noah and all the wild animals and the livestock that were with him in the ark, and he sent a wind over the earth, and the waters receded."
    - Here we see God's faithfulness in remembering Noah in the midst of the great flood. Even in the darkest times, God's remembrance brings deliverance and restoration.

- Exodus 2:24 - "God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob."
    - The Israelites were in slavery in Egypt, but God's remembrance of His covenant with their forefathers brought about their deliverance through Moses.

II. GOD'S INTENTIONAL REMEMBRANCE
- 1 Samuel 1:19 - "Early the next morning they arose and worshipped before the Lord and then went back to their home at Ramah. Elkanah made love to his wife Hannah, and the Lord remembered her."
    - Hannah longed for a child and, in due time, God remembered her and blessed her with a son, Samuel.

- Luke 23:42-43 - "Then he said, 'Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom.' Jesus answered him, 'Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.'"
    - Even in His suffering on the cross, Jesus remembered the repentant criminal and promised him salvation.

III. OUR RESPONSE TO GOD'S REMEMBRANCE
- Psalm 77:7-9 - "Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favour again? Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time?"
    - In times of doubt and despair, we may question God's remembrance of us. But we must hold firm to His promises and trust in His faithfulness.

- Hebrews 6:10 - "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them."
    - Our faithfulness and service to God and others are not forgotten. God sees and remembers our efforts, and He will reward us in His perfect timing.

CONCLUSION:
When God remembers you, He brings deliverance, blessing, and fulfilment of His promises. Let us take comfort in knowing that God's remembrance is a sign of His love, faithfulness, and sovereignty over our lives. May we trust in His perfect timing and continue to serve Him faithfully, knowing that He never forgets His children.
