SEASON OF DIVINE FAVOUR

Title:   SEASON OF DIVINE FAVOUR

Text: Isaiah 61:1-3, Luke 4:18-19

By Rev. Samuel Arimoro

INTRODUCTION:
Every believer desires to experience the divine favor of God—a supernatural grace that opens doors, elevates, and brings about blessings beyond human effort. A "Season of Divine Favour" is a time when God’s blessings are poured out abundantly, and His presence is evident in every aspect of our lives. This sermon will explore the nature of divine favor, how it manifests, and how we can position ourselves to walk in it.

1. UNDERSTANDING DIVINE FAVOUR

Definition of Divine Favour
     - Divine favor is the unmerited grace and kindness that God bestows upon His children. It is not earned by works but is a gift from God, often leading to extraordinary outcomes.
     - Biblical Example:
Joseph’s journey from the pit to the palace (Genesis 39:2-4). Despite the challenges, the Lord was with Joseph, and he found favor in the eyes of those around him, leading to his promotion.

Characteristics of Divine Favour:
     - It brings supernatural promotion and recognition (Esther 2:17).
     - It shields and protects (Psalm 5:12).
     - It grants access to opportunities (Nehemiah 2:4-8).

2.  SIGNS OF A SEASON OF DIVINE FAVOUR

   Unusual Doors Open:
     - When God’s favor is upon you, doors that were once shut begin to open. These are doors of opportunity, influence, and blessings.
     - Example:
Nehemiah found favor before the king, which led to the rebuilding of Jerusalem’s walls (Nehemiah 2:1-8).

   Accelerated Progress:
     - Things that normally take years to accomplish happen quickly under divine favor.
     - Example:
In one day, Joseph went from a prisoner to the prime minister of Egypt (Genesis 41:39-41).

   - Divine Connections:
     - God connects you with people who have the power to help you fulfill your destiny.
     - Example:
Ruth found favour with Boaz, which eventually led to her becoming part of the lineage of Christ (Ruth 2:10-13).

3. POSITIONING YOURSELF FOR DIVINE FAVOUR

   - Obedience to God:
     - Obedience is a key to accessing divine favor. When we walk in obedience, we align ourselves with God’s plans, and His favor follows.

     - Scripture:
Isaiah 1:19 – "If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land."

   - Living a Life of Righteousness:
     - God’s favor rests upon those who walk in righteousness and integrity.
     - Scripture:
Proverbs 12:2 – "A good man obtains favor from the Lord."

   - Faith and Expectation:
     - Faith is the currency that activates divine favor. When we expect God’s favour, we position ourselves to receive it.
     - Scripture:
Hebrews 11:6 – "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him."

   - Gratitude and Praise:
     - A heart of gratitude and continual praise keeps us in a place of favor. Thanksgiving magnifies what God has done and invites more of His blessings.
     - Scripture:
Psalm 67:5-7 – "Let the peoples praise You, O God; let all the peoples praise You. Then the earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us."

CONCLUSION:
As we enter into this season of divine favor, let us remain aligned with God’s will, walk in obedience, and keep our faith and expectations high. God’s favor is available to all who seek Him with a pure heart. When His favor rests upon you, no obstacle can stand in your way, and every barrier will be broken. Embrace this season with confidence, knowing that the favor of God will lead you into greater heights and deeper blessings.
